    Hi amazing kitchen!!!! I'm absolutely in loooove! Me and my boyfriend guessed around 17 000€ (I'm leaning more around 20 000€...). The video now has 14 000 Views 👏🏽Did you guys reveal the cost of the Kitchen yet?

    Hey, I'm so excited to find your channel! I'm also from Germany 🙂. Yes, there are quite a few differences between German and American homes. No air-conditioning, no built-in closets or pantries. Loved your video!

      Healthy Minimalist Mom Wow, so nice to “meet” you!!! 🙌 We actually have a space in the corner of our kitchen that could be a pantry, but we are trying to figure out how we would navigate that...all in good time! It’s like a puzzle. 🧩

    Show me the Money. I'd really be interested in the cost of your kitchen. I love your kitchen. I think you probably researched it well so you got the best deal. My first thought is $20K, but you shared much higher numbers so I really don't know. I have white Cutco knives too and I love them. Drawers are so great to use for storage. It's the best storage because the drawers pull out so you don't lose stuff and the entire space is usable. I love the fridge. It's not that big but you can see everything in it. I live alone and cook for myself always, so that would work for me. Thanks for the tour.

    Most homes in Germany don’t come with kitchens?! Today is the day I learned that.

    • @AtoZenLife
      @AtoZenLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Erica Lucas YES! Renters even take their kitchens with them - one girl told me her parents had 3 in their basement because they kept moving and changing kitchens. 😂

    • @katiesoderling3596
      @katiesoderling3596 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Marissa: Squirrels of a Feather - That’s so interesting! I’ve always had the impression that Europe was way ahead of the US when it comes to planet friendly practices. That seems excessive and unnecessary to me 🤔

    • @AtoZenLife
      @AtoZenLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Katie Soderling Oh they absolutely are! Most people just don’t move as often, and if they do they would sell their kitchens if they didn’t fit the new place! It is (IMHO) very unusual to keep so many kitchens, hahaha.

    • @katiesoderling3596
      @katiesoderling3596 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Marissa: Squirrels of a Feather - Ah that’s makes more sense! Lol!

    • @bealea_lea_
      @bealea_lea_ 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      most people try to sell the kitchen to the new people who will rent the place. But you don't always get to know the new renters or they don't have the same taste. I absolutely dislike that about Germany. Of course it gives you the chance to have a kitchen you really like and plan it individually but it makes moving much more expensive. One of the reasons I haven't moved out of my current appartment
      btw: beautiful kitchen

    Wow! Houses in Germany don't come with built-in kitchens?! 😳 In South Africa, ours usually come with kitchen cupboards, sinks & built in stoves etc, but you typically supply your own fridge/freezer & dishwashing/laundry appliances etc. The European size fridge/freezer & small grocery storage cupboards are more typical here as well so that isn't a big surprise to me (I have done much drooling over American Style Walk-In Pantry organisation videos 😉)

  • @anaalves3658
    @anaalves3658 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Your kitchen looks amazing 😍. I am going to guess that it cost you 27000 Euro's. You must have spent about 4000 Euro's for the appliances, I spotted AEG they are a great brand with mid to high end prices. And the rest on labor and materials. What I am interested is the total size of your apartment and how much it cost? I am always curious as to how property is priced. I sometimes look at property listing in different European cities just for curiosity sake 🤷🤪

    I have a minimalist kitchen but if you just quickly looked at it you wouldn't think it was as its so small. However there is only what we need and use. From the UK, everything including fridges in much smaller and more expensive Europe. I hate cooking BTW.

    • @AtoZenLife
      @AtoZenLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Love this kitchen! Great tour 🤩
    Just a thought.. Another option is to put toaster, coffee maker etc out on the countertop for ease of use and hide with the rolling panel. Then put glass jars of foods on the shelves or something else decorative.
    Like creating a coffee station or breakfast station 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @rudetins
      @rudetins 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I thought the same. I would put my appliances I use frequently (coffee machine, foodprocessor and blender) on the counter and hide it behind the sliding door when not in use (I wouldn't use the appliances as often if I had to put them away in a cabinet after each use). The shelves above I would probably use for nice looking jars with dry foods in it.

    Yes your kitchen is beautiful. I am minimalish like Erica Lucas, who I love. It seems a bit extreme in size for a Minimalist kitchen, but when you explain you very regularly have family over that makes sense. Minimalism to me is having what you need and want for you and your family and using it all. Keeping things you love very much like your Fathers knives and Mums plates is so lovely .
    Your kids are Beautiful btw.

    The minimalist mom has lots of color and a really pretty and calm looking home. You have kids! Who in their right mind has all white with kids! it's beautiful, sleek and modern and does what you want and I'm going to steal the ideas for a galley kitchen for my cabin (my distant future cabin . . ) I agree with YOU. I think fridges are smaller because daily shopping is still a thing there.
    Show me the money, and I guess 7k euros for the units and about the same for labor, so 15K euros. What are the standard dimensions, like how many feet long and wide for the two units, just out of curiosity.

I have a friend who cooks from scratch wayyyyy more than me and she uses it to “grate” cheese and “chop” veggies 🤷‍♀️ I’m betting there’s some awesome TH-cam tutorials on all the things you can do with it. My family and I lived in Germany for three years a very long time ago! Our kids were very young , they have families of their own now, I enjoyed seeing all the interesting things and ways that are so different than America! I really like your kitchen,so different than when we lived there! Germany was our first foreign country we lived in, was homesick some but got over it after meeting some ladies to go sightseeing with! Husband was at work and kids just go with the flow 💐

    Wonderful kitchen. Who cares what someone else’s minimalist kitchen looks like. Your new oven will be so much easier to use than the last one. The more you show, the more I love the cabinets. Yes please tell the price.

I've amassed a collection of them. They have moved everywhere with me. Much love from another former Indiana girl. xo

    I don't know why people from North America think fridges in Europe are small and that you can't ever get ones that are even close to the size available in North America, um, yes you can, they are totally available. I feel like she wanted a hidden built in fridge and maybe only those sizes are available, but for free standing fridges, yeah, you can definitely get the bigger ones. Here's the thing, in general, large appliances like stove/oven, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine (because in Europe it's common to put a front loading washer in the kitchen) are all 60cm/24 inches wide standard, it just makes it easier to figure out what will fit, there are different sizes, but 60cm is the main standard, which is smaller than the ones in North America. So it's easier to find a fridge that's 60cm wide but SUPER tall, like so tall you need a step ladder to get to the top, lol, I'm not kidding, lol, like there are some that are 6'8"/203cm tall but super narrow

    I didn’t know they didn’t have kitchens installed. So you are taking all of that with you when you move? It is gorrrgeous but that’s ridiculous. Rip out the sink!!! I’ve been to houses where they have taken light fittings and curtain rods. Your people’s guesses on people’s prices are nuts.

    I love kitchens in Germany and that’s one thing I really miss about living in Germany. It’s such a hassle to install your own whenever you move but at the same time you can call it your own and chose your own design so that’s great. That’s a pretty large kitchen so my guess is 15,000 euros

    Truth to tell, I am kind of surprised that you were using swiffer products. They are so wasteful and so expensive. I use microfiber cloth and dampen them squeezing that almost totally dry and put them at the bottom to mop and do the whole place in like four minutes. And then I take it off and I throw it in the wash. So you might think about the swiffer thing. Besides The actual swiffer smell is too smelly for some.).

I hope to go again in a few years. I’m so envious of you living in Berlin. What a fantastic and interesting city. I’d love to know more about what it’s like to live there?

    To me a minimalist kitchen is you have what you have there because it's what you use. It's not supposed to look like someone that always goes out to eat. So one man's minimal might be another person's maximum. It's all in balance and needs.
    It's like people. You know you have certain people in your life that you want to have minimal contact with? They're going to little bit but let's keep it minimal. And then you have maximum people in your life which give an a maximum amount of wow. Sometimes good sometimes not good. So it's a balance. Please tell your husband you love him dearly. But you really don't always need him to tell you when it's a minimal not enough or too much. Good heavens. That would be like giving up your washer and dryer. Now a minimalist might say, "well I can beat my clothes on a rock and lay them out on the grass to dry. That's pretty minimal. Do you want to do it? Hell no, speaking for myself. I think you are doing a lovely job. Really and truly. (And I always use too many words. Minimal and my word usage are not mutually compatible at times. I like to write ). But I offer you peace and blessings. And much joy. Gail in Central Florida Thursday, April 8, 2021.
