I appreciate that you added in that little screenshot about the lasik thing being untrue. There’s nothing wrong with being mistaken about something but pointing out that something you said was inaccurate is super important and not something that’s done nearly enough. As a person of science, I really appreciate that. Love your content by the way :)

Yes about the children’s books. I think its incredibly important to nurture a love of reading. Plus I don’t want to have them on a screen to read books. Studies have shown children retain and learn more from physical books.

Marissa: Make sure Lasik is the best method of correction for YOUR eyes. I almost got Lasik but stumbled on to some info the ophthalmologist didn't fully discuss with me...I have very pronounced astigmatism (my eyes are shaped like un-cracked eggs) so Lasik wouldn't have corrected it much and could have actually made my vision worse. I'll be having Cataracts removed later this year; it won't get me perfect vision (nothing will) but the weight of new glasses will save my nose : ) It sounds like your vision is really poor as well so I would hate for something to possibly make it worse. My best to you Marissa : )

    • @Raec123

Having lasik gave me dry eye really bad. I’ve been living with horrible dry eye now for 15 years and my astigmatism has came back about 5 years ago, so now I can’t wear contacts because of the dry eye and I’m back to wearing glasses. I regret getting it

I had glasses starting at age 8. I had super thick lenses and was paying a fortune for contacts. 4 years ago I invested in PRK laser surgery ($3500)! BEST DECISION EVER!!!! I HIGHLY recommend looking into it! Although it was expensive it paid for itself in less than 2 years for me!

I had LASIK done in 2008, and I definitely remember the smell of my eyes being cauterized. I ended up with 20/15 vision, but my night vision was shot for 4 years before it healed. I was warned that I would need reading glasses in my 40's due to aging, but that hasn't been the case as I'm about to turn 50.

I don't know if you will see this but invest in a Berkey water filter. The filters can last up to 10 years and the water is way purer than normal fridge and jug filters. It's also a gravity filter so no electricity etc needs to be used.

Great video! And yes those trolleys are life savers in Europe. What I'll never stop buying is the Method daily shower cleaner. My husband uses soap and I cannot stand the soap scum build up. This baby keep sthe shower super clean. I reuse Method spray bottles. Love Castille soap dilluted in water ..use for countertops, wood, furniture, counteracts, and vegetable /fruit wash. Also use the dillutable lysol to disinfect. Got this multi purpose spray from trader joe's from a friend as a gift and got hooked..it cleans glass and mirrors like no other so i do not buy window cleaner anymore .

Marissa, those bags getting broken- it can be solved ;) there are non plastic, thick material type bags, the 9nes from Lidl or Aldi are very good and long lasting. I have mine for at least 3 years now, and you can also wash them :) no plastic materials involved so a win win. The only thing is they are a bit larger after folding, not big at all tho ;)

One exception i make is buying childrens books - my daughter also loves books, but because of that, we go to the library instead of buying them - it is so much cheaper and we always find books we would never have thought of buying. Especially in germany you can find a lot of excellent libraries in every city, maybe you check these out.

Have you ever tried hard lenses?
You have to clean it every after use and if you do so they will be okay for up to two years. They are compatible with dry eye, but you will feel it more. Have to get used to it 😅
Best one day lenses are the "Dailies Total 1" from Alcon.
An alternative to Lasik is set a lens into your eye.
But my opinion is, every surgery can bring complications. No replacement for eyes. If 10.000 will be fine and only one goes wrong - I will not be the one 🤔

Marissa darling my tip to you is drink a can of V/8 every day and your eyes will be much better off! Personally since 1986 I've had to pay for a new pair of glasses every year at a great expense to me because my eyes get worst and worst, but now that I drink V/8 my eyes are great! I can read the finest of font easy without glasses and I'm 61 year's old baby please drink your veggies! Green smoothies are also very important but don't give up on V/8 also take V/8 ... Amazon has great deals on V/8. I get 11.5 ounce cans of V/8 for 50 cents a can on Amazon. com!
    God bless you and yours!

You need more omega 3 fats for your dry eye. I take a good quality krill oil. It saved my dry eyes. No eye medicine for me.

Then the covid arrive in our lives and we were obliged to buy him a smartphone. He was twelve and he was the last one in his class to have it. Now he's therteen and I consider myself lucky if he still read manga ...where have I failed? Italian mom

    Absolutely love 💕 you videos..
I’m prepping to move from a much too large home into a smaller apartment. At almost 71 I no longer need stuff .
I started in 2020 and plan to sell my home in 2024 so I’ve given myself lots of time.
I don’t have clutter but too much stuff as the home I felt needed stuff.
I no longer have that need , I want simple.
I love all these fabulous tips …
    Thanks 🙏🏽 so much ..🙏🏽

Amazon is a terrible company though. Not to hate on you, it's just that I think that if you care about the environment and human rights, you should not give them money. There are a lot of online book stores and environmental-friendly stores for "family goods" in Germany.
