Totally agree with you that the Merc is overrated. Too many other reviewers give them praise, but it is just mid tier imo. Finally found a reviewer that knows what he is talking about.

Thanks dude. When you’ve played as long as i have and still play, you get to know a good and not so good boot. LOL. But yeah man, you’re right it is a mid tier boot. I can’t think of anyone in my two teams that play in them so can’t be that great. I think Nike have taken consumers for granted and just rested on the mercurial name. Be interesting to see what the new one is like.

i think adidas played safe with this boot and put everything into marketing. i think they are trying to reach a bigger audience with the f50 name like they did with the preds but without making something special or even good. tech wise there isnt anything speed boot about it other than the overall silhouette. people who dont play football will buy into the hype and i think thats what adidas want

That is a spot on conclusion and one I agree with. I've got mine up for sale already. It's also strange that there has been some images of a plus model which looks more speed boot like. But apart from some images on Footy Headlines, nobody has seen it! If Adi do release a better version, I would not be overly happy, thinking I had the best version.
