The thing is with the fedora you have to have the whole look. You can't just roll up with a fedora and jeans.
Exactly. That's what I was thinking. I see guys walking around in fedoras sometimes, but they don't wear them with suits, so it doesn't look as good or put together. If you're just wearing casual clothes and then a fedora it looks kind of weird, at least to me.
And I think that's a big reason why, along with the natural cycle of what's in and what it isn't, fedoras just aren't as cool anymore. Too many dudes wearing one with a t-shirt & jeans and thinking they're pulling it off, instead looking like a neckbeard.
I laughed out loud when you wrote "you can't just roll up with a fedora and jeans"! But it's true, you really can't. I see guys do that and it just looks like they're trying to be something they're not.

I love the fashion style of Mad Men. I actually inherited a pin from my grandmother that looks exactly like one Christina wore in an episode. I agree with her though, hats should be more common, not only for men but for women too! I'd love to wear my bowler without being stared at.

The kindest sweetest compliment Christina probably and arguably got was during the Busy Phillips Entertainment Show on E ! when one Twitter user complimented Christina Hendricks-Arend by saying, "I just want to give Christina Hendricks everything." It was the sweetest compliment I read in a long time and it literally made Christina smile and filled her up with endless happiness and joy. I am so excited to see her character Gabby who she voiced over in Toy Story 4 in Jerusalem where I live.

A fedora has to be expertly styled to be a fashion accessory, a lot of these guys see Don Draper wearing one and think that if they put one on they’ll look like him, but they don’t realize that the need to have their outfit match the fedora, so they just wear jeans and a t shirt with it.
Or they wear the outfit but make it about the fedora, they don’t use it as an accessory, but as the center piece, when the real centerpiece should be you

Fedoras look GREAT on men as part of an authentic period suit from an era where the average man typically dressed for work every day in a suit, tie, what we consider "dress shoes" and a hat, and men and women aged 21+ typically wore hats with almost every outfit when going anywhere. Like to go outside you put on your shoes, seasonal coat, grabbed your wallet and keys, and put on your hat. For ladies, they often wore gloves. It was a social norm and fashion statement. Compare it in terms of commonness to how most girls carry a purse.
ANYWAYS, I think that when part of a suit from 1920-1970ish, the 1960s in particular, fedoras look dapper on men 🔥🔥❤️❤️

Although I partly agree, I think everyone is entitled to look how they want and shouldn't we all love ourselves? Not like "I love myself, I'm so beautiful" but if you're comfortable with your body and the way you look who gives a crap what everyone else thinks? Although I don't like the look of super skinny girls, I don't judge them...if they want to be super skinny then each person to themselves!
