What is House B/L and Master B/L? Explained these B/L advantage and disadvantage in Global Logistics

B/L is very important document to arrange logistics. If there is a mistakes or any problem on B/L, Consignee cannot take the cargo from the yard. To make logistics smooth, House B/L is recommended by Forwarder. But it's better to understand these difference first.

From my experience the MBL/OBL is issued by the NVOCC partner of the forwarder/agent the same day electronically and pretty fast. You could also call it eBL, Straight BL or Express BL. So I would not consider that an issue. Without the non-negotiable MBL, neither the shipper or the consignee have control and ownership of the cargo from point A to point B. That is a very important distinction you need to make here.

Thanks IINO San, I learnt a lot from your videos. May I ask what the difference between telex HBL and telex MBL? Are they issued by the same exporter?
As I explained on the video, MBL is issued/telexed by shipping lines.
HBL is issued/telexed by freight forwarders.

As I know, it is about USD 50/DO

my understanding is, there are House BL because forward wants to hide consignee and shipper information to carrier
and House BL may also be used for LCL freight
Besides the above 2 reasons, is there other reason to have House BL in shipping industry?
If we combine House BL and Master BL into one BL, will freight forwarder welcome for it (in order to reduce manually work)?
HBL is not for hiding the shipper to Carrier. And yes, it is used for LCL. for FCL, HBL is more flexible than MBL as I explained on the video.

What is the difference between House B/L and FIATA B/L?
May I ask a question? Can a freight forwarder sign a House BL as an agent on the behalf of the carrier and mention the name of the carrier? I have a letter of credit which requires to be mentioned it.
I've never heard Forwarder sign on HBL like this. But if L/C mentions like this, maybe..
May i know why for master BL we cant apply for C/O?
MBL and C/O(certificate of Origin) is not related.

Liner charge D/O fee all import shipments
I don't understand the point of no D/O fee in master B/L
In Master B/L, Carrier also issue D/O, but we call it "doc fee".
We here in India commonly mention it's has D/O fee irrespective of HBL OR MBL. Cost is higher for D/O here than B/L cost
As my understanding ... In case of HBL the consignee has to approach the forwarder agent and pay a fees of BL exchange then will approach the shipping line agent and pay the destination port fees and collect the D/O for cargo release ... This what makes the HBL is not suitable for the consignees in term of cost and time ...
