    Your instruction is more detailed and better than the original one from the dispenser I bought. Thank you.

    I'm installing what looks like the exact soap dispenser in your video. The instructions that came with it are very poor. Your video made it very clear. In particular, I though I had to screw the pump assembly in to the top, but your video showed that all I had to do was push it in. Thanks so much!

    You indicate that the white and black washers go on the top of the counter. Per Meon, the white goes on top and the black under the counter.

    Nice job. Suggestion for top refilling: put about 12 oz of soap in a glass jar or measuring cup. Loosely cover. Microwave for 1 minute. Stir. Microwave for 30 seconds. Pour in carefully from top. Nuking will liquify the wax in the soap somewhat facilitating easy pouring. Wait until it cools, obviously, before using.

    I thought I had to finally replace mine after 8 years and then I watched this. I went and checked the nut underneath and found that it wasn't tight. It must have loosened over time and I didn't realize it. Bingo, everything works again!! I'm going to get a washer like yours to keep it from loosening.

    Definitely was a two man job for my sink. Access and arm reach were my issue lol

    When you were tightening the nut with the needlenose pliers, I did see the whole assembly turning, rather than just the nut. Would be better if someone up top was holding the assembly with Channel Locks (and a rag of course, so as not to mar the finish) so you could get a nice secure fit before screwing the bottle in. This is what I am dealing with on someones half arsed installation, the lock nut was never properly tightened down and has unscrewed itself halfway down the threads. Good video anyway. Just my two cents. UPDATE: Got under the sink a few days back, the homeowners son had screwed the locknut on upside down, that eventually worked it's way halfway down the threads. With the homeoner holding the assembly up top, I was able to thread the locknut up and tighten securely with a basin wrench. Would have been very difficult with out this. Screwed bottle back in, reinstalled new pump and it works great, now. P.S. no garbage disposal in the way, tg.

      You're right, it's a good idea to hold the assembly still to make sure you get a tight fit. Thanks for the tip!

    Do I need to install a new kitchen sink if mine isn't compatible with it?

  • @susanadams3472
    @susanadams3472 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mine looks exactly like yours, has worked nicely for many years (25?). It stopped working, so I took it apart and no matter if it is soap or water, it won't pump. What part do you think I have to replace? Your installation video is excellent.

      You will most likely have to buy the whole assembly.Thanks for watching.

    Can you help me? My pump won’t work anymore, yet when I take it out from the top of sink and I put the tube in a glass of water the water will come through but not the soap.

    • @getitdonehomerepair
      @getitdonehomerepair  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes when you run the pump without soap it will not pull soap in. Try putting soap directly into the bottom of the pick up tube while holding it upside down.

    • @lilipier2995
      @lilipier2995 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The soap does go through the tube but will not come out through spout.

    I have gone through 3 of these. I keep buying them cause they seem are durable. However, they usually fail pumping soap after a few months!!! Any of you had this problem and have a solution.

  • @sweetczz

    So I did all that and the bottle must be missing a part because it doesn't screw on underneath :( I love your doggie!!!

    • @sweetczz
      @sweetczz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      OOOPS it turns out that piece already screwed in there is the "top" of the bottle I was missing. Does anyone know where we can get LARGER bottles with that small top? I feel like the bottle is way too small as much as I wash my hands.

    you can also get the first couple threads started, go back on top and lift the soap dispenser flange until the nut is touching the bottom of the granite. If you slowly turn it, the friction of the nut touching the bottom of the granite countertop will keep it in place as you thread it righty tidy from the top you can actually tighten it from the top with just your bare hands so from underneath all you have to do is just get one or two threads started
