had my spyder since 2001, i have only suck out the coolant and replaced it several times as i worry about the bleeding process of a full flush. Your video has helped a lot and finally have an idea what to do..thanks
Ok thanks, i purged with engine off , and when i finished i start the car until the thermostat Opened. After that, i repeated the purge. When i finished i waited to the next day. The next day the water leve dropped below the minimum, so i repeat the process, but this time i was in a hurry, so i did it with the engine on , and the process was much faster . I don t know if it was a bad idea but i don t have problems for the moment.
Thank you so much for your guide! I just did coolant change based on your video! I have optimal temperature when i speed with 4000rpm, below half temp gauge when idle! My only issue is that I haven't heard the ventilation yet. Not sure how to test it.
Not a problem! You mentioned ‘ventilation’, did you mean the radiator fan? Rad fan usually runs when your temperature gauge is around the middle or higher. If your gauge is below half, then the rad fan may not kick in.
@@PTranProductions Yes the rad fan. I did a 10 mile run with my car and temp was optimal to low but couldn't hear the fan working. Maybe it was but I was reving 3000-4000 with 4th gear on. No temp issue. But still need to make sure the radiator works...
I see you didn't remove the front undercover. Will this result in a mess of coolant leaking anywhere on the undercover? Did the coolant drain cleanly through the drain hole? Thanks
Probably at least 2 hrs of labour x their hourly rate if the shop is doing this method. However, If the shop has a proper coolant filling equipment which does the vacuuming and filling, it’ll be much quicker and cheaper.
Hands down the best video for a coolant flush, appreciate the hard work
Thank you!

You’re welcome!
It is an intensive procedure but doable and straight forward.
Nice of you to share your time with other Spyder owners.
Thank you!
Nice video!
Thank you!
Thank you sir 🙏🙏
You’re welcome!
❤ very thanks, i Didn t know how to purgate the air in the circuit
Np!
Well, when i did the job, i had a doubt, did you purge the circuit with the water cap open ,no? And the engine on or off?

Radiator cap open and engine off.

Running the engine and top up the coolant at the end is correct.
Your system should be fine.

No need to remove the front undercover. The coolant just nicely drained through the drain hole without making any mess.
How much should a regular car shop charge for doing this in the MR2 Spyder?
Probably at least 2 hrs of labour x their hourly rate if the shop is doing this method. However, If the shop has a proper coolant filling equipment which does the vacuuming and filling, it’ll be much quicker and cheaper.
