Never have taken fit pics myself, usually just look at a mirror and kinda judge how I like the look, but I’m kind of neutral/positively inclined to them. I can definitely see the negatives to them as I have had thoughts about them all looking the same and having this certain “archetype” around them, but at the end of the day it’s just people posting fits of themselves they like. They helped me draw inspiration for my style and are just a nice way to see how people make their own cool fits. Nothing really wrong with it and I can’t judge them for it.

Fit pics have literally changed the fashion game, so I agree! It has brought so many people together. I have literally connected with so many fashion content creators and made so many friends because we had one thing in common.. we love to take pics of our outfits
The fit pic community is definitely one of the most supportive communities on social media. I started getting into fashion because of this community, and I’ve definitely gotten a lot of inspiration from it. Fit pics is also a sense of confidence! These people feel so good and comfortable in their outfits. For me, I work in the fashion industry in NYC. Everywhere you go you see someone doing a fit pic or actual photo shoots happening in the middle of the street. I always wanted to show my style and aesthetic but never felt like my fits were that good enough to do a fit pic. However this is a sense of self care that people in the fit pic community are doing for themselves to make them feel good about themselves. So fit pics will always be a community and never go away.
I think there’s something about pictures that really solidified a fit and makes it more real. Like you have evidence of how you looked and how the fit came together. Posting fit pics works by extension, putting yourself out there and making it all feel more “canon” for yourself. I love seeing what people wear and getting inspired, and I hope to do that for others too, and also just show off something I love.
Fit pics are really interesting to me because I've always been an audience to it or was the one behind the camera. I loved photography in high school (still do) and would go out to shoot fitpics of my friend pretty frequently. Coming up with outfits together and organising and researching locations was really fun and even though i was never part of like a fashion community, it kept my joy for fashion going. Def love the community aspect of fitpics now and the encouragement of being experimental and creative. Def wanna start to do some myself and actually post them but probs gotta get my outfits better first

With how influential TikTok and IG are now, the consumption of fashion has been increased, but it’s also elevated. Fit picks are great for not only pushing fashion forward to more people, but also because it’s people inspiring other people with their own sense of style. My sense of style and fashion have elevated as well and I’m forever grateful to influencers like Drew and the ones mentioned in the video.
I enjoy your discussion based videos! Fit pics are great for all the reasons explained in the video/comments, however they do bring a negative connotation in regards to people feeling like they have to post, wear certain brands, pose a certain way, etc. After awhile it feels like an assembly line of everyone doing the same thing. Bro every day that Drew posts is a good day no matter wagwan in your life at the moment. Personally fit pics have been a thing for me for awhile, but as of late I have actually began to fall out of them as I would rather dress for myself than the Gram. Fitpics were huge in 2015/16 era imo when hypebeast culture was really poppin' off, however I have definitely seen a change in how fitpics are taken and I would say they are a lot more aesthetics-focused than before.

Personally, I just started getting into fashion recently but seeing fit pics a couple of months ago was like “damn that’s dope I wanna dress like that” which was the main reason I got into fashion. I started posting fit pics because I wanted to find like minded individuals I can engage with since most of my friends aren't really into fashion or sneakers and I think that really is the reason I still post because I like engaging in the comments and also have just met some really cool ppl through IG (like yourself) 2. Second reason I started posting is that I work in digital marketing so figured at the time when I started it would be a cool little resume builder so I can show to an employer one of my hobbies is still working on digital marketing and creating content around stuff I love. 3. Bonus just got an iPhone 13pro so yeah def not gonna stop dropping fit pics anytime soon haha

I think fit pics are another form of creativity of course. I'm from Columbus, Ohio, and we're allegedly a big spot for fashion. However; it's extremely cliquey here and not very welcoming. Fashion is something I'm passionate about, but the interbet is way more welcoming. Like Shay said, I attempt to meet people with the same interests. In Columbus it seems like a competition rather than a community. So my reason for posting fit pics is to show my passion for clothing and to meet people with similar interests.
Fashion pics in the UK are tricky and it’s really disappointing, unless you’re in/from London no one ever wants to take them. Fashion that you show off which I personally love and wear myself is not popular or seen as positively at all. Here we have “Roadmen” fashion, they’re basically dealers who only wear Nikes and there tracksuits or high end fashion to show off the money they have. The other is football casuals, this is a genre I personally love and wear often myself , consisting mainly of Adidas shoes and “casual” brands : Big brands like Stone Island and CP to smaller brands such as weekend offender and peaceful hooligan. It’s an interesting sub genre which you should look into.

Being in to fashion wasn't always the cool trendy thing it is now but I always thought it was sick to develop and share personal style. Also, nothing hits like the dopamine you get from a well performing fit pic.
Before the video started I thought a fit pic was when you post your fit and tag all the parts as I’ve seen fashion influencers do. But the way you described it, I thought that was the norm of how most people take photos on social media (selfies and group pics aside) The reason I take fit pics is because I am fond of my style sense and I think good things should be shared with others 😉 🤣

Always looked up to skaters like Chris Cole, Ryan Sheck, Koston, Prod, and Nyjah wanted to wear what they wore and wanted to shred just like they do. I never thought of it as fashion in a sense. Just wanted to feel confident. To answer your question, i take fit pics because i wanted to make some type of record of what i am wearing in the current time and look back into the past to see how we evolve through time. Also if we are going to have all these clothes, sneakers, etc. Why not showcase it? If some one ask where you got this piece or that piece, give them helping hand and connect. You hit hard on the community aspect because thats what keeps me going. The community is amazing especially the who you surround yourself around in it. I have met so many people through it and the ones i have met in person have contributed in my life in such a positive way. The experience is what you make of it and contributing towards the loving/positive community is the best part of it all. Its really deeper than just fitpics.❤️
No I was always into dressing up! Taking fit pics not as much - when I hooped in college social media and fashion we’re always number 3 or 4 on my priority list behind family and hoops!
I did take pics once. Right now tho, I don't. I deleted all of my old pics because i feel like I'm evolving my style and taste at the time, so the old pictures don't really satisfy me anymore.
The 3 guuys that come to mind for me at least in terms of artful innovative fit pics are Bloody Osiris, Bloody Dior & Soberyungwalter. Each of them innovate with the boundaries they push with the outfits themselves and the ways they pose in the photos. Their photos go past fit pic and into art.

Instagram is the death of originality, it's a great platform for archiving ideas & inspirations. But often, it ends up being a get-together for specific trends rocking similar clothes. Similar to how so many influencers have the same looking pictures (similar makeup, facial features, poses) depending on their niche.
Personally, I don't really care too much about fit pics, I love my style and I don't really look to others for inspiration. Maybe that is because I am old, haha. I see them but I just glance and move on. Maybe if I ever see someone else who loves wearing Japanese denim often, I would look at them more, haha.

You hit hard on the community aspect because thats what keeps me going. The community is amazing especially the who you surround yourself around in it. I have met so many people through it and the ones i have met in person have contributed in my life in such a positive way. The experience is what you make of it and contributing towards the loving/positive community is the best part of it all. Its really deeper than just fitpics.❤️
No I was always into dressing up! Taking fit pics not as much - when I hooped in college social media and fashion we’re always number 3 or 4 on my priority list behind family and hoops!
I did take pics once. Right now tho, I don't. I deleted all of my old pics because i feel like I'm evolving my style and taste at the time, so the old pictures don't really satisfy me anymore.

The 3 guuys that come to mind for me at least in terms of artful innovative fit pics are Bloody Osiris, Bloody Dior & Soberyungwalter. Each of them innovate with the boundaries they push with the outfits themselves and the ways they pose in the photos. Their photos go past fit pic and into art.

Instagram is the death of originality, it's a great platform for archiving ideas & inspirations. But often, it ends up being a get-together for specific trends rocking similar clothes. Similar to how so many influencers have the same looking pictures (similar makeup, facial features, poses) depending on their niche.
Personally, I don't really care too much about fit pics, I love my style and I don't really look to others for inspiration. Maybe that is because I am old, haha. I see them but I just glance and move on. Maybe if I ever see someone else who loves wearing Japanese denim often, I would look at them more, haha.
