Man, as someone from Canada that's been wearing arc’teryx for forever because it's functional for winter, it's so hilarious to me that it's like such an "it" brand right now. Love the video man!
It feels weird to see Arcteryx as a staple in a fashion right now, growing up in Vancouver and buying these jackets to go camping with family, with the core selling point being the functionality of the product. Makes the products feel odd to wear as casual pieces especially since we only ever used these jackets in certain periods of the year. Fantastic that the brand is still sticking to its USP.
feel like japanese americana styling is something you could replicate yourself if you learn like basic stitching and sewing skills which makes it a lot more accessible
Man I live in Australia (moved here 2 months ago) but I'm from Sweden. Best thing there is that there are 4 seasons. We be excited bout summer all year in Spain and Portugal and Australia you know but man I miss the cold
Man I love your channel. Love the way you express the ideas, how you support other fellow content creators regardless of the platform (ig, yt, etc.), the editing being so graphic including lots of images and examples... Great job man, I've been following you and watching your videos for a few months now and I enjoy every single one of them 😊
This channel has been one of my biggest fashion inspirations in the past few weeks. I love the all-around vibe of your videos and hope you blow up in the future! :)
Its crazy how you talking about maturing in clothing when talking about japanese amaricana related with me so much, ive been starting to gear towards more of that genre transitioning from street wear, and you explaining that transition explained my life the past 2 months. Took my thoughts out my brain , Gained a loyal Sub, great video
Bruh I've been watching your videos for the last 5 hours. I'm amazed on how you keep your videos simple and yet your vibe is very immaculate. I suggest you do more long videos not just into fashion but lifestyle too! 🙌
I think it’s worth mentioning vintage military surplus/military inspired pieces as a sort of sub-section of workwear in that it was made to be utilized by people working with machinery. In fact, there’s an argument that vintage military style intersects with all of these styles. Reworked and reproduced military jackets and pants are often released by Japanese Americana designers, and while old military pieces don’t immediately scream gorpcore and might be impossible to style with a lot of modern gorpcore clothes, they have a sort of utilitarian style and function that attracted rock climbers and hikers in the 70s to them. In fact, I could see retro outdoor styles maybe taking off in the future.
I love my Dickies 874s- I’m collecting all of them like Thanos collecting the infinity stones. I’m barely getting into fashion so I’m admiring brands like Kapitol from a far. Great video 🔥 I hope y’all have a great time in New York! Me and my girl always watch your videos.
Glad to see another brotha putting out quality content. Most videos I come across are extremely trendy and fast fashion based as you mentioned, but I have a hard time finding Americans (especially brothas) being able to talk about fashion in depth. Your videos are greatly appreciated. Plus I spent many years in Tokyo. Look for me in the comments! I’m heading to Denver this weekend? And recommendations for shops?
Great content and thorough information. While I don't personally ascribe to some of the stylistic tendencies you touch upon, it is useful to know price points, functionality, history and to have a more ample view of what is relevant internationally, as well as how the cultural exchange between nations has influenced and impacted the vast gamut of fashion. Your words of encouragement and well wishes are also much appreciated.
Workwear with the Japanese Americana and some slight gorp pieces is definitely where my style is kinda headed been wearing double knees for like 2 years and now can kinda touch some gorp and Japanese Americana pieces with spending a bit. Definitely still all inspired and put together my the mind of a kid who was into streetwear. All about the pieces, mindset, and how you style it
I love these videos u got me into work ware and I love ur positivity It feels so genuine I can’t help but smile through the entire video keep it uppp man
living for the level of nerdery here (compliment, i promise)! not something i find often. i interned at Carhartt WIP and went on to work for Edwin Europe (Japanese denim brand under WIP umbrella) for years wholesaling denim. went onto other brands/women's contemporary denim and what have you but nothing hits the same! thank you for another great vid.
I finally finally finally ordered my pair of Birkenstock Boston’s, moving away from Streetwear to explore new horizons of fashion, and this video was tremendous help, can’t wait to experiment with new brands and fashion styles. Thanks for the amazing videos, can’t wait to watch the next one! ☀️
@@DrewJoiner they’re super nice, perfect to throw in after some pickup basketball games or a tennis match, even with some jeans and a nice sweater! I’m loving them!!
I'm from Indonesia, the vintage dickies/carhartt carpenter/874 here cost about $50 because the vintage is very on trend here and the brand new one cost $60 and up. Btw great convos about the fall trend!!
Bro love the gorpcore insight! I saw a lot of people wearing arc’teryx the past year or two and even salomon so I knew for a fact that those outdoor/“hiking” brands would pop off sooner or later. I think Northface/Patagonia is going to pop off even more with this new trend being more popularized and with it being at a more “affordable” price, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it in others wardrobe going forward! Anyways, great vid bro! 🔥
Such a good video again. I was wondering if you ever thought about making a video on colors and color matching in fashion and how they influence your style. I think that would be a cool video
Lol no way! Karrimor (we pronounced it as carry-more) was such a trend in 2008 - 2012 in South African primary/high schools. Everyone wanted to sport the water-proof, two-tone backpacks! There were so many knock-offs too, it’s crazy. I got only got mine 2012 and used it through high school (2015.) I rode that trend till it was in the ground. I’m not even ashamed! 😂😂
i guess people outside the US don't have to deal with the inauthenticity surrounding workwear brands, cause like here in asia, workers don't even have the luxury to know any 'brands' whatsover, and ppl who are into fashion will buy the double knees and Eisenhower jackets through resellers, which is ironic in itself
Another con for Japanese Americana is also sizing as their sizes are all over the place and usually a size smaller then standard sizing charts i think according to a few reviewers i've watched
Hiiii, so sorry to take away from your video but you favor this Korean Model named Han Hyunmin soooo much it's blowing my mind lol. You both are so handsome and it's really cool that yall are both really into fashion.
I love arcteryx, im just glad the mainstream havent seen the other brands which are also extremely good, but might lack the tech and materials of arcteryx
Gorp core is fire as fuck, good quality clothes from good quality companies, if you’ve got the money it rlly is the best place you can put it clothing and fashion-wise, you look fucking cool and you also are wearing shit that will lasts you decades
Here in Sweden fall and Winter can hit quite hard that means the gorp stuff will be very used even in cities. Even tho further north it will be more comlon w the shoes n stuff for example... I know many from Norway too and there I would say It's even mooe common sinceeit caa be colder and more shit weather genreally. But tbh no one rlly tries to style it..

Ok pick me
What models do you recommend?
do you guys want arcteryx as a brand, or do you want a goretex shell?
