In an interview with FRANCE 24, Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo reacted to the ongoing migrant crisis, in particular the exodus of young Africans to Europe. Speaking on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Akufo-Addo said African nations have a "responsibility" to help create opportunities for their citizens at home.
"We have a responsibility to our young people… to create the conditions that will make sure that they see opportunity in their own countries of birth and origin", Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo told FRANCE 24's Marc Perelman.
"I don’t think anybody will cross the Sahara and go to these rickety boats in the Mediterranean because they want to. They feel a certain compulsion to do so because at home, the opportunities that they’re looking for are not there", he added.

The instability of Africa stems from corrupted leaders who really don’t care about Africa, but influential people from to elect him or her! Africa is not poor now and it was never poor! This journalist should have made his research well😯 The former president is running again because he served only one term (4 years) instead of the two terms (8 Years ). Ghana's law say after two terms (8 Years ) you cannot run again but if your term is cut short through the ballot you can run again after 4 Years and if you win you continue your term ( last 4 Years ) after which you step down.

The history of the African continent is long and complicated and it has impacted the current generation of Africans. Today, many Africans tend to have a very negative mentality. Despite the fact that Africa has a growing consumer market, a rapid evolution in technology, and robust growth prospects, people still tend to focus on the negative.
In order for Africa to become a global leader, the mindset of its inhabitants needs to change. Positive attitudes help maximize performance and often have a ripple effect on others. African’s need to stop focusing on the destructive history of the continent and the undesirable elements that still remain. Instead they need to focus on the aspects that make Africa the great place it is and the will help move the continent forward.

The problem with Africans is clan politics. The corruption and nepotism stems tribalism and clan politics. Idiots and conmen get positions of political and financial power. Even if you remove all the corrupt people in power, the lower classes who will fill in the power vacuum will continue the same corrupt practices and nothing will change. The culture and mentality of Africans need to change first. If these things don't change then Westerners and Chinese will continue to exploit Africans.

We should start by checking everything France and Britain is doing in Africa especially France things like digging out resources for France's benefits. African unity is a most to stop the poulouging of our continent. These western influences is the biggest threat Africa faces.
