I've got an FR-S also and these are the 2 mods I've been considering - genuinely love my car, but if i could eliminate the torque dip it would be even better! Would a large adjustable crescent wrench substitute for the 22mm wrench you had to buy? I only ask because of my continually growing collection of used once tools!
I prefer to use the actual size for what I need, but an adjustable would work fine! Especially on a large bolt like that that’s made of steel. It’s unlikely that you would strip it.
Im confused he said the ecu adjusted a bit and said if he removed the cat thay he would definitely need to get a tune does he not realise he removed the first cat 😅. Will an o2 spacer clear me of a CEL until i can get a tune and will the car run correctly? Also, im def going to need to get mine ceramic coated.
They are just different cars. My 330xi is comfortable but the FR-S is more fun. In some ways the E90 feels like a more solid car, like the way the doors shut and the interior materials. But then working on it, there so many plastic parts that have a tendency to break. The FR-S has a cheaper feel overall. It reminds you that you’re in an “affordable sports car.” But it has far less plastic under the hood compared to the E90 Overall I like them both equally but for different reasons. For road trips or any distance driving I would take the E90. For tearing up some backroads I’d take the FR-S 😎
I have a 14' FRS in HotLava and also have the Cosmis XT-206R in black. Headers are next, its either the Tomie or the FT86 speed headers. EDIT: Heat warp it!
Rs_detroit took me about 45 minutes I tuned mine with the OFT tablet and there is a noticeable difference in torque and overall response to the car. Def recommend this to any 86 owner !

Should’ve at least ceramic coat the headers to reduce the amount of heat. May not be close to the air intake but it is pretty close to the oil pan and will most likely make your oil temps run hotter on summer days or longer trips. Plus can increase the heat in the engine bay and may reduce the longevity on some of the hoses and plastics stuff since the oem one had a heat shield and the tomei does not

I installed a Tomei EL header and found that after about 400 miles or so, it really quieted down. Did you find that your case?
