Lars, you and your colleagues keep the cemetery garden looking wonderful. Lots of hard work but it is paying off. I am sure that the visitors get some comfort knowing that their loved ones have such a beautiful resting place. Great filming Allen.
Thanks for the filming comment :) It's an easy job when the place is so pretty! And you're right... it is a big comfort to the families. It's one of the comments they hear the most. And we're very blessed that cemeteries in Denmark are all similar -- they pay a lot of attention to creating public spaces filled with life and respect for the families.
I really appreciate the plant names on the screen. 👍 When I see something I like, I save a screenshot of the plant as you display the name. Thank you for taking the time to film and edit - these videos are such a happy spot on the internet. 💚
Absolutely beautiful flower beds! I love all of the color! They have certainly inspired me as I think ahead to what I want to add for this next year! Thank you for another great video, I enjoy them all!
Lars that first flower bed is a work of art, truly. It looks so mature already. I am sure you are proud of the beautiful plant combinations. Thank you.
We are all very happy with the progress this season. We've got more flower beds to redo here in the autumn to be ready for spring planting! Excited to get that mapped out, too :)
We're so glad they're doing so well... and the visitors to the garden have really positive comments too -- that's always a plus when the public enjoys our work :)
Wow the cemetery garden still colorful it’s hard to believe that delphinium and lupine still have blooms. Love all the color combinations, thank you for the tour . Love from Washington State.👍😊❤️
It's been the opposite here... unusually wet. That's helped the gardens tho. Hope you get some cool breezes this weekend then! And can enjoy the end of summer :)
It is a beautiful cemetery. Lars you do good work. The plant combinations are lovely. Here in indiana alot of my flowers are tired. It has been really hot and dry. I am hoping for some cooler weather. Thank you for the video.
Absolutely stunning flower beds and grounds! This was so inspiring for me as a first year gardener working with a small bed. It’s amazing how impactful you’ve made them be despite their smaller footprint. Would you have to move things out or divide in later years when things get full grown?
So glad it's helpful! When things get too large, we will divide them. But that's the best part about perennials... you can easily divide them, move them, take cuttings (several of these for example), and collect seeds... meaning you can keep your garden growing for very little money :)
Those flower beds are amazing!❤ Can you get seeds from grasses? I have one grass in my garden, and would like a few more. I seen the little robot lawn mower in the background... 😁
I have grasses that have self seeded. I spotted the seedlings when weeding, left them alone and later potted them up to grow big before planting somewhere in the garden. Almost 20 free plants from one. 😊
That’s wonderful gentlemen, and I really find it awesome that you’re giving joy and colour to a cemetery where people often come sad. This certainty is uplifting in those moments. Such beautiful flowers, so colourful!!! Plus I’m jealous of the well-tended lawn! 😂 may I ask what is the reference of that robot-mower? Thank you again for your great videos, when I start my day with them, they give me a great boost for the rest of the day 🙏🌺
That's a big Husqvarna robot lawn mower cutting grass in the background... he makes an appearance every now and then in the video :) That's how we keep the lawn so fresh and well-maintained --- we have robotic help! haha
@@perennial-garden Thank you so much for your answer! I’ll go check about it because mowing is such a pain where I live: very rainy climate so grass grows soooo fast 😅 . Have a great day and enjoy your wonderful colourful garden 🌺
Thank you for sharing your beautiful gardens! I love that you are interested in pollinators. In the US - there is a movement toward native plants Doug Tallamy has some nice TH-cam videos on this. He describes the importance of native plants as food for caterpillars; which are the food that the majority of birds feed their young (they cannot eat bird seed). Can you point out some of the native plants used in gardens in Denmark?
We completely agree with native plants! And yes... we'd love to showcase the native flowers in our own garden. (Most of what we grow is native to our area.) In the cemetery garden, we have several flower beds with only native plants -- they aren't in flower at this time of the summer tho. I'll make sure to highlight them more in videos :) On most of our garden tours, as we talk thru the garden, I mention which ones are native. But a complete video on them would be great :)
Yes, those are lawn mowers. They have several in the garden - they run almost every day to keep the grass cut - they’re really interesting to watch work. 🤓
@@jabopy9966 Yes, all of these will stay in the ground and come back next year. We only have summer flowers around some of the actual plots -- as we want to make sure they have color all summer long. We'll replace them with pines in the winter (a very Danish tradition). As for the lawn mowing... some areas we do have to cut without the machine... so we use a push mower.

@@perennial-garden Yes we do and that is really neat to see that you plant similar things to us over here! Autumn is here but there is not a lot of changing colors just yet.. can see that our maples are just starting to change but barely.

That's great! And in the long run, it's much cheaper :)
A beautiful flowerbed and wonderfully selected plants 😍

Ah! Glorious as per usual. The lemon Popsicle is so pretty next to the pinky lupine.

Hello
Beautiful flowerbeds. For their first year you made some fabulous combinations. So much to experiment on. The sunshine is so welcoming 💯🌟🌟💕
They have done a lot in just one season :) We did start with smaller plants (not seedlings) so that helped a lot.
It's late summer here and I was starting to fizzle out but these beautiful gardens got me pumped up again! Thank you, I needed that.
So glad we could offer some inspiration :)
I'm so grateful for your beautiful informative videos thankyou ... coming into spring here in Australia whoop whoop ❤

Hello to Michigan from Denmark :)
No... we haven't grown that. Just looked it up and it's gorgeous tho! Do you?

Do you Chelsea chop the Agastache to make it so bushy?
We don't... we do deadhead tho. So instead of chopping it all down, we just remove the spent flowers. The same way we do our salvia, for example :)

We're in Fredericia, Denmark (on the east coast). We're a coastal village -- while we don't use USDA gardening zones here, we are similar to Zone 8a.
