Great review. The music kept making me feel like this was some sort of 90's r&b love making session. Not a negative, I just kept thinking the phone was gonna get sexier as the review moved on. I guess it kind of did. Solid work.
Thank you for the video. Do you believe, a few weeks now before the expected Pixel Fold 2 launch, that the price on the Pixel Fold 1 will go down significantly (even more than the previous $500 off)? Also, do you feel the phone (with limited future updates) will still be reasonably usable for another five years (software and hardware)? Thank you.
Thanks for watching. I do think we could possibly see a sale before the launch. But I don't think it'll be more than $500, and we may see the device remain on sale for a limited time at $1299 after the next generation Pixel Fold is released. Now do I think that the Pixel Fold will still be usable in 5 years? Sure, it depends on how well you take care of your device. If you're someone who is not rough and hard on your phones, then I think it should hold up over that period of time. It will continue to receive updates up until June 2028. I hope that helps.
@@BEWellTech Thank you for your reply and information. I was hoping that the price for the Pixel Fold 1 might be discounted even more after the launch of the Pixel Fold 2, in order to clear their inventory. But, as you mentioned, that may not be the case. But, thank you again for your reply.
I went from the LGV60 ThinQ Dual Screen to my first foldable and chose the OnePlus Open. That Open Canvas can have up to 5 apps open (3 + a floating window and either floating TH-cam or Google maps). Plus I'm a fan of pro modes so the Hasselblad camera system gives me pictures that blow my iPhone friends away...
Great video! Just subscribed! I’m thinking about buying one.. I’m really into AI but the pixel fold is not going to get magic compose and circle to search, right? I’m really into AI and what to know if I have to wait
Thanks, appreciate the sub! For now Google has made those features exclusive to the Pixel 8 series. They always want to give consumers an incentive to buy their new phones. But as we've seen in the past that doesn't mean all the previous devices won't get any of those features later on. There just is no way for us to know for certain right now. We have to wait and see. If you want to make sure for certain you get those features then either you pick up one of the Pixel 8 devices, or you wait for the Pixel Fold 2.
Google just pushed out Circle to Search to the Pixel Fold in the April Security Update, so if you're still looking into one now is the time. Especially with it $500 off until April 6th.
According to the latest data, the new fold 2 is delayed until October to launch it with the G4. I think it's a good idea to wait if you have a generation 7 pixel. It's what I'm doing. Especially since updates as the cars live are always better than launches. The same thing happens on mobile phones. Plus, you'll get the latest Android update policy in your pocket. 7 years of system and security updates. If you tell me it costs €600 or $. I would say buy it, but since it has a rate of $1800 or €1899 in Europe... It is not an advisable purchase. Yes at launch, but not now.
Currently here in the US, there are some significant discounts offered. The Google store has it $400 off at $1399, plus they're offering large trade-in values for older Pixels. You can get $380 for an old Pixel 6 Pro. At that price and with current trade-in values that they're offering, it's a pretty nice deal. Especially for someone who may prefer the current Pixel Fold's form factor to the design changes that are rumored to come on the Pixel Fold 2 in October. But also you can't fault anyone that would prefer the latest and greatest and wants to wait for the Pixel Fold 2. That makes sense too, it's your hard earned money so you buy what you feel is best for you.
That's unfortunate, I haven't heard of many who've had that issue. But you're still under warranty so you should contact Google. They will send you a replacement
Unfortunately, if you buy a foldable you can't really get around an expensive repair. Thankfully they're more durable than the earlier generations of foldable. Fun fact, my wife accidentally left her Pixel Fold in a pile of clothes when doing laundry. The phone went through a full wash cycle, and I was sure that the device was going to be done. But to our surprise the device is working perfectly.
Yes the best foldable I had mine since launch love running Android 14 beta QR2 is a beast with all the Google special software features and calling extras
After my usage with this phone for about 5 months I had it up to here with the shortcomings for a $2,000 almost device. It was cool to see what Google had to offer but when it comes to folds I'm just going to stick with Samsung or try the OnePlus open.
I still enjoy the device. But it's definitely not perfect, and I don't blame anyone for feeling a certain way after Google seems to have decided to hold back certain features.
Nice looking phone ive seen other videos where people say it feels really premium in the hand. But if you was to ask me is it worth buying i would say no for a couple of reasons 1. Price is too expensive 2. No stylus support for a phone that costs £1800 it should have this feature 3.apps dont open full screen whats the point of having a folding phone if apps dont open full screen it kinda defeats the purpose of having a folding phone but other than that its a good looking phone.
Yep, I agree as I said in the video not worth it if you have to pay full price. But if you find a good deal on it, then it is a great device. It's still the device I prefer as my daily driver. Also, regarding apps in full screen on the inner display that was addressed with one of the Pixel drop updates. I posted a short a while back on how you can force an app to fullscreen on the inner display th-cam.com/users/shortsORMZeMfgvQQ?si=9TXCE_2B4mSjPKxS. Thanks for watching.
Oh yes, there's no doubt the 8 Pro has the superior camera. Bigger sensors, better camera hardware all around. You can't fit those same sensors on a thin foldable.
Thanks for watching! Well today for sure that's the case. Still, my device has held up quite well without any performance degradation. I do have a one year update video you can check out if you like th-cam.com/video/B4cjmBLMcpA/w-d-xo.html
Your voice is pretty soothing, you should get a mic with no static noise and do an ASMR
Thank you for the compliment. Never thought of that, but something to consider. 😊

Yes, the OnePlus Open is a great device. Especially for the more pro type user. Enjoy!
Can't hear you that good please in the future turn the music down or off.
Thanks for the feedback.
Great video! I definitely prefer Samsung but I love all tech and I'm always here to support these smaller TH-cam channels like yours.
Thank you! I appreciate the support. 👍🏾
Subscribed! How can I not when you create a great video that feels like a Barry White song! 🔥
Thanks for the sub! I appreciate the compliment! 👍🏾

Smooth dude. You ought to work in radio fella 👍
Thank you, I appreciate the compliment and thanks for watching.
Seriously thinking of getting one of these since my iPhone 11 is end of life this year.
I think you would really enjoy it. Especially if you're looking for something different from the standard slab smartphone.
My only gripe with the pixel fold is my fingerprint scanner stopped working.
That's unfortunate, I haven't heard of many who've had that issue. But you're still under warranty so you should contact Google. They will send you a replacement
@@BEWellTech I'll try and get in contact with them.
if the inner screen breaks. you will be facing a 900$ repair bill. nearly double the price of the samsung or one plus foldable repair

Agree 💯

My OnePlus open broke on day 1. July 1 2024 lol.
Great review!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
I switched from iPhone 14pro to this and im glad I did, this foldable is amazing.
That's great, I'm glad you're enjoying it! This is still my phone of choice almost a year in.
I just bought mine. So far so good.
Nice. Enjoy it!

Nice review but video could have little more energy I was falling asleep
I appreciate the feedback. I'm working on getting better with every new video.
Camera is great for a foldable BUT P8pro is really another level (I own both)
Oh yes, there's no doubt the 8 Pro has the superior camera. Bigger sensors, better camera hardware all around. You can't fit those same sensors on a thin foldable.
yes, logically.
Focus on foldables is elsewhere, here's one of the best cameras (if not the first) on this kind of products
Stop the background music please!
I appreciate the feedback. I take everything into consideration for all the future videos.
😊 I love my pixel fold
Same here. It's still my phone of choice almost a year in. Thanks for watching!
No just because a few more months have passed into 2024..no it isn’t worth it anymore.
Not worth it at full price. However, discounted $400 off or more is something to consider.

Thanks for the sub, more vids to come!
🔥🔥🔥
Much appreciated!
The worst Fold on the market in 2023
It's difficult to make an argument against that at the moment. Especially with Google holding back features that other Pixels are receiving.
For that price of $1,800 most people would agree it's not worth it. Doesn't even have some of the top specs. Google, calm down!
Thanks for watching! Well today for sure that's the case. Still, my device has held up quite well without any performance degradation. I do have a one year update video you can check out if you like th-cam.com/video/B4cjmBLMcpA/w-d-xo.html
