You know for some people new doesn't always equal better. I can see how that can be the case for many people who enjoy the form factor of the OG Fold. So I'm glad that I see many people can relate to that sentiment in the video. I also agree with you, it would have been nice to have the option of passport form factor along side the 9 Pro Fold's, but realistically it wouldn't make sense financially for them. I cloned my drive prior to swapping the larger drive. Since the drive was a WD SSD, they offer a free download to use Acronis for cloning. I made a video on that process as well th-cam.com/video/G1jjf2xTGvQ/w-d-xo.html

What version of windows, and what's the difference in hardware between the 2 machines?

@ Windows 10 and the old PC is an HP Desktop going to a Dell XPS. Both are i7’s just an older version to newer.

Have you gone into the BIOS to check to see if the motherboard sees it? And what method did you use to clone. If you're using Acronis there is an option to clone to install in another computer. Sometimes that works better in a scenario like this, and sometimes the first option to clone to install in the same computer works. Which option did you choose, if you tried one then you can try the other to see if you get the same results.

Ok, what troubleshooting steps have you tried? If the BIOS sees it, yet Windows is not seeing the drive then it's possible that your SSD drive may need to be initialized. With your drive connected, go to the Start menu and start typing Disk to search for Disk Management. Once in Disk Management you should see all the drives in your PC. One may show up as Not Initialized, that would be your external drive. Right click on that drive and click initialize drive, or you may see create New Simple Volume. Choose one of those options. Next leave MBR selected for partition style, then select the default size, select the default drive letter, and then format with default settings. After that's done, reboot. Give that a try and then see if Acronis detects the drive. Hopefully that helps, good luck.

What laptop and NVMe drive are you using?

Considering the knock on it when launched, was that they used a chipset that was a year old already. Plus it was Google's first gen foldable. So, many questioned how it would fare after a year. The hinge, folding display, processor etc. That's why the question was posed that way.

Sorry to hear you're having this issue. Is the operating system detecting the drive? When you connect the USB drive, do you hear the sound of it detecting drive?

I haven't seen any documentation on Max SSD capacity. But I am currently up to a 4TB SSD on my ZenBook 14X. I can't confirm for certain 8TB would work, but I don't see why not.

I would need more details in order to help. Which cloning application did you use, and what NVMe drive did you purchase? Also, the error code. When you receive a bluescreen most times you see a small error code before it restarts. This helps determine the cause of the issue. If you could take a picture of the bluescreen and then look for the error code that would allow me to help provide you with a little assistance.

i used the macrium reflect application and i purchased a kingston 1tb NVMe and for the blue screen it actually doesn’t show me an error code it just say my pc ran into a problem and it’s gonna restart and it just does that over and over

what i’m thinking is that the windows isn’t working maybe it could be from the cloning but idk

I still see it on my end. But it only shows up when the screen is open. The setting doesn't show up when using the cover display.

I would say that would be best practice. But as long as you have completely shutdown your laptop, and it is not plugged into the power outlet then you will be fine.

Glad the video was helpful. I've heard from others that the Nano Pop straps were a little short. But you won't have that issue with the Rugged Armor, the straps are pretty long, so you should have more than enough room. Good question. So after you've completed the installation of the new drive, you will install the old drive into the enclosure. Then connect it to your laptop/desktop. The PC should detect the external and it should show up under This PC in File Explorer. After locating the drive in File Explorer you can choose to just keep it as is and use it as backup since it still contains all your files. Or you can choose to Format the drive and use the full capacity of that drive as external storage. If you want to format it just right click on the drive and choose Format. Leave everything as default and click Start. Once completed you will have the old drive as external storage. I hope that helps. I'm in the process of creating a video with all those steps included for those who would like that.

If you find a high quality renewed or refurbished it should last you a while. But you really can't go wrong when renewed Folds are going for $450 - $650, considering what you're getting for that price.

Yes, this case has quite a bit of room for bigger wrists. So you should be fine.

Turning it upside down doesn't work either.

Have you ever tried a foldable? If not, then this is the best one to try. Especially coming from the 9 Pro, but you'll have to be ok with losing a little bit in the camera performance department. The 9 Pro and Pro XL have the better camera sensors.

No, if you turn it sideways it doesn't work. Using something to elevate it like I did in the video works, and everything works like it does normally when it's elevated. So it enables Pixel stand mode on the 9 Pro Fold, and it will turn into a smart display like the other phones that do so in the Pixel lineup. Also, the fans spin up on the stand as needed to cool it, just as you would it expect it to. Hopefully that helps.

Sure, I will make a video for that..but here are the steps. With your Pixel 9 Pro Fold opened, 1. Open Google Messages 2. Tap on your profile icon at the top right of your conversation list. 3. Tap Messages settings. 4. Tap the toggle next to "List detail view" to turn off conversation next to the conversation list. Now you will see the conversation list full screen, and when you open the conversation it will open full screen.

This could be caused by a number of things. It could be a corrupted source drive, or even a faulty target drive. The logs would provide the information that's needed to really pinpoint the cause. Does it happen at exactly the same point during the cloning process?

@BEWellTech it does indeed. Always seems to get to the "3 out of 7". Then jumps to 7 out of 7 after a few mins and says clone failed. It looks like it doing it when trying to do the operating system but I'll need to check the logs.

You should run a CHKDSK on your source drive. Do you know how to do that? If not then follow these steps. 1. Go to File Explorer. 2. Right-click the drive, then click Properties. 3. Then go to the Tools tab. 4. In the Error Checking section click Check. 5. Once the scan is complete, click show details to get more information about the results of the scan. If it does find errors, you can attempt to have the CHKDSK fix those errors. Then you may be able to successfully clone the drive. Hopefully that helps. Good luck.

Sure, it will work on your machine. You should also take a look at the WD Blue SN5000 which replaced that drive, or the WD_BLACK 1TB SN770 both are slightly faster drives.

Thanks for the reply. I see it on there but at the bottom under disk 2 and it says unallocated. it doesn't show it on the top portion where all the other drives are. When i right click it, it doesn't give me an option to initialize drive. it has an option to "new simple volume"

Ok, in that case choose new simple volume. Then select the default size, and then select the default drive letter and then format with default settings.

Try to unplug it, restart the computer, then plug it into a different USB port and try again to see if Acronis detects it.

Yes, this is exactly what Google's intention was when they launched the Tensor chipset. To follow the Apple model when it comes to hardware, and each iteration has gotten better and better.

That is correct. This will create an exact clone of your drive with Windows on it. Then once the cloning has been completed you will swap drives and then boot up to windows like you normally would. I hope this helps, all the best.

Oh no, it's unfortunate you had that experience, but thanks for sharing. Hopefully a future update can resolve that issue for others who may be seeing that. Personally I haven't had a bluetooth range issue with the earbuds or devices I've used with my P9PF, but so many factors play a role depending on the devices that are used, so everyone's experience will be different. We find all kinds of things for devices when we do a G search. Before I picked up a OnePlus Open earlier in the year I saw things that I looked out for and thankfully never experienced.

At $600 it's a great buy. My Pixel Fold, and my wife's Fold haven't had any major issues since the Android 15 update. What I did notice was some initial wonkiness right after the update, but after a host of app updates in the Play Store, and a reboot, everything returned to being as smooth as it was prior.
