I feel like the OnePlus Open has set the standard for folds. I hope they have a newer version being released this year. Google and Samsung can learn a lot from OnePlus. Hopefully, we see some changes, in addition to better cameras on the folding devices. I love reading books and watching videos and other content with the Fold open. I'm watching this video on my OnePlus Open in the open format.
I love my Pixel Fold. I currently use it as my daily driver. Sidelined are my Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Motorola Razr +, and duo 2. Don't get me wrong, each phone has a unique aspect, but the Pixel Fold form factor keeps it in my hands. Keep up the great work man!
Ive had my Pixel Fold for 7 months and I LOVE it. I got it with no trade in and total payments of $900. It's currently even cheaper at ATT with no trade in and total payments of $755. I was Apple only before this but was so sick of the same phone being released every year. This is the only big name foldable in the passport size, making the front screen so usable. I use circle to search all the time and 2 apps are all I ever need open at once. I hope Google sticks with this shape and I'll happily buy another
I finally bought a foldable after sitting on the fence for years. I got a flip 5 for compact convenience. Never really use the small front screen so considering a Fold 6 BUT waiting to see if the Pixel Fold 2 is released in Australia (the Pixel Fold didn't) Anyway great video mate 👍
Love foldables and have had one since 2019. I had the samsung galaxy fold 1 and the LG G8X dual screen at the time. Now rocking my newer samsung galaxy z fold. I feel like samsung is the best when it comes to features & multitasking. Loving the outside screen on the pixel fold and one plus open though. Can't go back to a candy bar style phone unless it's something like the LG Wing, which still gives me two screens when i want. Good video jay 👍🏼.
So in all honesty on your day to day use what is your phone of use? Is it the Pixel Fold or the OnePlus Open? And why did you choose one over the other?
The poll should've had an option for "No, but will be in the future" or something that showed how much interest there is in trying/using one. I for one don't have one but i'm planning on getting one with the release of the new batch of them coming out later this year. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that are interested as well. Def add options like that in the next poll you do instead of only a hard no. Appreciate the video for sure.
Just last week I picked up a used Zfold4 at a great price and honestly shocked how awesome having a foldable is!! Foldables are still quite new and pricey, so when they start filtering into the used market at good prices more people will pick them up and realise what they're missing. 🙂 I'm converted!
As a foldable guy it makes it hard to go back to a slab phone. I've used Samsung, Google, OnePlus and even Microsoft and each type makes an argument for why these phones are the ones to use in this day and time. I'll occasionally swap out one for a slab phone, just so I don't lose the full on slab phone feel, so if I ever need to go back I can.
I want a foldable , but at the moment its , the price and the durability . The one I am looking at is the HONOR magic v2 as in the UK it has the best deals .
Absolutely LOVE my Samsung Fold 4. After 1.5yrs it's like new, just got one ui 6.1 with tons of AI features, circle to search etc and is a multitasking beast. No complaints. I'll never go back to non-folding. The price is a lot, but I just paid it off month to month with my phone bill. Easier than the over $2000 price (CDN). But I rarely use my laptop anymore because this has replaced it mostly. i'll probably go pixel fold next time if they improve multitasking and the huge bezels on the inside, but I like the pixel fold front screen dimensions. My Samsung fold 4 front screen is too narrow and almost unusable, but I mostly use the inner one anyway.
@loveracing1988 that would suck! Two years, still like new here. I can upgrade in August if I want, my 2yr contract is up, but it's working like it did when it was new (aside from the inner stock screen protector that cracked, came off/I removed 6 months ago). 🤞🏻 my experience has been all good. But one reason I waited until Fold 4 to go with the Samsung fold. Pixel fold is still pretty new and I'm a bit iffy on it, despite the better front screen size.
The foldables are cool, as someone into seeing new tech, but i have a smartphone and a tablet and a hybrid device just doesnt fit in anywhere for me personally
I'm literally the only person in my circle with a foldable.. I think it's bc most ppl don't really use the full capability of their phones. Long as the camera & social media works most ppl are good. I love my Pixel Fold btw.
Just bought one from eBay for half the price that is sold for on retail, price not much of problem now in my opinion you'll just have to get it used 🤷🏻
I tried the pixel fold but couldn't find a good use case for it. At least not enough to justify the extra width and weight. And now they are making the fold 2 even bigger. Def no thanks
I still rock my pixel fold but the modem paired with Verizon isn't good in my area . Only downsides to me is the brightness, no portrait video , no video out , no pixel stylus , no app dock like the zfold .
I voted on your poll, and at the moment I'm really into my pixel 8pro but I'd say I'm ready to switch off but it has to be the right fold that ticks all the boxes
I went from a OnePlus 9 pro to the pixel 8 pro. Even though the OP 9 pro is 3 years old it still hangs right with the pixel, if anything the pixel has the slightest stutter and hesitation and the OnePlus doesn't or if so it's just so uncommon u could put it as a flook.
I absolutely loved this form factor. I did end up selling after about 8 months with it. Kind of regretting. Just don't like tensor 2 and battery life. Looks like they're going to change the form factor and that's so disappointing.
I love mine and got mine at launch only 900.00 no trade in also still have my Z Fold 3 now almost 4 years old. It now some of best software with Android 15 beta so many new features bro. My Pixel last all day and but the mine have the latest updates plus software uses way less battery giving almost 2 days . The continue apps from the inside to out just closing or set to swipe up. The camera pictures are killer for my social media. Call software is second to none.
I like my pixel fold, however one thing that really irks me, and it's a ridiculous problem for Google to allow to exist is this?.... When you rotate the phone so that you get a widescreen and you want the power to be connected as you use that view, The power connection is on the bottom and the screen does not allow rotation 360° so that the power connection would be at the top... So you can't use widescreen view and have it plugged in at the same time due to a restriction in the rotation?... Absolutely dumb..
Hi am in the UK I had the pixel fold then x mas last year so a good deal on the pixel 8 on contract so picked it up at the time the Al call features were missing on my pixel fold but on my pixel 8 I had them on fast forward to 2024 traded in my fold for s24 ultra as I had everything I need with pixel 8 but found the square edges doug into my palm so swaped for fold 5 had the fold 2,3,4 before but this seem most complete premium build not that the pixel fold didn't feel good lady's you know the Procedures (FLOSSY CARTER) lol just ordered case with kick stand and s pen built-in prefer size and aspect ratio of the pixel fold but understand the one had use of the fold 5 as before didn't like it and I prefer Google software and ai so I think I'd always swap or carry both as they both other good but different things
Same here your post is identified to mine and from UK too but I've heard with pixel update and feature drops it's on the pixel fold now so ordered one getting it tomorrow so fingers crossed all the call features are there
My question is WHY should I use it to begin with. 1st. I pay absolutely top tier money, for mid range performance, and entry level quality control. For me just proposing this deal is insulting. 2nd. What is the purpose? What task can this tool optimize? It suppose to be a productivity tool except you don't have a pen to do productivity tasks, and Samsung's device can be used with a pen but it doesn't have a pen, so am I expected to pay close 2000 Euros AND remember myself to carry around a special pen just in case I happen to use the phone? If that is the absolute best the industry can do, I just get a Note 24 (I know they don't call it a Note anymore, but I paid for it and I am callign it however I want, so Note it is😁) have a somehow mid range display between a closed and opened foldable, and I also get the pen inside the device ready at any moment it happens to need it. So my question still stands: Why should I use it?
Ive had the z fold 3,4 and now 5 along with the one plus open. I go back and forth between a foldable and my S23 or 24 ultra. My only gripe with folds (samsung specifically) is the sub par cameras compared to their ultra phones. That said once you have had a fold its hard to go back to a candy bar phone. The vivo x fold 3 pro is looking good...the chinese rom is holding me back from buying it though The pixel fold I passed on despite being a huge google fan...they just missed the mark in too many areas for me. Plus if they keep putting the tensor in their folds they will always be a hard sell. Paying flagship money for a mid range chip just doesnt sit well with many. At least with the regular pixels they are priced well against say a samsung ultra device.
Right now, I'm using the Samsung Fold 4 but I'm really hoping the Google Pixel Fold 2 is a winner because my employer uses Google instead of Microsoft. I'd happily switch to Google if it makes sense.
You can buy one now at an actual very good price right now, im probably going to buy the 512gig version and give my wife my 256gig version just for the extra memory
Had mine since launch and love it. Thinkn ab gettin the newer version after all specs are final. Either that or z fold 6 ultra if that ends up being a thing
Battery life on the P-Fold is due to the crappy modem used in the Tensor G2. Soon as the thing is off wifi and on 5g, the modem heats up and tanks the battery.
Love my open, I only have one gripe with it. I wish we had dual volume controls, similar to the LG v60.
Samsung is great but they've gotten lazy. I'm a Samsung and Apple user but I'm very happy that OnePlus is pushing the envelope to wake them both up!
Jay for me ,it is the price of foldable phones.

@@cbarber5366 I love mine too.. & I'm with you about the shape. That's my only concern about the Fold 2.
Picked up a Pixel Fold two weeks ago and man its the best foldable ive used. Cant beat stock Android in my opinion and the form factor is great!
Great video, still my favorite device.
I cant wait I just picked up a used pixel fold for $650 on ebay I can't wait to get it its an upgrade for me coming from the z fold 2
I bought mine a week ago, fantastic phone

I have the fold 5 and pixel fold. I go back and forth between both devices.
How u feel now ?
So in all honesty on your day to day use what is your phone of use? Is it the Pixel Fold or the OnePlus Open? And why did you choose one over the other?
great video! hello from JAPAN!
Hello there!
The poll should've had an option for "No, but will be in the future" or something that showed how much interest there is in trying/using one. I've just got this phone and I adore it ❤
Hi J. I'm quite confused. You said this video was shot on a Pixel 8 pro. How did you manage to shoot HDR 60fps?
Still have mine, I won’t give it up and will wait for the next gen. This phone is amazing. I left iPhone after 10 years and no regrets.
Just last week I picked up a used Zfold4 at a great price and honestly shocked how awesome having a foldable is!! Foldables are still quite new and pricey, so when they start filtering into the used market at good prices more people will pick them up and realise what they're missing. 🙂 I'm converted!
I can attest to your poll numbers. Out of everyone in my family, church family and co-workers - I'm the only foldable phone user I know. LOL
Lol same here.. I'm literally the only person I know with a foldable
The size is good perfect for the hand just to much money with hardware problems from Google
As a foldable guy it makes it hard to go back to a slab phone. I've used Samsung, Google, OnePlus and even Microsoft and each type makes an argument for why these phones are the ones to use in this day and time. I want a foldable , but at the moment its , the price and the durability . The one I am looking at is the HONOR magic v2 as in the UK it has the best deals .
I was able to get it for $800. The trade in discount made it worth it regardless of the imperfections
Absolutely LOVE my Samsung Fold 4. After 1.5yrs it's like new, just got one ui 6.1 with tons of AI features, circle to search etc and is a multitasking beast. No complaints. Just wait until the phone stops opening...
@loveracing1988 that would suck! Two years, still like new here. I wanna use a foldable from Google but it's too expensive
I still rock my pixel fold but the modem paired with Verizon isn't good in my area . Only downsides to me is the brightness, no portrait video , no video out , no pixel stylus , no app dock like the zfold .
I use a slide-able 😉 watching this on my old BlackBerry Priv 😎
I voted on your poll, and at the moment I'm really into my pixel 8pro but I'd say I'm ready to switch off but it has to be the right fold that ticks all the boxes
>I'm surprised more of you don't use foldables
Maybe because they're quite expensive?
I went from a OnePlus 9 pro to the pixel 8 pro. Even though the OP 9 pro is 3 years old it still hangs right with the pixel, if anything the pixel has the slightest stutter and hesitation and the OnePlus doesn't or if so it's just so uncommon u could put it as a flook.

Just got my fold used for $700, great phone for that price! Definitely not paying full price...
I use a pixel fold and I have a Samsung Z-Fold 5, I have a OnePlus open and I have a Motorola razr Plus.
Just went to the zflip 5
After using apple since 2009
All they would need to do is refine it. I hope they keep the formfactor.
My question is WHY should I use it to begin with. 1st. I pay absolutely top tier money, for mid range performance, and entry level quality control. For me just proposing this deal is insulting. 2nd. Never use one i want try it though
I have Z fold 4 and 5. They are so heavy, the narrow front screen, and battery life isnt the best. 🤷🏻♂️

You can buy one now at an actual very good price right now, im probably going to buy the 512gig version and give my wife my 256gig version just for the extra memory
How much?
Had mine since launch and love it. Thinkn ab gettin the newer version after all specs are final. Either that or z fold 6 ultra if that ends up being a thing
Dont use one yet, really interested in the fold 2.
Battery life on the P-Fold is due to the crappy modem used in the Tensor G2. Soon as the thing is off wifi and on 5g, the modem heats up and tanks the battery.
I switch to 4G unless I need 5g
Hope fold or the 9 pro have 8k for video with hD video
Too expensive folding phones
Sorry mate but this fold is one of the most ugliest out of all the foldables ever made!
