Got one of these today from Amazon, for almost 50% off! I needed something, to keep my fridge, TV, and Wi-Fi going, for a couple of hours, during the few power outages I get. I live in the city center, and my grid gets priority when the power goes out, because the police station, courthouse, and jail are on the same grid.
Just got my AC70 and the newest vevor diesel heater last week. Took them both out last weekend and the AC70 was an absolute work horse. Powered the diesel heater with zero issues for a good 9-10 hrs on level 4-7 which kept the pop up trailer very warm and comfy. Also charged two iPhones overnight and powered my daughter’s sound machine. After all was said and done, I had about 28% left. Highly recommend the AC70. I will say I do wish the 12v barrel plugs were there. I plan on running a fridge and diesel heater during winter and the barrel plugs would have been perfect for it.
recently purchased another brand, with its expansion battery from a really nice guy, it was a good bargain, and you featured it in shoot out between three brands not all that long ago, and did pretty well... as always a great comprehensive video Matt looking forward to whatever drops next...
With dual batteries one for cranking and the other for lights. And a couple of super strong power stations there's no need for installing expensive inverters like the redarc manager 30 with 150 to 200w. In an overlanding vehicle. In my humble opinion cuz it works so well for me.
I have AC2A and I just bought AC70 and I did buy it to run my refrigerator. And I have AC60 and a B80 expansion battery. I am using the B80 to run my fridge. I like that I can use 2 solar panels in series to solar charge AC70. And it has more intake voltage than the AC60 and B80. Yes I can use my B80 with the AC2A and AC70 I have the aircraft plug cable for expansion. Great review.
I just got the EB3A for light duty like powering a few things during an outage and I tested the phone charger on top and the only time I can see using it is overnight because it’s so slow. I’m receiving the AC70 tomorrow with the 200 watt solar panel
Welp... After the Vevor Diesel Heater showed up, I realized my power station probably wasn't enough to power it... So this info gave me the exact thing I needed to know...and now one is on the way. (Which with the expandable power... that alone made me go... Yeah.. it's time to switch.)
Thanks for the informative video. I actually just picked up the new AC180 for $649 and 200watt solar for $250. It seemed just too good an offer to resist. My main use is for just around the house , camping, beach, and we tailgate for football games. Should be able to power everything for that nicely. For 58 cents a WattHour, think it’s a steal. It showed up yesterday and still seems very compact and easy to transport and carry around. Only thing I wish it did have a more dedicated expansion battery options. Was maybe thinking the AC70 might be by next purchase.
This is the BEST review of the AC70 I've seen so far - great job, sir, and thank you! Another reviewer cautioned about using the Power Lifting mode, saying that he thought that it could possibly damage or reduce the life of the unit. This comment concerned me because when camping my wife may want to cook pancakes on an electric skillet instead of on our propane stove, and this may require us to use the Power Lifting mode. What do you think about this? Thank you again! Like and subscribed.
Was just going to buy a Champion at the local Home Depot. But saw how fast this one charges and will buy this instead. Champion only charges at 8 amps 200W max AC and DC.
Thank you for sharing. Nice updated model. So if I use my iceco 60 with this unit at 30-40 watts, will still last me about 24 hours without any extra charge ?
@Ozark Overland Adventures Great video Matt, I always enjoy your content. Would you recommend this station for a fridge and more importantly..a cpap machine? 😂
Hey sir, I am on a tight budget but need to be able to power an ac unit when I’m out because my 7 year old is disabled and the temp really messes with his shunt. What size should I go with? Will be going for max of 2-3 days at a time when he’s with me. I’m just now getting into overlanding so starting off with necessities for the family. Been watching your videos and very good and helpful.
I bought an EB3A not too long ago, mainly to run my fridge overnight. The first full night I used it, it went from 100% to 38%. The next time it completely drained it to 0%. Not sure why, maybe the fridge was running more than normal? I also had to buy the 12V car charger separately. Am definitely considering upgrading to this at some point.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures yeah I am well aware that is the case and not an issue at all really, I can charge it while driving the next day. The difference in usage is what caught me off guard.
Well just a couple I suppose. I don’t have too many subscribers and it’s already tough for me to get to all of my comments and so I just wanted to be “seen” you could say considering the amount of comments you get. This is just something that I feel is next on my youtube journey but I’m completely ignorant with the subject and google isn’t too much help. So I figured I’d ask someone who was an inspiration to me in the TH-cam world.
Matt, do you think the AC70 would be sufficient to run a fridge and a diesel heater for a weekend? (I have a 100w Bluetti solar panel as well as a separate 300wh station for misc electronic/ lights etc ) I had originally planned on a ~1000wh station to pad myself, but at the price point I can’t ignore the AC70!!
The ac70 and your 300wh station together are perfect for a weekend for those purposes if you can charge during the day (with with solar or from vehicle). The only reason you would need something bigger is if you have any devices that need more than 1000w draw (e.g many home coffee makers, induction stove, etc).
@@davidcarrico3385 thanks David! We don’t use any big power items like that so i’m thinking should be good. Bonus is it’s expandable capacity should my needs increase later down the road.
@@VanWo just to clarify on the expansion, it’s not true managed expandability like the ac60 or ac200Max, etc. it will pull power from the expansion battery but it won’t manage or put power back into the expansion battery (as happens in managed expansion). So you would need to put your solar panel onto the expansion battery to give it power and have that power flow to the ac70, since the ‘expansion’ would be filling the solar input of the ac70.
The only issue with running both a fridge and a diesel heater at the same time is only one 12v outlet. Now one way to work around that is to get a Y 12v splitter. If you unplug the fridge while you're starting up the diesel heater you should get enough power to get the diesel heater going and after it gets going, you can plug the fridge in.
Does this have the same plug as the ac60/b80 combo that isnt 7909? Or is it a aviator plug with the 7909 on the other end? The cord that comes in the box with the b80 does that fit the ac60 and ac70?
I'd personally rather have a external brick. It would allow the unit to be smaller when packing your rig is what's most important. When you're gone you don't that the brick with usually anyway enabling you to have more storage space in the rig due to the smaller physical size of the unit with an external brick. Logically speaking an external brick makes more sense for these power stations intended purpose in my eyes. No disrespect just my thoughts process. Pulling the power brick parts out of the unit would make the unit smaller so when you take it on an adventure you have more room in your rig. Also it would honestly make repairability better as well. Since the unit wouldn't have the hardware for the power brick inside it if the power brick fails you can simply replace it vs having to send the unit back for repairs.

Let’s be honest now I doubt if it would run a coffee pot for 10 minutes.. I don’t think it would even run a coffee pot. These are designed to charge cell phones and maybe run LED lights. These units won’t run very long because of the capacity of battery will overheat. You cannot run home appliances on battery cell power. Don’t take my word for it buy one and find out for yourself. I’m just commenting my opinion.😊😊

AC’s draw a LOT of power. I would get the ecoflow ac, their delta pro battery and then their smart duel fuel generator with a 10 or 20lb propane tank.
