Apparently on the Conjunctivius+ tentacles hit you before their animation of popping out of the ground happens. And this seems to be consistent, you'll always get hit before tentacle actually appears.
@@bardoon_ actually it was. I just had to spam roll upon landing on the ground. This is what I started doing on my later attempts at this boss. But it's still kinda bs. Because the first time it happens to you there's no way you'll see it coming.
