I had 3 2nd Gen Probes, one of which was a '97 GTS. The 2.5 KL was/is a very fun engine. Chassis was good for it's time too. Mazda got it right. Shame that controlling interest by FoMoCo dictated what was stolen/allowed. In those days, everything that was good about Ford was stolen from Mazda or outsourced to Yamaha. Nowadays, Mazda isnt as bold and Ford is junk from factory.
In defense of Mazda, they're one of the few manufacturers left who don't use CVT for auto and still offer a manual trans in their sporty cars. One of the very last enthusiast driven companies.

@@tomus1993. Yeah the KL-ZE were mostly North American and JDM spec. Around 200 HP. You have a nice MX. I had an 323F BG 1.6, 323F BA 1.5 and MX3 1.6 DOHC. Never had a V6... But would have loved one...
you're better off going for a BP in the 4 cyl with a turbo. You'll require a V6 wiring loom for a V6 swap and most of the KLs came with auto transmissions.
