For real. Actually makes me mald every time we get a new geo character and HYV conveniently forgets that ZL is still, to this day, the only geo unit that has geo shred in their baseline kit. They locked it away behind C4 for Navia and outside that it's ZL or bust. Achieving 40% shred shouldn't require massive 5* investment or marriage to a specific unit nearly 4 years into the game's life. Gorou's skill should've been geo shred at 3 geo units instead of more geo bonus dmg, and Chiori should've shredded geo res for 10s or so after burst. So many missed and wasted opportunities.
Same sentiment like they could have even added to her ult like increase X% damage of geo constructs/resonance. I know it's sh*t but at least that's something 😕
@@anokage7403you get inherently 20% geo res shred via geo resonance. With zhongli thats already 40% res shred... On top of the res shred has crazy diminishibg returns once it reaches negatives. Hoyo absolutely loves trashing on cool animations. Look at Nilou. She has (in my opinion) the coolest sword wave slashing animation on her E skill, but how do you play her? E, attack, attack, swap out.
I no longer think it is a conspiracy that characters are actively made worse when they release around the Lantern Rite timeframe. She has a reskinned Keqing E and the most basic Burst ever; obviously she had no effort put into her actual gameplay. Of course her design is good since it was made long before.
It's easy to figure out. Overhyped Star Rail edgy Raiden will be released just a week later, devs purposely move attention to her (playerbases intersect a lot). 4.6 will be the other way around: overhyped girl in a suit in Genshin and some fillers in HSR.

Silly me thought that Chiori could revive my Ningguang (she was my first on field dps when i started the game), just like Cloud Retainer revived Diluc. Spoiler: It didn't, the only thing that she managed to do was to remind me how geo constructs are a complete useless and annoying mechanic.
I guess if you don't like Ningguang for whatever reason, Chiori ain't gonna save that. She just possibly gives Ningguang's teams some more damage. Probably my favourite Ningguang team is my Navia Ningguang swappy team. Rotation? Nope, just throw everything and go.

Chiori is their attempt to make a character who plays around constructs The idea is fo fun an interesting I’m concept But they made a powecrept Albedo with shitty animations X.5 Curse strikes yet again
She is a geo construct-dependent Albedo but actually better in regard of consistency. I think what is missing to make Chiori feel better is a geo construct healer. Could even have an ascension passive that heal the team if geo construct gets destroyed.

@@fzhs7030 the fact is that people don't stop playing genshin/whaling/buying welkin when a mid unit releases. a banner can underperform as much as it wants, as long as mihoyo makes a furina or (i'm sure) arlecchino, they won't lose much. i'm almost completely sure that they plan for poor sales for some characters, otherwise they'd try to make dehya better than what she was at release. also chiori's worst issue is not even her constellation-locked gameplay, and not her dmg output. her biggest problem is that they put barely any effort into her kit or animations past what's necessary.

My first impressions are completely different from Zajeff, I expected hell and she's doing way more damage than I anticipated and the switching is so smooth (and ofc she's beautiful af) Ofc she's still only gonna be used in the overworld for me, if only for the fact I have barely any Geo chars lmao
My slots are DPS is Up, Secondary is Right, Sub/Support is Left, Shield is Down. Actually had trouble in Star Rail because of the difference in the line-up (think it was Down and Left were swapped?), and was so relieved when finding I could change it.
Honestly I feel pretty good about her and she really feels like an upgrade over Albedo. And since I play Itto/Zhongli/Chiori/Gorou - instantly using skill as Gorou actually smoothens the rotation, as before particles from E get to Gorou I can use his burst and switch to Itto. The main complaint I have is about her doll attack animations and effects, they indeed feel lackluster.
I was glad that Navia was stronger than I expected, so I thought that Chiori would be like that too but, oh well. Guess I'll just save for the next character.
Honestly I'm perfectly content with Chiori. The problem with mono geo is its dependency on Gorou, so here's hoping the next Geo unit can replace him (and not require fricken C6).

To be honest, I don’t have any issues with her E. There’s a clear visual indication when it’s time to hit skill button again and there’s enough delay to hit the button a couple of times without it triggering next character’s ability (I play on PS5). If anything, I think her skill feels smooth and satisfying. And I don’t get the complaint about her animations either. It looks like any other off field character? Like Yae, Fischl or Albedo. Her dolls move their “hands” when they attack, so it’s not like they’re standing still. Her best animations though are undoubtedly her NAs. I think they might be my favorite in the whole game in terms of both looks and how it feels to use them. A shame that they’re useless without C6
@spidebot3045 yeah, Furina is for sure better in that regard, but Chiori has a visual indication too. To me it looks exactly like Yae: there’s a visual indication on the turret and then on the enemy I’m not claiming Chiori has the best skill animations ever, just that to me it seems in line with what we got so far
exactly ! we just want to unga bunga with itto, but now you get good bonus off field damage, but still her dolls look like dump on the field, they didn't have to be that ugly
5 minutes of practice and you can nail her e swap every time. It's just timing.Try tapping it three times instead of two, I find that more consistent. Press, lift your finger fully off, press, lift your finger fully off, press. No rushing, just normal "I want to click 3 times clicks. Close your eyes and do it if the animation is stealing your attention.
Isn't Chiori's skill not moving just like Albedo or Yae's skill though? what makes it different it's just a turret thing.. I guess it's not the same level as furina's
Turret of yae even it was 3 can hit only one target Chiori c1 or c0 with geo construct can hit different target at same time so you get more crystalized in process. Albedo flower easy to destroy but AOE Chiori Puppet Indestructible but only single target.
Damn everyones kinda shitting on her. Shes the first character I went for C1R1 from their first banner. I wish C1 wasn't setup like it was otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it. Sadly the geo characters I enjoy are Noelle and Navia and I would like the second doll so I can keep my options of teams a bit more open.
Chiori obviously is an unfinished character animation wise, but with my philosophy of wishing (I pull characters that enable main dps I pulled for), she completely pulled my itto from the depths of hell. Particle generation is enough, she has no er requirement, and with c6 gorou and a 75-190 crit ratio she hits pretty hard! Appreciate your thoughts though
Apparently she can hit the meka serpent (I forgot it's name) even when it's burrowing under the ground, just like yae miko. Look at 9:46 where the numbers appeared underground
I saved for chiori and got her and I do not regret that decision, but I'm very very disappointed with her infusion. This is entirely my fault for not reading close enough, but I was very much looking forward to using her normal attacks in Navia teams, but because her infusion can be overwritten I cant. C6ing bennett has finally come back to bite me.
game decided to troll me and win 50/50 not once but twice in 27 rolls when i was going for my last gorou con, i guess now i get to enjoy the qol of not needing a geo construct but any geo char.
If you have good placement with Albedo's flower - she's still an upgrade over him, but not big enough to justify pulling for. Also, the visual effects on Albedo's isotoma are a lot better than whatever animations and effects Chiori has got going on
Personally, The switch to next character mechanic is good. It lets the genshin team play around more with team order and is a new thing to get used to, making chiori more unique. This sort of mechanic is something they can expand upon to make team rotations tighter and mkre interesting
I just pulled her, and the thing that i appreciate the most is that her burst potential during the initial 4 seconds of her rotation is pretty crazy, Q EE + 2x talent trigger is so much motion value in such a tight rotation for a pure off field dps
I am heavily invested in Noelle and Navia and was really excited about Chiori…until I discovered she requires geo constructs at C0 to do real damage. I don’t care about the other characters on the banner. Pass.
Saaame. I was ready to spend all my primos for her + weapon, because I would love to have a good 2nd geo for Navia. The moment I saw how they purposefully gimped their synergy and locked it to C1, I gave up on her. Her C1 is such trash design. It's literally only a dmg increase for Noelle and Navia teams, and barely does anything for anything else.
I mean she still does damage at C0 even without a construct. Adding another doll is about a 40% dps increase, which is a lot, but it's not like she's unplayable without it
@Pheonee the problem isn't if she's unplayable or not. C1 is a problem because it specifically only targets this interaction. I would be less mad if C1 actually added a third doll instead. Chiori C0 was designed with the idea to have a geo construct as a requirement. C1 removes this interesting quirk of her kit, and does almost nothing for Itto teams.
@christianmoraes7206 you're missing the point. C0 Chiori is perfectly fine and a worthy character to pull. But C1 should not do what it does. I'd rather there NOT be a solution to making Navia work with Chiori "better". It hurts the uniqueness of Chiori's gameplay design. And it's of the most blatantly exploitative character design choices Mihoyo has done to date.
why don't you go Chiori -> Gorou -> Itto because Gorou goes EQ and mashing the E button is harmless. But yes the real problem is the terrible keyboard interface of the PC version that constantly eats key presses
Did he know he can't activate the first passive of Chiori by smashed the keyboard. Chiori if use passive after switch. In order to activate the passive the character need to do normal, charged attack or plunged attack to activate the 100% Consecutive dmg of Puppets.
The potion making event is pretty neat though, I haven't had that much fun on an event for a while now. It's just another mini game event but this one is neat cuz it doesn't hold your hand and lets you experiment on things as well as keeping things ambiguous enough that you feel rewarded if you explore how you arrange the potions.
constructive feedback: in the future, instead of calling it a 1st impressions, call it a "One & Done" ex: "Chiori Made me Close Genshin And Do My Taxes | Chiori - One & Done Overview" feels like that gets the message across in the title, idk just a suggestion. watching the rest of the video now
The first issue is something I foresaw, but was fortunate with as she perfectly fit into my Navia team - Albedo used to sit in slot 3, so mashing E gives me an insanely clean transition into Bennett's EQ. The second I don't really see, because in what way is it different from Albedo? You get the same thing, the 'construct' just sitting there and splash effects on mobs.
I just needed a geo unit that is consistent in navia teams, unlike zhongli, so i'm happy. She definitely could have been made better, but i'll take it.
Interestingly enough, the auto swap makes it possible to shorten the rotation by a second compared to zhongli, so it ends up being a pretty nice damage increase even at C0.
@@musicaddict9058 It is pretty nice, you need to positional well but having imaddiate Navia skill shot is pretty nice. Though with Navia I had always problem with too short roation, she hvae very short rotations already.
Interesting thing about the doll it doesnt have a projectile because ita not a projectile, it acts like a dot. Furinas adds are projectule that gets caught up in the geometry of the map but the chiori dolls dont.
I got Chiori and... I don't know man... I like albedo more... He's male and to me he's more impactful in non-geo teams because of his EM buff (I wish his passive for EM would last longer) I still farming for her so I'll see, but even in geo teams I don't see place for her. I love play geo teams, but I don't like play Itto and Noelle, and I couldn't find any teams for Navia with her. So I guess I'll just wait untill new geo characters release... Btw I like her overall design and her skill animations is more an upside for me because you don't need to track her abilities unlike Fischl's. I would like to Oz be more visible than her Tomatos. But her E swap is kinda pain in the ass for me because I place my characters in team in 1-4-3-2-1 order so after Chiori I want to swap to next char in my rotation but swapping for previous... And also I'm spamming her E and in Itto teams you want Q first and then E on Itto
The "use the next char's E" thing is an issue I had as well, though with Ning in my case. It's painful when fighting a boss and you lose your wall, weakening your burst. The swap also has a tendency to get your character hit, if done at ground level. You dash from out of range into range, enemy swings, as you swap and do another E, and you get hit. Ultimately, my solution to this was to change the team order, so that now Yae goes after Chiori. Yae's turrets don't poof, and she moves backwards, reducing the risk of getting hit. Overall, I think it is a matter of finding which character's E feels best to use as a follow-up for her, and to be sure to stay clear of one where placement/timing matters more. If your team has that right option, it feels great. If it doesn't, it feels bad. And even if you build the muscle memory to not do that follow up E, it loses you that smooth feeling, becoming more like just a regular character swap. The other way to work around it is to air launch with the E. The new character won't be able to use the E in the air, so the muscle memory won't matter. But then you do want a plunge attack worth using. But hey, considering I expected forced character swap to feel bad, that I have ways I enjoy it means I'm actually happy with it overall.
Another variation in Chiori mono geo team is Ninguang, using smashing E to your own advantage. However, Ninguang isn't the best option in DEF focus mono geo team. She can use Geo DMG bonus and Geo CDM but not DEF flat buff from Gorou.
Hey there. I didnt have albedo so for me she seems like a huge upgrade. Iv used her with noele furina 3 geo so far and she feels good even without construct .im a little bummed about the c1 situation but oh well. I really like itto so she isnt a problem there. Im gonna try her with ninguang too.
I love that we have another Geo character whose constructs don't get destroyed by enemies. That's a big plus. She may have better damage than Albedo, but the constructs not getting destroyed is really what sets her apart in my mind. On the other hand, when I tried her in the trial, I had to stop attacking and just watch the dolls to tell if they were doing anything. While I am sure I could get use to that, not having any clear visual indicator on the range of the turrets is a deal breaker to me. Again, I'm sure I could get it down eventually. But that was the biggest turn off on the character for me.
I like the idea of playing with constructs, but hate the fact that even with no constructs she does more damage than the character she copy pasted her kit from. It makes no sense - 0 constructs Chiori should do less damage than Albedo and 1 (or more to give her a buff, shame she doesn’t work like that) constructs Chiori should do more damage. She now made a unit completely useless, which annoys me.
I mean, to fix the botton mashing into itto skill problem, you could put chiori before gorou. But still, i feel you. I always like to have my dps in my 1st slot and my off-field dps/healer on my last slot so it does fuck with your brain a lot
@bromegaman5962 her skill doesn't snapshot so it doesn't really matter. I don't know if gotou buffs off-field characters. If it does, then she will get the buff even if she skills before gorou. If it doesn't, than buffing her for 1 second doesn't really matter
@@TravelerSaniar He buffs her burst too. The flat defense buff from his skill/burst buffs the on-field character's defense. His talent buffs the whole team's defense. Plus he gives Geo% and with C6 he gives crit damage. So using his buffs before Chiori would still be better. Though after thinking about it, it could be more convenient to do Chiori skill swap->Gorou abilities->back to Chiori to Burst->Swap to Itto. She would still get Gorou's buffs on her burst and some skill hits but you wouldn't have to worry about her swap messing up with Itto.
She's kinda what you thought she'd be though, an Albedo upgrade/sidegrade. The animations aren't great but 🤷♂️ I'm surprised the tone is so disappointed when she's exactly what you forecast in the prerelease, and you seemed pretty optimistic there. The title and thumbnail are a lot lol.
I made an oath to collect all Inazuman characters and their personal weapons, so.. Honestly though her attack animations and bust animation are sick, I can take the dolls looking a bit basic.

Nice to see noelle gameplay

My copium take to justify pulling C1: having Chiori C1 in Noelle or Navia teams feels like having Albedo in your party in the 5th slot.
I like Chiori C1 since I hate Geo construct
The problem with the 2 mentioned issues, they can be both fixed by making character swapping activate her skill
Shes still good in those teams even at c0
The x.5 patch curse strikes again
Zajeff plays the teams terribly and admits his own skill issue. Chat: CHIORI IS SO BAD.

The potion making event is pretty neat though, I haven't had that much fun on an event for a while now.

And also I'm spamming her E and in Itto teams you want Q first and then E on Itto
first post release impressions truly

Her doll doesn't count as geo construct tho-
If you have two dolls it can hit different enemy at same time (big points if your building crystalized DPS unit)
Furina says "Boooooring"
I like the idea of playing with constructs, but hate the fact that even with no constructs she does more damage than the character she copy pasted her kit from. It makes no sense - 0 constructs Chiori should do less damage than Albedo and 1 (or more to give her a buff, shame she doesn’t work like that) constructs Chiori should do more damage.
She now made a unit completely useless, which annoys me.
But why mash e? Just press it twice?
My mind the entire video:
Why is the shield on three reeee oh yeah chiori needs to be on fo-WWHY IS THE SHIELDER ON THREEE!!!!
I mean, to fix the botton mashing into itto skill problem, you could put chiori before gorou. But still, i feel you. I always like to have my dps in my 1st slot and my off-field dps/healer on my last slot so it does fuck with your brain a lot
Well Gorou buffs her, so going from Gorou to Chiori is better for her.
