This is awesome man! The lowpoly and outline is an interesting mix. Love the voice acting lol. Needs that 16-bit pcm compression for extra crunch. The particle systems seem a bit too high res, need that pixelated blocky look. But otherwise everything else is great, love the camera transitions between cutscenes!
I would buy the shit out of this. I'm just learning models at the moment and haven't even started looking at engines yet but have poked around UE and Unity for 5 minutes. The availability of this would probably make me use one engine over the other.
Hey that's awesome! I messed around with unity in the past and I personally found it difficult, but I hear good things about it. I love the blueprint system in UE4 and was able to find my feet with the engine :)
@@AaronMYoung Hey there! I know this wasnt made for Unreal 5.0 but I was curious if this is possible to run or if I need to use 4.27 ? I open Unreal in 5.0 and its just a blank environment like it doesnt have lighting. Just curious if this is doable to fix
Hey Peeps, I received a lot of questions about how to achieve a PS1-Esque style in UE4. so I compiled a starter pack that will help you get started .This is available for purchase on Epic Marketplace and Itch.io links in description.
Dude…. This is amazing. My idea for a game in this style is so daunting as a beginner. This is such a great way to get started. I will be getting this soon.
Hey thanks! Well I'm really unsure, I have been thinking about shortening the game so I can develop everything quicker (not cutting corners, just shortening the scope of what I wanted to achieve)
Enjoyed this video and purchased the pack! Extremely satisified with the contents of the pack! Is there a way to add more than one texture for the blinking and mouth movements? I tried to add extra parameters but i cannot figure out how to go about coding it in the material master blueprint. Also I got it mouth speech to work is there a way to further tune the switching of the textures when the audio has syllables? The mouth of my model will stay on the open mouth texture while doing a full sentence and I want to make it switch back and forth. Im still playing around with the sensitivity settings. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. I thank you for this wonderful content!
Oh I would like this also. Maybe make them somewhat modular so we could mix and match parts. Kinda like a character creator but that we can add our own models or edits. I’d definitely buy it.
@@AaronMYoung honestly would be amazing, id pay some good money for that! I am not a character modeler or animator, so having kitbash things with different attire would be sick as hell! thanks!!"
@@AaronMYoung aaron i want to ask u another question, do u ever think about adding the normal player control blueprint? So it’s not tank control only..
Does this have anything that can reduce the color range (i think it is called) so that it looks pixelated and the colors looking a little off, or is this authored in your texture editor?
Do you plan to also make any Classic Horror Templates? There are so few tutorials out there and close to no marketplace asset, I kind of miss this stuff from the old days. The old school fighting, locomotion and AI were simply another level of aesthetic beauty!
This is amazing, particularly the vertex snapping which i have been really struggling to find any tutorials on.
Cool pack! The physics doors look like they could solve many AI issues!
Thanks mate
Is there a tutorial to know more or less how each thing works when placing a sofa with a trigger it does not work in a new scene
omg finally.. template to make ps1 games. this just what i need as a beginner. thanks aaron💕
Hey thank you, I'm glad you like this! :) I hope you find it useful.
Awesome man, awesome. This gonna really help some of us set off, thanks
Hey buddy! Thank you sir, I will be doing more tutorials soon too :). I love my community and hope to see peoples projects :D
Hey some familiar faces here :)

the particle effects look pretty good!

I would love to check that out!
quite ambitious for a store asset :)

Unreal is easier to use than unity if youre not a programmer, however you can do this in Unity also with a Psx shader.
@@CloudlessStudio thank you!

This looks amazing, my only worry is most people won't be original and just sort of asset flip stuff now it's easier
cheers mate, oh I hope not I would love to see more original projects.

is it only for windows or this pack can be used on mac as well?

Awesome I would like to see what you come up with :)
It is time for Mega Man Legends Remake.
i wonder how it will look like if you will use normal maps, lighting and texel-space shading.
wow... time to recreate a game called "under the lighthouse" doppeee
Great job! When can we expect a "Project Nostalgia" come out?

Holy F*ck! this looks amazing! I was looking for something like his for my game. Very nice project!
Hey thank you! I will be updating the pack soon with fps character and more controls for both, including crouching and wall climbing.
@@AaronMYoung Oh nice! Sounds really good. Looking forward to seeing the next update then.
I love it!

could you do a ps1 character starter pack? Like npcs, bar tenders farmers etc ? Would be a dream! thanks!! btw, werent you using retro shader before?

Hey, love the pack. But I’m having trouble implementing this to my game. You have any tutorials I can watch?
Hey sorry for late response you can hit me up on discord I can try to help :) AaronMYoung#9787
this is really cool, amazing! but how can I add interaction animation?
Hey thanks :) the pack includes a example map inside of there Is examples of interactions etc.
A jak tyłączyc korekcje textór w grach na pc by było jak w ps1
can u make a tutorial of it. like a series or something? so we as beginner know how to use it..
Hey, There is a documentation for this but I will be making tutorials soon :)
@@AaronMYoung thank you so much aaron.. I really appreciate it🥺🥺💕

How do I extract this effect and migrate it to another project?
Such an amazing project. Love the ps1 style.😍
how do you make ps1 style sounds?
Hey thanks! It's quite hard to get a accurate PS1 sound, however I found tinkering with compression and sample rate does most of the work.
I am still waiting on an update for this brother, I know you told some who asked on the store page that you do not know yet but any news on this?
I updated to UE5 :)
@@AaronMYoung Already got my hands on it my man :)
Will use a lot of this in my current game, thanks for making this finally possible!
How to make a ps2 Graphic style
Would this be difficult to load into an existing project within unreal 5?
I have yet to test it with unreal engine 5 but I do plan an update release :)
Is there a way to make normal assets look like this?
Hey, I'm not quite sure what you mean ?
Does this have anything that can reduce the color range (i think it is called) so that it looks pixelated and the colors looking a little off, or is this authored in your texture editor?
This is a feature of this pack :) see documentation in description.
Works in 5.4.2?
Can this be implemented on a ue4 running on a Mac?
bump.
Unfortunately I don't have a Mac to test this out, really sorry I don't have a answer.
This is cool as fuck
Thanks mate :)
Does this work in first person too? :)
I have a new project using this pack it's easier for implementing fps

They support mannequin skeleton? Can i retarget that's mesh and use mannequin animation Pack's?
It has a slightly modified version of the default mannequin, but retargeting this to animation packs is easy to do using the retarget manager yup :)
