A true pioneer in the art of Comedy Ventriloquist Dan Horn remains "The Best" In 1984 - You Be The Judge? Dan has a large cast of characters- He is amazingly skilled at the craft of ventriloquism and manipulation. Produced in Scottsdale Arizona Dan Horn - still performs mainly on cruise ships, and I expect you will be seeing more from him in the future. Thanks For Watching!

It's absolutely unbelievable how lifelike this man makes his puppet. The skills involved are insane. Better than most these days.
Incredibly talented
The woman with the face masks is shit
Better then Jeff Dunham
Puppet? That’s a real person
He supposed to be a ventriloquist, not a puppeteer.
This guy is amazing he makes the puppet seem like a real person. That's talent
marvin s exactly I agree so much!
Agreed
What impresses me most is his ability to move the arms using the sticks so well and to good humorous effect too instead of clumsily and without even thinking about it too much while he does the ventriloquism and material.
yes if only Jeff Dunham could do the same
My right ear enjoyed this.
xXNiNjANaTiVeXx Thanks, I just thought they forgot to add audio since I had my ear bud in my left ear.
Too be fair this was made in 2007
xXNiNjANaTiVeXx I love the struggle of the left channel
😄 Good one!
I was going to point out that this a very unoriginal thing to say but this is a 6 year old comment it could very well be the original useage of this comment
Damn this guy's got skill.
Jesus, watch how effortlessly his fingers flip and spins those hand rods. That’s insanely complicated maneuvers and he makes it looks like like the easiest thing in the world!
Mr. Schwartz's Art Hour Exactly!
I spent *way* more time looking at the mannequin instead of the ventriloquist’s lips. That’s when you know it’s good.
This amazing ventriloquists always makes us forget that they're talking to themeselves.
Wow this is some amazing talent! Aside from throwing his voice, he's also controlling the puppet's face with his right hand ,the puppet's hands while, technically, talking to himself. The puppet even has life-like mannerisms. Talk about multi-tasking.
I think the reason this guy is better is because of the life that goes into the dummy, its not just moving its mouth, his whole upper body moves like a real person.
He's still one of the best vantriliquists I've ever seen
He laughs so genuinely towards Orsen's reactions. Love it!
I can't believe that little guy was 91. He's still preforming at that age. Good for him!
truly a great ventriloquist
I've been studying and practicing with my figure via youtube. However, I did sign up for a stand up comedy class! Lets subscribe to each other! :D
th-cam.com/video/W4BEH4I39Mw/w-d-xo.html
Luke Skywalker is a ventriloquist?
Lol
You are a genius
He is the joker ventriloquist
more like jim herpert
This just made me full on belly laugh!
my left ear enjoyed this....
***** gaaaaaayyyy
+berniemacsgreatesthi it's not gay... And why is gay used as an insult he was stating a fact the sound only works in one headphone 😂
Mika Kaufmann thank you kind sir :)
use... a speaker...
@RYG you can't inside a library
The voice, the body langage…
This is the best ventriloquist I’ve ever seen. Wonderful!
Everytime I come back here to watch Dan, he never ceases to amaze me. By far the best ventriloquist ever. Definitely top 3 ever.
Still one of the best ventriloquist.
How can you even compare this pure genius to Jeff Dunham? Jeff is really good comedian but Dan Horn is the one and only - the best ventriloquist in the whole world!
rozwaznyiromantyczny No Just No Jeff Dunham Is A God He Is Decent!
They're both good in their own ways. Dan is good on the actual ventriloquist aspect of it and the movement of the puppet, while Jeff is more on the design of the puppets, and making them feel more "lively" as their own thing. Jeff's puppets aren't as mobile on terms of how he can move them, but he makes up for it by making their movement limits part of his acts and jokes. Dan's puppets aren't as well designed, but he makes up for it with the higher mobility and better voicing.
@Babyhowdy233 Nah, he moves his lips to much.
Tip: Do not watch the Got Talent ventriloquist after this. It's like watching a little league game after the World Series.
Only this guy and Kevin Johnson.
he's so good i don't even realize it's him controlling the puppet by the middle of the video. it's like the puppet has its own soul
"not the kinda box I wanna get in" hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣
still the best. I wish more ventriloquists took the time to move their puppet like this. that really brought the puppet to life
This guy is pure geniosity ! he's actually in harmony with his own puppet that we cannot tell if he's doing the vocals in someway . A very brilliant talent.
those are amazing mechanics
My right ear LOVED this video!
Wow, this guy is really amazing!
Amazing how he can control so many things at the same time. Head, sticks, voice and his experessions. Usually ventriloquists have a very emotionless face when they talk from their stomach but he looks very casual.
So talented!
I love this over and over and over again and still watching
Aaand now I see where Jeff Dunham's "Walter" character came from.
Redbeard The Pink well, jeff dunham bases his characters on what he sees in life, and "old grumpy people" is 1 of them
as for peanut..... he makes fun of everyone alot and is a little (sometimes more) hyperactive, maybe it really is jeff's other side, or maybe he really was stoned or such when he came up with him
anyway, any ventriloquist would make 1 grumpy one, as they can be used in many funny ways
Kurachi84 Right, but I'm pretty sure I've heard Dunham borrow that joke about nobody caring if an ugly girl leaves you while playing Walter.
Kurachi84 Stoned,that's Peanut came around.
He is GOOD!! Dang, I've seen good ones but he surpasses all of them. You don't even see his throat moving like you do on many of todays ventriloquists. Great video and performance!
I am impressed with his arm control
As expected. Hes phenomenal.
heroes are my weakness brought me here :-)
but this guy rules
This is the best ventriloquist performance I have ever seen, obviously there is funnier or maybe more creative performances but when it comes to physical talent this guy is on another level. The body language he adds to Orson, the way he acts and laughs at Orson making it look even more real and the fact that you can't see his lips move is insane. Dan Horn is great
brilliant, simply brilliant!
the way he moves the puppets hands is amazing
Not only is he an amazing ventriloquist, his humor is right up my alley
You can't see his mouth moving at all! He's really great!
wow... you were right.. he's extremely talented how come he never made to the big time stage?
At that time, being ventriloquist wasnt a great job
Takes some AWESOME talent to manipulate TWO hands of a character like that. VERY impressive!
J PumpkinKing What about the voice?
Or skill
I'm glad you posted this. Brought back memories of my childhood. Dan used to appear on the Wallace and Ladmo show here in Phx., AZ with Orsen. I always loved watching him because he is good at what he does.
Im not even goin lie, I didn’t laugh not once but this dude got some serious skills
What do you laugh at
@@harukatakahashi8822 probably anything other than dated gimmick comedy from the early 80’s
@@ayeyobossman6151 gay jokes? You didn't laugh at that?
@@harukatakahashi8822 no
@@ayeyobossman6151 how about the pill joke one?
Cool. This guy is awesome.
im a huge fator and dunham fan which led me to this video and wow this is talent
Really? A burp? This guy is my GOD!
very very funny, we dont have to compare him with jeff they are both good in different ways
@Kroger Babb I wouldn't say wanna be he is a ventriloquist perhaps your particular standards are high but doesn't discredit Jeff's skill any less or make him any less of a professional ventriloquist than Dan or anyone else. Both are great like the original poster stated for different reasons and honestly well above mostventriloquist, let's be honest.. I have voice acted before which is challenging but not NEARLY as challenging as ventriloquism. Been getting more heavily into ventriloquism the past few years, it's a skill you can't take breaks from unless you've been doing it for years honestly and it's not easy by any means. Don't knock it or a professional til you've tried it. Then believe me you learn to appreciate the skill more.
It's easy to be a backseat driver watching these guys, criticize them much like fans on their couch complaining about that guy striking out 3 times in a row against a solid pitcher then you try to do it yourself and people would do the same to you. It's not as easy as it looks or as some may make it look.
@Kroger Babb Honestly if you watch every ventriloquists lips except for Dan's who's a rare exception, most of their lips move a little here and there but honestly too unless you focus on just that exclusively then you'll notice it and it'll distract you from the act, everything else. Unless it's really, really obvious which for Jeff its not. I don't think that makes himself an amateur otherwise he wouldn't have succeeded as a professional ventriloquist. Also keep in mind changing the voice is also key which has great at, not all ventriloquists can do this well. Altering your voice pitch, remembering your act and doing ventriloquism is not easy yet Jeff can do all 3. To be fair who isn't concerned with their career though?
I am not one to constantly compare with something like this as I enjoy both but I think in terms of just ventriloquism not moving your lips, yes Dan is better but also better than everyone just about. As far as characters, voices etc I'd say Jeff is better at that. So they're both good at certain things the other may lack a little in but being a fan of both I can't complain.
@Kroger Babb If I may which part in the video did Bergen moved his lips or mouth? I didn't see it move at all lol over his career I rarely if ever see him move his lips and here he did not from what I can tell. But you pointing that out just proves what I said earlier regarding all ventriloquists move their lips sometimes. It's literally impossible to put on an act for 10 to 30 minutes depending and talking while having full control of your lip muscles saying certain words. This is also why sneaky ventriloquists will also grimace, alter the angles of their heads or move their heads themselves to take the audiences attention away from their face or lips especially and more focused on the dummy or puppet.
I don't know who you're referring to with the world will see a true ventrioloquist when ita already have. Also some have also been on America's got talent as well as the world has talent shows. Some of them you can see move their lips but others hardly to not at all.
Dang, Orson is a savage at 4:02
This guy and Jeff Dunham should do a show together
Maaaan! I Love Dan Horn! :)
That is by far the best performance i have ever seen, the pupet seemingly has a life of its own, superb man, thats undeniable talent right there!!!
And Dan Horn is also an excellent teacher. His presentations at the International VENThaven ConVENTion each July are priceless.
Best i`ve ever seen end of
this guy is awesome!!! simply amazing how he works the puppet!!!
It takes such a great amount of talent to be able to get the audience to connect with the puppet on an emotional level in such a short amount of time.
i love how he himself laughs at the jokes!
Aww, Dan has such a cute laugh ^___^
That was great. He had amazing control of the arm movements!
"Wow!"..Absolutely marvellous.
Dan Horn is phenomenal! Pardon the last posters' ignorance as Jeff Durham's pretty damn good as well!
Nice job Joel helping all these artists get their starts...
legend
OMG I remember watching this when I was younger, back when youtube used the 5 star system. I've been looking for this video for so long and I'm glad I finally found it!!!
Thanks for your comment and for watching!
this is like the hardest comedy to do!! he is amazing
sometime i wonder why most of the great people lived in the past
Not the funniest stuff ever, but I cant see Horn's lips moving at all- or that weird throat shifting thing that Dunham does. So definitely props for that.
Nothing like Jeff Dunham.
Yep, Dan is better then Jeff
Noud Janssen This guy doesn't even come close to Jeff. Jeff, according to my humble opinion, is the best there is in the business, vastly superior to all the ventriloquists out there.
Berbur Atheist The only thing Jeff can do is say racist jokes and stupid quotes. The only fucking reason to love him is if you're gay
I can't believe how flawless he is! Amazing! But I'm going to have nightmares about that thing...
WOW!! Such amazing coordination. Really incredible!!
This was truly funny
Probably he is the best puppet in that year
He's still alive and doing well traveling the cruise ships.
who knew that John Ritter did ventriloquism back in the day;) still one of the best ventrilloquist acts I have ever seen.
Before Jeff Dunham, there was Dan Horn and Orson. I remember him form Wallace & Ladmo Show.
Thanks for your comment.
davidd strassmannnn
Actually this is from the 80s genius
***** Thank you for acknowledging that fact most people compare him to today's Jeff Dunham and others- Dan Horn was the original pioneer of great ventriloquism in the 1980's and was a regular on the longest running children's show Wallace & Ladmo
This is the reason I love to watch ventriloquist acts. Simply amazing engagement with the audience, and between puppet and puppeteer - great jokes too! Man, I wish I could do stuff like this. :)
not only is he an amazing ventriloquist and puppeteer, he's also a great actor!
Dan Horn looks like a 1980's version of Michael Cera.
Wow, this dude is amazing!! He makes Orsen so real, it seems like Orsen is actually alive!! He is AMAZING!! It's SO lifelike!!!!! Just amazing!
He is so good at it ! ❤️
One of my favorite ventriloquist acts of all time.
Dude!! Awesome!!
I love this. Needed the laugh
Dan's technique is great and stands up to video scrutiny quite well. And I've never seen anyone operate the figures hands so effectively. I had the pleasure of seeing Dan, live, back in the 80's in the Phoenix area and the audiences (myself included) couldn't help but have the feeling that puppet was real and empathize with "him".
That was an amazing performance!
dam he is a professional! And I love the dirty sexual jokes
He is epic!!!! Jeff Dunham and this guy is all comedy we need XD
This guys amazing! Couldnt stop cracking up
He ends the bit like a true showman... always leaving the audience wanting more.
Lol don't even try to compare Jeff Dunham with Dan Horn. All of Jeff's characters can't even match one single Orsen.
Vontaze Burfict No Just No!
what the hell are u talking about? ):C
Vontaze Burfict u r rite. I know im late af but ur right 😂😂😂😂
Yes they can
I disagree! Peanut alone is so hilarious. Jeff is still #1
This only works with my right earbud for some reason.
Audio on Channel 2 only like the good ole days before stereo
Same
Mono audio track
Excellent show and thank you for posting it, I enjoyed every little scene.
Thank you!
This shows how much Jeff Dunham bit this guys style.
His arm/hand control is perfect ★★★★★
Katalyzt
Why did it have to end 😭
i will never ever get bored of this i just luv it, Dan is amazing!!
This guy is super funny, he enjoys his own performance. Fantastic
Funnier than Dunham in my opinion.. lol
do this guy have any videos?
Dan is actually friends with Jeff Dunham
Both are darned good anyway!
Dan is better with the puppet
This is Talent oozing out in EVERY DIRECTION MAN!!! ❤😇
Dan Horn was phenomenal. There's been a lot of excellent ventriloquists in the last 50 years & he was one of the best.
