    Audio Gear used in this Review #
    XLR Microphone A - Shure SM58 ➜ geni.us/k56wJ
    XLR Microphone B - Behringer XM8500 ➜ geni.us/ohMnO2
    Desktop Microphone Stand ➜ geni.us/zyt9
    First, I'll show you the main points of the mixer and the surprisingly good build quality. In the package you will find the user manual, USB cable, and the audio interface itself.
    The 6-channel mixer supports a high sample rate of 192kHz, although I am usually quite satisfied with 48kHz and 24bit. The case is really super processed and made of metal. Only the side is made of plastic, which in my opinion is not so bad.
    In the third part I test the preamps of the mixer with two different microphones. For this I use a popular Dynamic Microphone from Shure and a low-priced entry-level microphone from Behringer.
    In both cases, I use a high quality summer cable to give you such a perfect comparison. Furthermore I show you in part 3c how to install and use the Yamaha AG DSP software.
    Finally, I will briefly summarize and summarize the benefits of this compact USB multi-purpose mixer. All in all, the Yamaha AG06 convinces me with its format, high quality workmanship, and above all the flexible application possibilities for its size and price.

    9:50 No, that PEAK signal has nothing to do with the channel volume. Channel volume affect the PEAK light in the MAIN OUT. The light near the channel volume is controled by the GAIN control that whatever the reason you have in 10 in both tests and shouldn't be so high... because it's clipping.

    It's strange to have music running in the background when doing a sound test. You can't really hear if there is any hum

      Some interface does not provide 2 headphone outputs. In this case, you need something like Behringer MicroAMP HA400.

    you showed the channel 1 only. If i put in a mic in channel 2, does it have same compression and effects?? how do you enable /disable????

    • @IAmMan-
      @IAmMan- 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. But the presets are tuned for intruments. But you can 100% replicate channel 1 settings to channel 2. Channel 2 also have access to amp sim, but you can disable that altogether. (The amp sim is the only thing on this interface that kinda sucks)

    Does anyone know how this stacks up compared to a dedicated dac alone for a entry level audiophile set up??

    • @protoman247
      @protoman247 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re probably better off getting a dedicated dac tbh. I’ve had great results with the Schiit Modi.

    Looking for some advice regarding this mixer. So basically I am wanting to live stream a DJ set on Facebook Live using my IPhone to do this. I have a laptop connected to my Pioneer DDJ-SB3 DJ controller. The controller has only one output (master RCA). So I am wanting to connect my controller to the Yamaha mixer and then from the Yamaha to my phone and also to my speakers so I can obviously hear what I’m doing. Is this even possible on the Yamaha or do I need something else? Cheers.

    Plug-and-play for live stream in Windows without downloading drivers, (without recording) ?

    • @ErnestoRivera86
      @ErnestoRivera86 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you need the drivers

    • @IAmMan-
      @IAmMan- 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are drivers, but works fine without since it’s UAC compliant (since Win 10 creators update or something). The ag06 driver does include additional ASIO driver, but for livestream that doesnt matter.

    • @ErnestoRivera86
      @ErnestoRivera86 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IAmMan- i tried in 3 different pcs. It is true, it worked for about 1 min, then you get a static sound for like 5 secs. Then it goes well for 1 or 2 mins, then the static returns. Its a no go without the drivers.

    • @IAmMan-
      @IAmMan- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ErnestoRivera86 ah. Actually I remember something about that myself, but I think I just installed the drivers right after, an since it worked fine I didn’t think anything more about it. Don’t see any downsides to just installing the driver tho.
      I think I experienced something similar with an Apogee Duet (or was it Apogee ONE) whenever I had an other USB interface connected at the same time. (But I am not sure if that happened using the UAC drivers only or of it happened using the Apogee drivers) Anyways, maybe the UAC drivers in Windows are just so-so and that there might be some problems regarding the timing of the clocks or something along those lines, since it does work without drivers in MacOS and iOS (and probably in Linux as well).
      I haven’t really used the AG06 a lot, since I own a few other interfaces. But it’s kinda a swiss knife thing that may suddenly come in handy. In fact It’s a very good interface/mixer for karaoke as it has compression, eq and good effects.

      @@IAmMan- i tried hard to like mine myself, but i just couldnt. Im sure for people recording musical instruments its great. I had no problem recording with mine. However, i used mine mainly to power a 48v mic and hear the sounds either thru my monitors or headset while pc gaming. Every 5 mins or so i would loose the output sound for 1 sec. It was pretty annoying.
      Im not alone (several threads can be found on the internet).
      I contacted yamaha as well and tried most of their "solutions" but none of them work. Some of them included "turning off your processor turbo mode". Wtf? I have an intel processor and game, why should I loose 30% of my processing power?
      I tried a lot, nothing helped. Too bad i noticed after the refurn period.
      Currently im using it to power the 48v mic, but the sounds to my headset are played thru the PC internal sound card. No problems on the playback like this.
