For uniform belts and weapon shoulder straps I paint blue 3M Painters Tape the appropriate color, then I use an X-Acto knife to cut it to the width and length needed. The nice thing about this tape is that is accepts paint readily, and its adhesive makes it easy to affix to figures, weapons, etc.

Nice idea. The problem is, that I am not an aircraft modeler, so I dont have them at heand. But I managet to get a set from Aber, specialy for rifles. It is a nightmare. About 10 micro photo etched pieces for 1 sling. :D But I can always choose what to put on and what not. :D

May I suggest Anyz 1/48 aircraft buckles for the strap fixings.
