I left my last relationship so emotionally drained that the absolute last thing I wanted was another man draining my energy in ANY way. I guess it shows emotional growth bc there was a time when I'd be trying to find a man to hook up with to "prove" I didn't care about the ex. I am not on a celibacy journey just had no sexual contact 2018 I work in a clinic that does std testing and the amount of stds we see everyday scared me many women are walking around with HSV2, HIV, chlamidya and now syphilis is back these stds are not curable .. it’s really grossed me out seeing all these smells and discharge .. people quick to rush into sex but hesitate to come to the clinic and do a CBC and full std panel .. the std rate has been up since COvid how people can walk around with untreated stds is crazy

What I learned with Celibacy, is how much time we waste with unproductive relationships. The amount of energy we expend on it. Work on yourself, your investments, your career path God has a plan for a life partner (hopefully) and even if it doesn't happen, you still need to live & take care of yourself.
Being abstinent for a while gives you so much clarity and discernment. It also makes your dating pool small but you become more selective and won’t settle for nonsense. It’s a blessing. I get grossed out/turned off quickly. It’s been almost 3 years. Saying the wrong thing or getting me upset is automatically a turn off. You have 2 chances and the third time I’m not interested. Especially when I’m trying to communicate with you and you’re shutting me down.
I went celibate because I have developed a detachment disorder due to years of men degrading me either in the bedroom or just emotionally whenever I was vulnerable enough to be intimate with them. Whether making fun of my body or how I perform or throwing my most vulnerable experiences that I shared with them, back in my face as a way to be cruel and humiliating. Some of these men were my husbands of ten plus years. I got tired of being compared to other women or treated like I was nothing. So...I stopped. I have absolutely NO DESIRE to be vulnerable with a man again. NONE. I don't even have the itch...it's repulsive to me to even think about being with them, either physically or emotionally.

Sad to say that it started within the first heart of the relationship 8mths of that was spent long distance. We barely had sex twice a month, and when we did it was empty, no foreplay, the same position, only when he wanted it which was almost never. No kissing, no hugs, no cuddles. I've been celibate for two years. I haven't had to buy condoms, take birth control, or worry about my PH. What I learned with Celibacy, is how much time we waste with unproductive relationships. The amount of energy we expend on it. Work on yourself, your investments, your career path God has a plan for a life partner (hopefully) and even if it doesn't happen, you still need to live & take care of yourself.
Being abstinent for a while gives you so much clarity and discernment. It also makes your dating pool small but you become more selective and won’t settle for nonsense. It’s a blessing. I’m patiently waiting to jump on my husband ❤. Every time I get my period and the kitty is std free I remember it’s worth the wait.
I get grossed out/turned off quickly. It’s been almost 3 years. Saying the wrong thing or getting me upset is automatically a turn off. You have 2 chances and the third time I’m not interested. Especially when I’m trying to communicate with you and you’re shutting me down.
I went celibate because I have developed a detachment disorder due to years of men degrading me either in the bedroom or just emotionally whenever I was vulnerable enough to be intimate with them. Whether making fun of my body or how I perform or throwing my most vulnerable experiences that I shared with them, back in my face as a way to be cruel and humiliating. Some of these men were my husbands of ten plus years. I got tired of being compared to other women or treated like I was nothing. So...I stopped. I have absolutely NO DESIRE to be vulnerable with a man again. NONE. I don't even have the itch...it's repulsive to me to even think about being with them, either physically or emotionally.

As a female who was basically invisible in a 40 strength engineering class of males, rhe things I heard when the lecturer stepped out will make every woman file a restrainomg order. I developed anxiety bcoz of that. But switched to Psych major coz of that & many other things.

As someone who has been celibate for a 18 yrs and I've come to the conclusion that I prefer intimacy without the sex part.....the cuddling and things like that is okay but I don't really want sex. Yep! I was with once for 5.5yrs and I know what you mean. The withholding affection and sex. Sad to say that it started within the first heart of the relationship 8mths of that was spent long distance. We barely had sex twice a month, and when we did it was empty, no foreplay, the same position, only when he wanted it which was almost never.
No kissing, no hugs, no cuddles. It conditioned me to feel uncomfortable with intimacy, meaning physical touch, people being close to me, and hugs.
