I remade the Fallout intro. I want to make more gaming content but I need for views for motivation, so go check out my other stuff and subscribe if you like it.
Welcome new faces. If you recognize this from being posted by someone else with a lot more followers, that's because this is my second channel. I try to separate it from myself personally and focus mostly on gaming content.
It was kind've a one of a kind deal for a while. Genuinely, no other piece of media in games say for some other exceptions, did a game intro like this that not only immediately immerses you in the universe, but also set's such a dark tone via visually displaying this worlds culture, and then revealing that said culture was completely destroyed once it zooms out from the TV, and shows you a devastated, and lifeless city. The narration that comes after it just adds onto this, but the cutscene that comes before is so nicely done.
I remember as a kid very gently setting the disc in the disc drive with my 3 brothers for the first time. We were blown away and had 30 min turns….it was rough but us brothers learned from each other’s characters to fine all the tricks
If I have to be the nitpicking bastard, only the corpse twitching that made the soldier to shoot it for the second time is missing. Oh, and the guy on the left doesn't laugh. Overall 9/10.
Yeah it really adds to the fucked up mess that is pre war American culture, also the city was more gothic and dark. It’s great but it missed a couple important details.
It works better with Fallout 2 because in Fallout 1 there is not much to be seen in 3d. Southern California is mostly empty, even the many settlements are lowly populated and small in size. The reason it works well in the first 1 is because the isometric approach works well in the setting, making it 3d will force dev to either abandon the top down overworld map travel which makes the game world smaller and more empty or just transtition from full whole 3d map to top down overworld map.
@@satriadicky3732 I don't mean 3D as in like you have full camera control. I think these games are meant to be played and seen from the isometric perspective. I mean remade as in the same way Super Mario RPG was remade. Keeping the games fully as they are, just with 3D real time models instead of pre-rendered stuff.
There's a group of people doing this as a mod for Fallout 4 called "Project 13" if I remember correctly. Still not as exciting as an official remake, but it's cool nonetheless.

it will never not be fucking hilarious that Emil saw a scene where, over live television, a US soldier executes an unarmed, restrained person, then shoots his twitching corpse while the soldier standing next to him just laughs, only for them to acknowledge the camera watching them and wave to it, and said "I think it'd be a good idea to make the male protagonist of fallout 4 complicit in a war crime" LIKE SERIOUSLY HOW DID HE THINK THIS WAS AT ALL A GOOD IDEA?!?! i feel like that 10ish second scene perfectly helped encapsulate the militaristic, almost impossibly patriotic society of america in the fallout world. the idea that the government encouraged its citizens to celebrate the invasion of a neighboring country (canada), and laugh alongside the troops as they execute unarmed people is so fucking dystopian its cartoonish, but the fact its played completely straight and then cuts to an advertisement for a car like nothing out of the ordinary happened sets that black-comedy, incredibly dark tone that OG fallout was masterful at setting and immersing the player in.
i once had a dream where i was in 3d fallout one it was like this but more older looking but i walked down a highway and entered some sort of town hidden withing cars idk my brain just weird
The last part would look pretty good as a menu screen after the intros played. My only real nit pick is that the soldier on the on the left doesn't laugh. While the one on the right waves with the same hand his weapon is in. Rather than his free hand. It just looks really weird. Maybe you have the camera panel on a little slower. But other than that, nice job
This is very very nice done and matches the original very very well! It should get way more attention, compared to those boring "made in Unreal" Videos.
The lighting and texture quality remind me of early 2000s pixar movies. Something about it feels more immersive, dunno why games don't imitate that style. Somewhere between realistic lighting and obvious cgi
Dude the amount of sociopath psychopath ass fuckin' players in this fandom is astonishing. Apparently murdering civilians and POWs is cool now, what a time you'll have at war.
i have like the smallest little nerd emoji nitpick, you didn't get the power armor soldiers being surprised by the camera filming them, in the original they were basically committing a war crime thinking no one would see it and then they notice the camera and you see the soldiers getting startled before waving, other than that beautiful stuff.
awesome! Although I kinda think that when you take away from fallout 1's intro the pixelness, It looses it's touch... Still tho! Amazing! Liking the video!

Interplay made such good Fallout games, I honestly think if the original team was around today and were still making the Fallout games, we would have gotten some visually stunning games along with just better gameplay and an incredible story. It's almost sad to see that this creatively driven team was bought out and more than half the crew was let go of the project. I know some of the main guys who worked on the original games are still working at bethesda but I feel if they where given free rain we would see some pretty incredible results. Obviously with theyre own flaws too, but still just something different than what we've been getting the last severalyears. Not to completely diregard the work bethesda has done, fallout 4 in my opinion is infinetally better that 3. 3 has a good story, just executed kinda badly is all. still fun as shit to play though.
