I've stayed in Paharganj several times and didn't have any trouble at all and felt perfectly safe. If you are looking for trouble trouble will find you. Cheap hotels, good rooftop restaurants, close to the train station. People from all over the world stay there.All kinds of people.

GB road is utterly 2nd biggest prostitution district in India and that part could be unsafe for men too after midnight but Paharganj is one of low class areas of Delhi
