Its really not the way normal pan works .. just that stall .. maybe because you can clearly see the syrup shuts down the fire .. and he makes sure noone burns themselves i guess for his own sake
Pan with tobacco specially is kind of a disgusting habbit but its prevalent in our society..
Sweet paans are great after a hearty indian lunch or dinner (most common in wedding parties etc) butyou can get it anywhere and everywhere as people do eat it whenever they feel like shoving mouth with sweet minty goodness .. most times it is overwhelming but it surely grows on you after a few times.

I tried the flaming fire paan several times. It's absolutely delicious and it doesn't burn your mouth at all.
Yup coz the flames go off as it enter in our mouth. I don't like pan but whenever I take my friends to eat it I always have to eat to show them it's doesn't burn.
