I remember my old man taking me to Target to get my birthday present and I ended up walking out with a new gameboy colour with Pokemon Yellow to go with it.

i'm 16 so unfortunately i grew up with pre-pubescent cod players. i wish i was born on the days pokemon was first a thing. now at college everyone loves these games again. for christmas i'm picking up a gameboy color along with gold/silver version (haven't decided yet). the only scary issue i have with getting this game would be if the internal battery ran out. i still can't wait to experience something that i wish i did earlier.
Hey friend, Gold and Silver is an awesome game! This Gameboy actually runs on 2 x AA batteries, so no need to worry my friend, and no need to take a charger everywhere you go! :D

I'm also 16. I think the first Pokemon game I've ever played was Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon on the GBA. I never really got my hands on the older versions like red and blue until about 2 years ago when I decided to buy the original Gameboy off eBay along with Pokemon blue. The simplicity of the game made it real easy to enjoy.
Get both gold and silver if u want, i bought crystal and green version for 4.11 each, sure they arent the offical gameboy pokemon games, but they offer the same expierence, can still trade with others, saves properly, and if ur worried about your battery dying theres an easy fix just look up on youtube, you need to save your game with a mega memory card or a (monster brain)

I’ve still got my purple one I got as a kid. Recently got a backlit Pokémon edition one but I started off at Pokémon yellow as a kid. I now own red and blue and I’ll slowly playing through them and it’s the best feeling in the world. Love the nostalgia

I had probably 5 of these Gameboys and ALL of the Pokemon games for them a few years ago. Parents gave them to Goodwill without telling me. That day is the root of my depression.
I remember as a kid playing my blue version with my gameboy pocket. When the game boy color came out I was so jealous of anyone who had one. I remember having this weird attachment to my gameboy. It magnified the screen. Had a light and a larger speaker.
Nice, just finished taking my atomic purple apart and cleaned it and repainted the shell, fixed the jiggle it n the battery case and she’s looking brand new and spiffy now!
I could still remember going to mall with my mum and Pokemon leafgreen was displayed in a mirror cabinet of one of the gaming botiques and how I used to lean on my knees and stare at it until my mum couldn’t stand it and buy me one. Damn old days.

My parents were crazy cool about these systems so when I was born I ACTUALLY got the Berry Red Gameboy color for Christmas and Pokémon Silver I still have it to this day and play it quite frequently

My brother had the purple transparent Gameboy Color, he had Super Mario Deluxe with it. They're lost now but I wish that Nintendo would release a transparent purple Nintendo Switch 💜

Great video and thank you for uploading it. I have my own Nintendo Game Boy Colour (transparent purple one) at home along with Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow version plus other games over the years. I brought the game boy colour back in the year 2010.

I even remember when I used to trade my Pokémon cards including mewto through which I got a kids almost all toys
I got the same indigo Gameboy and Pokémon blue version as well for my 8th birthday. We had over a 7-hour drive the next day for a family reunion and next thing I know we only have 15 minutes left. My parents said they didn't hear a peep out of me the whole way there lol
I was wondering how you're getting on with the GBC, like do you think it's worth getting one? Also where did you get the console and game was it online or in a shop because I'm not sure if gamescene sell them?
+Micha〈3 Im loving it, the only struggle is playing it at night or in the dark, it may be worth buying the GBA SP as it lights up fully. But i purchased it off eBay, local stores never seem to have it boxed.

How do you expect a game that's over a decade old (as well as system that's over a decade old) to be completely Brand new? that's something that is very rare to find
I mean in the context that it was never opened before. Obviously the technology is obsolete but there are examples which have never been opened on eBay (Though they are ludicrously expensive and few and far between.)
I have one unopened. Factory sealed, Grape color. Along with Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow and Silver, all used and in excellent condition.
+Michael Pychel just keep an eye on the super gameboy from retro bit .. search for it u will be amazed maybe it costs around 80$ it plays gameboy gameboy color and gameboy advance original card copys u need no more batteries couse its chargeable with any usb port cable u have it has a better color display and light like the ds generation and much more and it have the L and R shoulderbuttons .. looks like a newer gameboy couse its a rebuilt from the original gameboy back then
6 years old got a game boy and blue for Christmas, my brother got red, and they came with link cables. Still remember that morning, always will. Think we also got super mario, and a black mario fanny pack kinda thing with em.

The protective cases are supposed to protect the cartridges from shock & water.
But no I dont believe that cartridges came with the case.
Playing the GameBoy Advance (regular) in the car was also a pain in the butt. Why? Again, no light (but even worse) Great console and games overall

I had a GBA regular I modded it with the SP screen (the one with backlighting) so I could enjoy, I modded the regular GBA screen to have Front lighting and added it into my GBA SP the Front lighting mod is quite good
I already have the sp, but I like the GBA regular by its grip 😒

I remember getting the red version and clear purple one
As a kid my starter was always charmander. I play it today on an emulator and I choose different ones but charmander is still my fav. Once you evolve him into charizard you are UNSTOPPABLE!!! also, he learn cut and fly which is useful. Cut is a powerful move as well

Can you use adaptor to play without battery?
My first real pokémon experience is diamond and peral, I played blue once but I was to young to really appreciate it. About 4 years ago I borrowed my brother's GBA and Pokémon yellow and I loved it. I played Blue after that and fell in love with Wartortle, Squirtle will always be my favorite starter and I am so happy they released the original games on the 3DS family.

My chosen starter Pokemon was Charmander. For some reason I've always preferred the fire types. For Christmas in 1998 l purchased 2 GBC for my son and daughter,. each with their copy of Pokemon gold. After I bought gifts for my husband, and children, I had $300.00 left burning in my purse so I went back to Game Stop and bought myself an atomic purple GBC and Pokemon Gold to play along with my children. One of my most fond memories ever and I still play it to this day.

I pulled my lime green gameboy color out of its box the other day and I saw a sticky note on it for $20 from when I tried selling it at a yard sale. No one bought it, and the box and everything is still in solid condition. May as well keep it in case I ever have kids.

To this day! (almost 30) my best gift ever is the gameboy color with the yellow version.
My cousin had the gameboy and then he got the gameboy pocket with the blue version! I beg my mon for the same on my birthday!
Of course she barely understood what I wanted and went to the store and ask for a gameboy and some pokemon, bless the target employee who gave her the Just release pokemon yellow version and gameboy color!
No one had that in school, i became the coolest kid in elementary. I was the happiest kid alive!

My starter was Charmander, I was really into dragons and dinosaurs and I was only 4 when Pokemon came out. My cousin brought over his gameboy and handed me it and just I was hooked...I wasnt really able to read that well so to me at first almost every pokemon was pikachu, but I loved that game and still do...I actually still have that old gameboy somewhere.

I played blue and always chose Squirtle man. Blastoise always prevailed against charizard with hydro blast and against gary's venusaur just use physical attacks like body slam or earthquake

my dad bought a bunch of gameboy advanc games at a yardsale one year had like 32 games in the box and towards the bottom of the box was 4 gameboy color games i held onto them a week later found a gameboy color the lady wanted 2$ for it so i bought it xD, this was about 3-4 years ago still have the 4 games and gameboy color, my fav games of the 4 was pokemon blue and wario blast.
I have both of those my friend gave me a purple gameboy which needs some repair which I’m working on and my other friend gave me Pokémon blue which works just fine.
