#TheMazeRunner #Thomas - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
I read the books weeks before I saw the movie. The entire time I was expecting some weird grim reaper thing (don’t ask how I came up with that). This is way better than my unexplainable concept.
That's what makes book reading fun. Nothing can describe the monstrous grotesqueness of creature than your own imagination.
I thought of like a worm with short legs (maybe more of a slug idrk)
I imagined a white floating pig covered in saws… it was not a white floating pig covered in saws
I haven't read the books in a long time, but I remember the geri era being described as giant mechanical cows.
Mine was close. When they said “beetle blades” in the book, I thought it was some sort of cyborg spider ball of flesh of some sort with a huge mouth
The fact that he came out thinking it was gone that fast
This is a great representation of the book. I re-read it because I found it somewhere. The Griever is a nice size because in the book it states it was about the size of a cow, although a little larger. The screams of the Griever are right on with the metallic sound. The only thing that I'm confused about is when Thomas is one on one with the Griever, he was supposed to dodge it and go to the side while the griever goes right past him. And then with the huge cliff in the book, I'm not sure if they showed it, Thomas and Minho were supposed to do the exact same move with even more Grievers and make them run right off of the almost never-ending cliff. That would've been a great scene.
I thought the same thing when I watched the movie and I was disappointed because I was excited to see it would have been a great scene
At some point in the book I remember it saying that it was about 6 feet long and 4 feet wide, but that might be weong
I remember the Greivers were some sort of cyborg slug monsters that would roll into a ball and use spikes to move around.
@@rodotzi295 yeah I read that too
@@robertnelson9599 yea with mechanical arms and slimy all over
Director: Any ideas for a scary monst-
Designer: ** snorts a line** I GOT IT!
it was based off the books, the director and designers had no choice about what it was gonna look like
@@Capphy_ Brilliant observation, Capphy. I never would’ve figured that out after finishing the book.
@@alop9535 haha
“Minecraft tactics”
@@Capphy_ the monster is based on the book, but they changed it's design
You know, at this point, no one could have imagined that this is gonna be yet another zombie movie lol
It was crazy
Yep
Exactly why it turned out to be so damn bad. Just another bad zombie movie when it could have been so unique.
@@inevitable48 What really sucks is that the Cranks were not zombies in the books. Instead they were people that were slowly, but inevitably losing their minds.
Yeha they fumbled the rest of the series, first movie was good
If I was him I would stay under there until morning
I legit thought that when I was watching the movie
LITERALLY
I would’ve never been born in da first place
I'd stay there rest of my life😂
@@Chris-vt6nl hahahahaha
I personally loved the design of the Grievers in the movie more than in the book. That's mainly because I felt their descriptions in the book were almost incomprehensible and what I could comprehend, I found pretty silly.
Whereas here, the design is more comprehensive.
The description from the book is- the Grievers are slightly larger than a cow, the main body is slug like with mechanical arms, and and contracting spikes/ needles coming out every 10seconds or so, and very slimy/ wet looking.
@@pengoh_64ft long 4ft wide they move like slugs and there body’s look like the ones from the movie it describes them as fleshy and hairy and they have a bunch of metal arms and “stingers”
@@pengoh_didn't they also roll around and make weird noises when they stopped?
@@Bumbum62673 idk maybe
The book and the movies grey era are completely different
The part where Minho yelling Thomas’s name faded out was actually really cool
Idk, that little spot in the bushes seemed pretty chill.
You’d be pretty well hidden, but what if the maze changes and it leaves you vulnerable?
@@eoinoconnor5783 let alone anything like they can smell as it not only came back to the same spot pretty fast but hid in wait for him
Its like it could sense something whether infrared vision or smell or something else we arent shown
Am i the only one who gets frustrated when someone is supposedly wants to survive yet stops to just wonder around aimlessly and slowly out in the open like they were on a field trip?
Dude, stop making yourself a living target and start moving!
Hollywood 😀
That's true but in this case he did it on purpose so he could kill it
he was standing there to bait the Griever into the closing gate and kill it.
if you are talking about the ending of this scene, he was trying to act as bait so he can hopefully smush the griever. If you are talking about the part in the middle where Thomas meets back up with Minho, yeah that's annoying
dylan o brien likes to troll lol
Director: "Okay we need a creature that's gonna be in this maze... Something ugly."
Designer: "How about a giant larva? They are slimy and looks ugly..."
Director: "I need it to be able to kill..."
Designer: "A meat eating larva!"
Director: "It needs to be able to hunt down people too... Larva's isn't directly fast."
Designer: "Machines are though..."
Director: "So, we're ignoring the whole larva idea then?"
Designer: "No... We'll just give the larva one hell of an upgrade. You know Scorpions, right?"
Director: "What do you have in mind?"
And thus the Griever was born. XD
So long
@@benpete I agree. He could have made his point but made it way shorter. That's a bit much to read.
@@TheTrytix yea
You tried too hard bro
They look more like fleas instead of larva to me, just saying :/
1:53 To me that sounded like Ben’s demise
Yeah same I thought it was just me
@@sagnuto881 Me too
@@sagnuto881 I've actually been waiting for literally the right moment (a suitable video clip) to share my perspective
Bens demise? What does that mean?
Ben was the guy that attacked Tomas and was banished to die In the maze.
I thought in the book that grievers were described as more slug-like
They were... they fucked up a lot of the loar in this movie portrayal
They were. They also didn’t attack in massive waves like in that one scene. Instead they came one at a time and took single survivors rather than multiple at the same time.
They would have looked stupid as hell. This version of grievers I like better then the books.
They also were described as having pulsating bulbous bodies and were more machine then animal
bro chill, it’s based on the book, not the book transformed into a movie
I legit imagined these things as giant gummy rolly pullies and spikes sticking out of their bodies... needless to say this was better.
sameeeeee
i imagined them the exact same way, i like this better too.
Dude that’s exactly how I thought they looked like
this version of the grievers is way better than the book one tbh
What’s the difference?
@@KeruToLthe book described it as basically a grotesque hairy, pale green, and wet slug-like blob with many random mechanical arms. They also had some lights and had a burning, oily smell ( prolly cause they're mechanical) and are roughly cow-sized. They would also make horrible, disturbing moans that was described by Thomas in the book as " the sound of soldiers dying in a battlefield ". The way they mainly got around in the books was they rolled around as the mechanical arms would move out of the way to avoid being crushed by the main bulbous body of the griever. They also had no mouths, just mechanical arms, some being giant needles, buzzsaws, and even shears. Apparently the hairs on them are also dangerous because the hairs are also how they sting you.
My bad for it being so long, just wanted to provide a vivid description of the grievers from the books.
in the books they were a lot smaller, about cow sized@@KeruToL
@@KeruToL in the books they are cow sized, slug-like and have spikes that can retract. Also, they roll to move in the books, instead of having legs
I loved the maze runner monsters, I thought they were so creepy an they looked like they were inspired by flies wich added to the realism.
imagine your friend leaves you to die and then comes back and calls you crazy sob 😂
This movie is so underrated man
This scene was terrifying when i was 7 years old
I love the fact that these monster are part machine! Usually da tasty monsters are just flesh and blood. And the legs hitting the ground at 0:43 was so chilling
Who ever made the design for the Griever props to you
I always pictured the grievers to look like half-natural half-mechanical minotaurs.
I’m not the only one then 😀
Lmfao. Glad to see LotR assets still getting reused. It’s the troll! The face, the scream.
I almost shit my pants when I first saw this movie on this scene lol
Dont you mean Klunked and all jokes aside ik watchinng it rn and can’t even do it Iwent peace
When I was reading the books I thought the Grievers were giant metal robots that looked like rolly Polly bugs lmfao
I just finished reading the first book, and though this is an excellent representation, it is a little different. I think this version is scarier looking, but I prefer what Thomas did in the books to escape.
The part where the griever dies gives me huge “Run boy run” vibes
The WICKED when they see Thomas heading straight into the Maze the very day he came: oh well there goes our chance of finding a cure
Thomas: "Come on!" *Griever Starts Runing Towards *
I like how they were willing to do CGI for the Grievers, but they didn't add the monsters from Scorch Trials
what monsters? the ones that came out of the pods?
They had the time to create this maze, along with these metal monsters, but not to exterminate the cranks?
They were trying to find cure, cause if u r not immune u will turn to crank eventually. This was long time solution so they spent time in this and exterminate cranks when were attacked by them.
Priorities
May you please do that scene where gally says "things are changing" and the rest of that meeting
@4:57 "YOU'RE IN THE FUCKIN WAAYYYYYYY!!!!!"
When I first watched this i got jumped scared so much😂
I got to say they presented the monster scarier than i imagained in my book and i love it. But the problem is that its just too big. Thomas handle these creature 1 on 1 but here the monster is too strong so it also ruined a few things
This movie was so good, can’t believe the fumbled the rest of the movies
why do u think they fumbled the other movies?
I just finished reading the book and then came back to this scene. Yup, the book to movie differences are very noticeable. Still, though, this was still good, in my opinion.
Grievers vs Whitespikes would gat crazy
This scene gives me so much anxiety it’s unreal.
the clip got cut right at the moment i watched this whole vid for. i am very saddd.
I imagine the Griever hunting down Cranks instead of live humans
The movie is crazy how would you stay there until morning
You’d be exhausted from running all night trying to hide. You’d eventually run out of energy with the Grievers catching up to you. There’s also really nowhere to rest or sleep. The maze changes and you’ll end up getting stuck somewhere with no place to run.
The way that thing came down it reminds me of a bloody spider! 😬
Why would you end the clip there
how is that cameraman immortal
prob a beetle blade
@@ChilieUwUdaddy123 💀
I’m literally reading the book the first one about maze Runner, and I decided what river would look like even though I saw some clips
I’m just surprised that Wicked couldn’t rewire these things to target the infected
In the outside world is a sandy baren wasteland and rivers need moist places to live and operate.
SMH why are there so many slow people in horror stories
What is SMH
@@bigmakers9417 shake my head
Hooray for Hollywood maybe? FWIW. Time does seem to slow down when the adrenaline kicks in.
You can't blame them for being slow
Hes probably faster than u
This movie is 10 years ago
damn
Thank you for this share!
I'm reading the book and I imagined a pink slimy thing on wheels with metallic spiky arms 😭
this comes up as a song on google when you search griever :)
Ok so tbh reading the book idk why but I thought the grevier was gonna look more like a disformed boar but with more machinery.
What people should be doing if they’re in a horror movie
This is good 🥶👌☠️
Yo dudes I translated the griever’s roars to “WAAAAAA WAAAAAAA I WANT MY DADA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA”
Just as I imagined they looked like in the book
19 months ago 😮
Run, stiles run 😂
As somebody who never saw the movie or read the books, what was the deal with the dude hanging up high against the vines and why were they trying to get him down?
He was wounded and they had to keep him safe until morning when the doors to the maze would open and he could get back to the safe area and they are being hunted in the maze
I run into these in my ranked games!
I would have used the vines to climb all the way to the top. 🤔😎😆
Newt says the vines don’t reach the top.
This cameraman has the most resilient and i dont give a fuck attitude ever
I was kind of dissapointed when I saw the grievers in this movie. I was hoping they would be more machine like the book. With engines nestled inside the main body. And they should have had an idling mode like in the book to not overheat them.
not me assuming the griever was a slug while reading the book🤡
They were slug like in the books, in the movies they're more spider and scorpion like
0:59 a griever kills to Ben :(
2:10 Inspired by Frodo vs Shelob scene?
Just stay under the tree till morning comes
What if the maze changes?
To be honest, I prefer the maze runner books than the movie.
I thought it was going to be like a minotaur but with mechanical parts
THOMASSSS!🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
There should be a video that is the entire movie but only the word greenie.
すごい⤴️⤴️怪物!😭💔
I wouldn’t let the griever run at me, I’d run at him on all fours and say ooga booga the whole time
Breh get outta the damn way, Minho
Real Cap I'm rewatching Maze Runner
ok tell me why the fuck im so obsessed with this
I used to be aswell
Me who just imanged them as like “circle spears” with spikes sticking out and like one eye with like a band around them like a minon ( DONT ASK WHY)
Did you really have to cut it out at the best part?
No ones gonna talk about that the grievers sound like freaking helicopters0:50
I noticed, from your comment. Must be made, to feel like a predator of the maze.
The chase scene is like in POPPY PLAYTIME and in JOYVILLE
I’m going to assume he didn’t make it and call it a day 😅 take care all
They only fact is the Didn’t give the grievers more screen time in the other movies, like what if in the death cure they go back to the maze at night and rescue some people still trapped there in the maze with grievers still lying around
unlogical 2:19 the slim falling down on him so the monster must be direct over him but if its jump down its some meters away behind him
Oh crap it's the KIkimora the one from the Witcher Netflix series
Thomas is soooo cute
True 😇😇😇😇😇
no ending, down vote!
So tell me why he knew there was something like that but decided to retrieve a dead body and why did he waste time when he could have run off with his friend before the maze closed?
Average lethal company thumper experience
The Grievers are nothing like described in the book bruh. Where's the engine sound, where are the random arms poking out of its boulbus flesh? Da fuk?

That defeats the whole purpose on why the gladers are there in the first place lmfao
