    Declan, Thank you for sharing your experience! When you spoke on your immediate knowing that Porto was your home I was deeply moved and have had a similar experiences.
    That similar experience, however, was in NM (USA). And although unfulfilled, I live in another place where I had that immediate knowing of home (still USA). NOW - I seek to find that “knowing of home” in another country, first to visit, but with the idea of moving in the future. While these *specific* places in the USA feel home, the overall USA culture doesn’t.
    Was the certainty-of-home feeling that you found in Porto and Portugal, inspired or influenced by USA cities that made you feel that way?
