This is a guilty pleasure for me. I understand people hating it, but I did grow up with this version, and I actually like the pairing of Iago and Zazu. Plus, this show got me into being a fan of the Enchanted Tiki Room in the first place. It's no original, but it's...unique.
ToucanLDM I agree. The unlikely paring made for some great jokes. The attraction didn’t change Iago and Zazu’s personalities and, that works for this attraction
ToucanLDM I agree, I grew up on this version as well, I think it’s. Good thing, it may not be the best thing in the world but it earns some credit for creativity
i liked this version too Am i the only one who thinks they shouldve had the zazu animatronic entertain guests in the queue of tge new theater for festival of the lion king?
Jonathan Oosterhof it also would be cool if they have a designated area from Timon to meet, and the Zazu animatronic is besides him interacting was the guests, kind of like the Star Lord and Groot meet up at Hollywood studios
I was born in 1998, and my family only went to WDW, so I never saw the original in my childhood. However, I had a CD of classic Disney songs that I adored, and the Tiki Room song was on the album. When I was six, I was so excited to go to Disney to go see the Tiki Room in real life, and my parents had no idea that “Under New Management” meant it would be so disrespectful. So there I am, sitting in the front row, huge grin on my face. I get so excited when they wake up the birds, I start singing along to the song, and then BAM, Iago ruins my magic. I still remember how mad I was. I sat through the rest of the show in a stunned anger. Then I ranted about it to my parents when we exited. This attraction was awful and I’m so glad Iago received the karma he deserved
A fun overlay, but I didn't think it lasted 10 years. I prefer the original from Disneyland, always did, and you are right that it disrespects the original experience, despite the animatronics being more advanced.
They should remake it as it was, but with a twist: now zazu presents the musical intro and as iyago tries to ruin it, zazu stop him again and again in a funny comedy routine for the background. The song still going like it did before. That way you get to hear the original song again, it appologises and disrespect the replacement as a sort of offering and gives something for kids to enjoy; if the song bores them. This also makes fans of the original AND replacement happy :)
Honestly, I kinda wish they would have just done something like that from the beginning. It would have been a fun way to plus the attraction, without completely overhauling it.
I like the idea of incorporating Disney birds into it, but only if they made like a four second appearance per bird. That’s it. Not ruin the entire show lmao
If you're just trying to shoehorn movie characters where they don't belong, just add Mickey. I prefer the old days, when the park was not just a commercial for the films. Think of it this way: Suppose you live in Europe, and you are planning a trip to Florida. A co-worker finds out and tells you he has a sister who lives in Florida, so please say hello if you run into her. Unless a meeting is specifically planned, the chances of you "running into" one particular person who just happens to live in that state will be practically ZERO, because Florida is a big place with lots of characters in it. The Disney universe SHOULD BE even larger; Mister Toad and Jack Sparrow should have NO chance of meeting each other. The best Disney rides are the ones that were not designed to sell the movies -- the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Jungle Cruise, etc. All of those have since been made into movies, but they are generally bad movies -- and even the better ones are not likely to age well.
"STOP THE MUSIC!!! HEY!!!!!!!!!" you know you've done something wrong when your own attraction is telling itself to stop in a shrill and interrupting voice lol Great video!
I get most of these points, but I think the dichotomy between Zazu and Iago works really well. I'd love to see the two interact more, but probably without messing with the Tiki Room.
As a lover of the original Walt attractions, I understand the idea that it's offensive to drastically alter the original, yet I also feel that the attraction is a bit dated. Geared toward an audience of a slower time. I saw the original in '78 as a child and was bored. My parents loved it though. In '99 , we saw the "Under New Management" version and the whole family loved it. I was not a big fan of how crass Iago was though. I'm interested to see how my 12 year old reacts to it in March. It's in my tour plan for my March trip and it's been many years since shes seen it.
This attraction was bad because Iago yells at everyone but honestly I like the tiki goddess and I think it's kinda fun to hear the tiki birds singing real songs. I wish you could still experience those things as like a seasonal overlay or something
...Am I old? I think the song choices were great (they don't feel dated at all), and that's basically Iago being Iago (I grew up watching the Aladdin Disney Afternoon cartoon, that is exactly how Iago acted). It's an odd couple pairing to team him up with Zazu (that is, their personalities are polar opposites), which is funny. And the goddess Uh oh a? Love that. I like the Enchanted Tiki Room, but I would have loved to have seen this too.
Amusingly when they brought the original back, my mom (age 50 at the time) said after watching it "I liked the old one better". It did leave us with a family in-joke though. One of my aunts is known for always causing some sort of drama at every trip and get together, so during a trip to Disney, one of my cousins used the Tiki Goddess' "Don't mess with me, you're stressing me" to describe her. And about 10 years later, it stuck.
I honestly think that Iago and Zazu are cute together. Sure they have completely different personalities and point of view in life, but that's what I like about these two birds being together. It's funny, creative, and amazing since I think this was the first time that they did a crossover that involves Iago and Zazu.
I grew up with the under new management version, and I ended up loving it. it hurts me to hear people talk this badly about an attraction that I loved growing up. I admit, it could have been better, and overall kinder, but I have to admit I liked this show better than the original. when I first saw the original, I disliked it, and haven’t been back since. I can attest that it wasn’t the best, but pls don’t give this much hate to what was one of my favorite shows to watch growing up
I remember the first time I ever went to the Tiki Room. I was so excited, because despite having been to Disney World before, I never managed to see it. I was looking forward to seeing the classic show, for the first time, but was tragically surprised with this disaster. I was so sad. I thought I'd never be able to to see the original show. I had no idea they changed it back. This is the best news! I was already planning on going back to Disney World, and now I know I have one more thing I HAVE to see. Thank You!
I visited a few months ago for the first time. I stumbled upon the enchanted tiki room which I had never heard of, and decided to check it out because it had no line. I was blown away. This was one of the most magical things I’d ever seen. So timeless and simple, but it was just so cool, I must admit it’s one of my favorite attractions.
My parents always got headaches in this attraction because of the yelling and arguing. What once was a relaxing break from Florida heat as no more. I grew up with Under New Management, was never a huge fan of the attraction but loathed it once the internet showed me what once was. Glad to have the current version!
I grew up in CA and didn’t know this existed until now. I’m so glad that I only knew the original growing up. And also glad that this was gone by the time I finally went to WDW last year.
Personally, I agree that Ahohah, the Tiki Goddess of destruction was the best part of Under New Management, and I wish she hadn't been damaged in the fire. Her home in Trader Sam's is cool and all, but I think she could have been repurposed for a new Pre-show or something if she was still functional.
Uh’ Oha used to TERRIFY me so much as a kid, I always screamed and forced my parents to move us to the back, but away from the creepy wall totems. Now that i’m older I’m like “Yeah, still a little creepy” 😂
When I worked at Walt Disney World back in 2017, pretty much all my managers would tell us how basically the spirit of Walt himself was angered by this attraction replacing his original one and thus set the place on fire. But obviously there was probably a malfunction in the wiring systems behind the actual attraction which caused the fire. But still to this day I like to believe it was Walt’s spirit haha.
I’m sure the Enchanted Tiki Room: Under New Management was geared toward the younger audience, but as a child I was TERRIFIED of the attraction. I rode it twice when I was 6 and 7, and hated every minute of it.
Still shaking my head as to why they didn't fully utilize Uh-Oa as a real animatronic in Trader Sam's. How hard would it have been to give her about 10 different things to do or say when one of her drinks is ordered?! Nice way to cheap out the experience, WDW.
I didn't mind under new management. I have a soft spot for the attraction itself and didn't mind the songs or story that was add in. Plus love how they saved Ua'oha goddess of disaster. To be place in Trader Sams! :D Heck I use to be scared of her when she appear in the attraction. I would be terrified if I ever made her mad. Great video by the way! :D Keep it up!
Hey again! I remember seeing this back when I was younger (Well, back at Disneyland, California that is)! But Iago in the WDW version is SO HILARIOUS, I almost cracked up very hard, lol!😊 Never knew it replaced a classic ride, very fascinating! I hope you can do a video on Zootopia Land in the future, it's something new I noticed this year! Till next time, peace!👍😉❤ Memorable channel, this is!
My brother has sensory issues. When we went to Under New Management, he went into a panic attack because of the lighting and awful loud music. The cast member was so rude to us because we stopped the show.
I grew up with this version so I have a soft spot for it. And I really loved the Uh-Oa animatronic. I wish they found a way to integrate her into the original attraction. Like during the "angering the tiki gods" thing from the original. It was such an amazing animatronic that shouldn't go to waste. And having her not move at all in Trader Sam's. Though I gotta say "replacing a classic attraction" is one of the dumbest reasons I've heard for hating on any sort of ride/attraction. Walt Disney himself said his parks will never be completed. That they will continue to change and evolve. Walt welcomes change, and we should too. (well, change that doesn't lead to disasters.)
Great video - I was appalled when I saw the new show, such an insult!!! I don't remember any of this since we only watched it the one time. Thanks for sharing some of the story behind the story. I'm glad the original (although a much shorter version) still exists there.
I’ve always loved the Tiki Room. It’s a nice place to cool down and escape the heat and be entertained at the same time. Either walk into a cool room to cool down and watch a show, or sit down and have an ice cream. But this...Id rather sit in the sun.
This was the first version of the tiki room I saw. I was young enough to think it was cute, but when I saw the original, finally, I fell hard. It's my favorite disney world attraction!
I grew up with under new management and loved it at the time. Seeing characters from movies I knew was really cool but if this was to happen now I would be so upset. Since I’m older I can now see all the beauty of the original tiki room and how historical it is. One of my favorite attractions.
I don’t get why Iago and Zazu having opposite personalities is a bad thing? It’s actually good comedy to have characters that would clash in interesting ways. This was a good idea, it was just executed horribly.
This will sound bad but I preferred this version... I like both versions but most the times my parents would fall asleep. I found it made the show more entertaining but the majority disliked it. I think Disney were trying to make a long running show more enjoyable because to be fair I've seen young people in the tiki room bored or more bothered about their Dole Whip and only the people who like that genre or have the show held specially in their heart.
I was there in December of 2017. I knew beforehand that the ride had changed back to the original. I gave it a shot. It sucks. Honestly, it’s only purpose now is to get out of the sun, rest your feet for a few minutes and maybe let the music put you to sleep so you can persevere back into the park. The ride has no personality anymore. At least “under new management” played some music that was at least relatable and was up beat. Sadly I don’t see the tiki room lasting too long before they put something else in its place. While your claiming that it’s rude, it’s does nothing more than “Prime Time 50s Cafe” did/does. I had to show my daughter this ride on TH-cam before and after we went down to show her what she had missed. There is nothing fun about this attraction anymore.
I miss this Tiki Room because of Zazu. He’s the voice of reason in the Lion King but, is abused by everyone. Here’s he’s still the voice of reason minus the abuse
If I had seen the show during my first visit to WDW in 2010, I would've probably punched Iago in the face. God he's INCREDIBLY ANNOYING THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE SHOW. Thank god the fire destroyed this atrocious attraction and they brought the original Enchanted Tiki Rom back. But hey if you liked the show, that's great. Continue to love it.
Why do you keep mocking Stitch? It had one of the best anamatronics of all time. The problem was that they had less than a year for a new ride. I think that reusing the original anamatronics was a way of giving respect to Alien. Keep in mind, Disney was supposed to be for everyone and people did not pay attention to the warnings, so a sue could have happened.
meerkat jmc I do agree that the animatronic for Stitch is great, but the rest of the attraction just really isn't. It's just one long gross-out gag which doesn't really tie in with the events of Lilo and Stitch. And as for the warnings on ExtraTERRORrestial, those can be found on most other thrill rides at Disney. They're their to give guest a heads up that if they have any pre-existing conditions or other problems, then them riding is not recommended.
@@andrewcb9255 I know. It was a great ride that was ward to see it go away, but with Disney buying Fox (I think mainly because of Simpsons so they can steal it from Universal), they now own the rights to Alien. Imagine if they could actually bring the original xenomorph to Disney.
Reupload? Never was one for the Tiki Room, no disrespect for anyone who likes it just not my thing. I am looking forward to the restraunt expansion in Disneyland CA to see what it may of been like if it was to open in the orginal format intended for it.
I wouldn’t say that hated this but I did ignore it for two reasons One: I had a problem with loud attractions And two: I didn’t know who Iago was because I didn’t watch Aladdin until between 10 and 13 looking it now I would’ve liked it but I guess I’ll watch some more Aladdin films and the tv series to get my dose of Gilbert Gottfried or just watch him in Superman TAS as Mr. Mxyzptlk(Mix-yes-spit-lick)
I always LOVED the tiki room, but now after visiting it recently I can't stand it! I can't imagine Walt Disney would be too pleased about its new update either!
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve even thought about this attraction and wow it’s worse than I remember!!! It literally just disrespected the original tiki room, never mind the terrible songs and Iago’s annoying voice lol. Also can we talk about how Iago and Zazu are GIANT compared to the other birds 😂😂 Glad the og version is back but with Disney replacing everything with IP’s who knows for how much longer 😞
All I'm going to say is that I love this version. Maybe it's bias since Iago is one of my favorite Disney characters though, but I love both versions equally.
I was a big fan of the original when I saw it as a kid (probably responsible for my love of parrots), so I never really liked Under New Management. But it did have two things I liked: Uh-Oa was a neat character with a cool design & an impressive animatronic, should have been part of a better attraction, and I liked the toucan voiced by Phil Hartman, probably thanks to years of Simpsons viewing. But I’m glad the original was restored.
I remember when I was in middle school, we hadn't seen Tiki Room in a hot minute, and decided to check it out. We sat in like 15 minutes of pure hell. I was so glad they took it out!
I don't remember the first time I saw the original Enchanted Tiki Room show in Disneyland since I was only two or three years old (back in '96 or '97), but my grandmother still has the song as her ringtone because I apparently was obsessed with it afterwards. I do remember seeing the Under New Management version and instantly disliking it because Iago straight-up dissed the original, which I knew as a kid (thank you to my parents and grandparents, who loved to talk about Disneyland history with me) was one of Walt's favorite attractions to work on back in the day. Even with seeing the impressive animatronics, I still hated it and told my parents that I didn't want to go back unless the old show came back. I'm happy to say that it DID return after that "mysterious fire" that happened to destroy Iago's animatronic, and now as an adult, I am filled with nostalgia and joy whenever I can watch the remastered Enchanted Tiki Room show. It is a masterpiece, and I hope Disney does not attempt to alter it again like they did with the Under New Management version.
I remember as a kid when I went on this version of Enchanted Tiki Room on a family vacation to WDW. I was so used to the original version at Disneyland that when I saw this one I was horrified and when it was over and we were walking out I was bawling my eyes out and crying to my parents and grandma "They ruined it! They ruined it!". Yeah I don't remember to much of it, but it was pretty terrible I'm so glad they changed it back.
It s funny to see how much people are attached to the old Tikki's room attraction. For a european who just recently discovered it at disney world Orlando (so the original one). I find it very boring, old and full of cliche on the music, the jokes and not funny. (No one were laughing during the show.) Most of your argument are based on nostalgia. A update version of it is very welcomed...
that zazu and iago point is really weak. its called comedic foils and had it been written better, it would have worked /because/ they're completely opposites.
The show seems boring. Iago insults the classic Enchanted Tiki Room, and the Tiki gods, then a Tiki god comes up and gets annoyed at him and burns him up. Then, he insults some more, and the show ends.
I like both, and I'm happy they brought back the original version. I think it was good for the time of the 90's and in truth, might of still been around if it didn't catch on fire. I take it either way, because I like both.
I haven't been in the Tiki Room in years, but I do remember that it used to be a soul destroying experience with people getting up and walking out in droves. On one occasion, my family were the only people left in there after the walkouts. This did stop happening after the 'Under New Management' update, so in many ways animatronic Iago was right! However, I agree it hasn't aged well.
I’m going to be 100% honest here. I actually really liked Under New Management. Yes, I agree it doesn’t hold a candle to the original, but I think the reason why I like it is because it’s not often that two characters from different Disney movies get together in an attraction. I agree it’s flawed, but I don’t know, I’ve seen worst Disney Attractions like Super Star Limbo and Journey into “YOUR” Imagination, that I find myself hating those more than this. Call this a guilty pleasure I guess.
We saw this when we went to Disney World as a kid. When we went back 2 years ago, we went to the Tiki Room again and I walked out thinking "Wait, why was there no Iago, Zazu, and Gloria Estefan?" I had no idea that that was what The Enchanted Tiki Room actually was.
Funny thing is, I was born in 1994 and The Lion King and Alladin were my two favorite disney movies all throughout my childhood. I was also (and still am) really into birds. I have three now actually lol. However, this version of the show never resonated with me and I remember really not liking it and really feeling bad for the other birds as a kid. Later when the show was reverted back to its original state, I became obsessed with it and the enchanted tiki room is now one of my absolute favorite attractions! I am so happy that this version of the show ended, because I honestly wouldve never loved the attraction as much as I do.
I think I remember seeing the sign of this attraction when I was little. Never went on it, so I didn't know how it went. However, I went to Trader Sam's once and I saw that goddess animatronic in there. Not gonna lie, I was so mesmerized whenever the "event" occured. That moment was the only reason why I would love to go back there.
In order to like the Under New Management version, you have to fundamentally buy that The Tiki Room, as it is now and was at the time, is really outdated and old. Which I do. Hardly anyone goes into this thing anymore. It feels like an attraction from the 50s. The music is very very much so from the 50s. And all the clattering is distracting. It doesn't really fit with Walt's vision of constantly moving forward. Never being satisfied with the work that he did. He was always pushing the envelope to do better. Under New Management is probably not the answer. But it does very badly need an update. Getting stuck in the past, revering the things that came before and stubbornly holding on to them, that's not what Walt did. He was always looking to the future. For some great examples, look at how the Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Carribbean have been gradually updated with new technology, something that Walt absolutely would have done. The Tiki Room just hasn't done that at all throughout the years, other than Under New Management, but it needs something. It needs to become relevant again or it's just sitting there with barely anyone watching it.
Better stay stuck in the 50s or 60s than be desecrated by Phillistines in the name of "relevance." Nothing is irrelevant. The word "relevance" isn't in my vocabulary. Also Walt is dead and the idea of the parks always changing died along with him. After I seize the Disney company in a hostile takeover, Make Disney Great Again will be one of the main guiding mantras as that is the answer to the question "what would Walt do?" which governed Disney after his death and will be under my rule. Disney can survive on its name and will be living on its name when I seize control. The average guests are idiots and It's Disney. When people see "Disney" they will always come. Quoth P.T. Barnum: "There's a sucker born every minute."
This is the first version I saw as a kid and the tiki goddess terrified me as a child. I’m so glad to the original is back it’s so much better, but to this day I’m still on edge when I go see the show...
KatZap yeah, but unfortunately it wasn’t all for the right reasons. Eisner made choices many see as the Disney Dark Ages. Personally I don’t really give one (but Disney Quest was pretty cool sounding) 🤷♀️
Lauren Dyer I understand where your coming from. But to me for all the bad choices he made he was always able to make a good one to make up for it. Unfortunately many ideas hurt the Disney company but Eisner always had so many ideas that eventually he would find one that works. He tried everything and see what would work. And taking those risks gave us some ideas that changed the Disney brand in huge ways. For good or for bad, Eisner was one ambitious man
KatZap I agree with you there, but wether for good or for bad reasons, it’s safe to say that Eisner was a controversial man. But he was ambitious, and that’s why his Disney reign is remembered the most.
I’ll put it to you this way. As a younger child I loved parrots. When we went in 1995 this was one of the things I Most wanted to see. When I went back intothousand andone and saw the overlay I think I cried a little bit. As I’ve gotten older I learned to appreciate it but in 2011 I literally cheered when I heard they were bringing back the original
I ALWAYS wanted to see this version. I remember being so excited when I heard about it as a kid, but didn’t end up visiting Disney World again until it was gone and the old one was back. As much as I have nostalgia for the classic ride, I can’t help but find myself painfully bored anytime I visit it in Disneyland. Watching this version on TH-cam it seems like a loud and rude mess, but I do think it should get an update.
I bet Walt was very disappointed in imagineers that the Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management made fun the original Enchanted Tiki Room and that really hurt his feelings. Because it was one of his first ideas to include audio animatronics. That’s why the attraction is important to the Disney Parks.
Hey! there was a problem with the audio in 2 parts of the video because of UMG copyright claims sorry about that!
It's ok I watched this yesterday with the fixed audio So I remember the lines
funny, i'd assume this was a critique and fall most certainly under fair use.
David Taylor we assumed the same thing lol
It's still a good video
Thanks for the help!
As bad as this attraction was, you have to admit that the animatronics of Zazu and Iago were pretty impressive
Walt Disney's ghost: "Alright, you've had your fun."
(fire commences in building)

Dennis Mitchell yeah, I wanna know now what was about to be said...
@Dennis Mitchell For real
@Dennis Mitchell Thanks fam
Dennis Mitchell conversation closed. Glad to be part of that fam. Suzette is a nice name, I agree. This is definitely an interesting conversation!
Even though I despise The Tiki Room Under new Management I still kinda love the goddess Uh-Oa and still wish they had kept her. I love the classic show and after they “anger the Tiki gods” I really wish Uh-Oa would come out because I feel nothing happens once they “anger the Tiki Gods” and I think that would be a great place to put her.
She has found her place in the Circle of Life at Traders Bar at Disney World. Ordering her drink at the bar will cause her to come alive once more.
Tristan Beaux i agree
The fire proved there might just be some divine justice in the universe, especially since Iago was what burned.
Exactly! Lol
I hated him from the first time I watched Aladdin.
I don’t necessarily mind Iago, I hate his attitude. Why are you telling me I’m going to be bored by what I’m watching? I’m mature enough to come to my own opinions on the show I’m watching.
Then it’s modern rap and... other stuff. Modernity does not always equal hip, edgy or cool. Especially in a place where it doesn’t fit, but you are trying to cram it in anyways to “appeal to the youths.” It takes you right out of the fantasy they are trying to immerse you in.
It is the main reason why I think Brother Bear is only an ok movie not a great one. That bear cub Koda’s modern slang killed my immersion.
Anyway thesis on “Iger’s failed attempts at being hip” complete. Punch and cookies are by the door.
Hey, good one! Gotta say, Iago never really annoyed me that much, but his role in this show... yeah, here he kinda deserved it. 🤷♀️
I dread to think what would have happened if the original birds burnt and only lago survived
I liked the under new management myself.
IS FIAGO
ToucanLDM I agree, I grew up on this version as well, I think it’s. Good thing, it may not be the best thing in the world but it earns some credit for creativity
i liked this version too
Am i the only one who thinks they shouldve had the zazu animatronic entertain guests in the queue of tge new theater for festival of the lion king?
At least these animatronics look more real than the Aladdin genie
Oh snap 😂
BruceyBrucee 😂😂😂
The Super Monteiro Bros. Yeah, that burn though lol, this remake is seriously gonna damage Will Smith’s movie career 😂
😂😂😂
Thx for liking my comment people! But Disney better have a billion buckets of cold water after all these burns we’re giving them 😂
I actually love both. I wasn't upset to see it close but I'd love to see Disney recycle the Zazu somewhere in Animal Kingdom
Yeah I love Zazu too.
I like Zazu too. He isn’t as brash. I don’t see Iago as that annoying but I know that is definitely not the majority vote 😂
I think he will be recycled for the festival of the lion king preshow
Jonathan Oosterhof it also would be cool if they have a designated area from Timon to meet, and the Zazu animatronic is besides him interacting was the guests, kind of like the Star Lord and Groot meet up at Hollywood studios

This attraction was awful and I’m so glad Iago received the karma he deserved
That is SO sad and it makes me so mad that it happened to you!! :'(
It’s also nice that you can finally play out your childhood they way you wanted with the return of the original attraction.
PineappleSeed YES!! I go every trip and it still (pardon the pun) enchants me
I was born in 1998 and I enjoyed it. :)
My experience was pretty similar, I was so used to the Disneyland one that when I saw this on a vacation I was horrified and burst into tears.
I agree the show needed an update like improve the technology and add a more wow factor but I wouldn’t have added Iago and Zazu
Tokyo Disney got stitch which is super amazing.
I don’t think so. Under New Management recieved more negative reviews than positive
That’s a great idea.
Honestly, I kinda wish they would have just done something like that from the beginning. It would have been a fun way to plus the attraction, without completely overhauling it.
I like the idea of incorporating Disney birds into it, but only if they made like a four second appearance per bird. That’s it. Not ruin the entire show lmao
that would have been sooo much better!
The late 90's were a sad year for the Disney Parks.
Ahem, Journey Into YOUR Imagination?
@@stereomonovici5796 That's a name I haven't heard in a while.
But then look at the movies that came out during that time

Well not all of it was bad
"STOP THE MUSIC!!! HEY!!!!!!!!!"
you know you've done something wrong when your own attraction is telling itself to stop in a shrill and interrupting voice lol
Great video!
I hate that, I loved that song.
It was a good idea at the very least. It was just poorly executed
Are you insane?
@@Vixen743 he’s just giving out an opinion
@@Sorcerer-SMC what would Walt say about this?? I bet he’s rolling over in his grave
I get most of these points, but I think the dichotomy between Zazu and Iago works really well. I'd love to see the two interact more, but probably without messing with the Tiki Room.
For me rid Iago And Make Or Not Zazu (Don't the current location) . But without messing it
As a lover of the original Walt attractions, I understand the idea that it's offensive to drastically alter the original, yet I also feel that the attraction is a bit dated.
Trust me -- you didn't miss anything. The original was and is once again the better version of this show.
This overlay was my first tiki room experience. Didn't know what I was missing.
Same here
my first and only tiki room experience is the original one since I go to Disney World and the one there has been untouched
But still to this day I like to believe it was Walt’s spirit haha.
my father kept talking about how much he missed this version of the show when we went in december. the tiki goddess was a really nice addition
It was cheaper for them not to animate her
I didn't mind under new management.
Zootopia Land looks AMAZING
Well, Iago DID get the punishment he deserved!
...two different ways.
catluvr2 😂😂😂😂😂
My brother has sensory issues. When we went to Under New Management, he went into a panic attack because of the lighting and awful loud music. The cast member was so rude to us because we stopped the show.
I had no idea it went on for so long! And I feel like they should have kept the concept of an animatronic god in the show it was so cool
It was awesome!
Uh-Oa!
Me and my family will always love this show, we still love it today!
I always love the enhanted tiki room and it should be kept that way in its original forum.
How would you have executed the comedy to make it better? Like you, I think Iago and Zazu had an interesting dynamic
Agreed. It's a pretty standard comedy pairing
I agree. It wasn't a very strong point.
Agreed most comedies have people with opposite personalities
Uh-Oa really creeped me out when I was little. I had some pretty interesting nightmares.
I actually like Gilbert Gottfried but not changing the original tiki room
This actually sounds like an amazing attraction! If this ever came back, I'LL BE FIRST IN LINE!
It was also an insult to Walt Disney himself smh
Imagine if they could actually bring the original xenomorph to Disney.
meerkat jmc No doubt would be cool but I assume with the Fox license they'll focus on bringing marvel to the Orlando parks
@@andrewcb9255 At this point,
I dont know what the plan is. The only we thing we do know is the Star Wars expansion and the Tron expansion.
@@SirBlackReeds No matter the name of the ride, it has always been controversial
Zazu and Iago being a pair makes great sense, to me. It's a classic comedy duo - the smart one and the dumb one.
Many people (myself included) believed that the fire was a mercy killing.
Reupload? Never was one for the Tiki Room, no disrespect for anyone who likes it just not my thing. I am looking forward to the restraunt expansion in Disneyland CA to see what it may of been like if it was to open in the orginal format intended for it.
That’s sorta cool, I live near WDW so I may not be able to see the original format.
Tiki Room will always be a classic to me, I'm so glad they put it back in the original form. So disrespectful of them to change it like that.
I wouldn’t say that hated this but I did ignore it for two reasons
One: I had a problem with loud attractions
And two: I didn’t know who Iago was because I didn’t watch Aladdin until between 10 and 13
looking it now I would’ve liked it but I guess I’ll watch some more Aladdin films and the tv series to get my dose of Gilbert Gottfried or just watch him in Superman TAS as Mr. Mxyzptlk(Mix-yes-spit-lick)
I always LOVED the tiki room, but now after visiting it recently I can't stand it! I can't imagine Walt Disney would be too pleased about its new update either!
Next Disney Disaster Episode is SuperStar Limo
Naw. Defunctland already did a pretty thorough episode about Superstar Limo.
I agree with you
I would rather have California Adveture in its early years as the next Disney disaster.
The next Disney Disaster is DEFINITELY Superstar Limo lol
Fastpass Facts yeah, get on that. I’ve seen some pretty good videos on Superstar Limo so I’d love to see your opinions!! 😁
I wonder if the Zazu animatronic is becoming to interact when guests see them at The festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
I love those talking birds c:
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve even thought about this attraction and wow it’s worse than I remember!!! It literally just disrespected the original tiki room, never mind the terrible songs and Iago’s annoying voice lol. Also can we talk about how Iago and Zazu are GIANT compared to the other birds 😂😂 Glad the og version is back but with Disney replacing everything with IP’s who knows for how much longer 😞
All I'm going to say is that I love this version. Maybe it's bias since Iago is one of my favorite Disney characters though, but I love both versions equally.
You know, with Gilbert Gottfried’s recent passing, I’m sure there’s going to be a lot more looking more nostalgically on this version.
It was such a disaster, that Disney tried to delete the video!
(I've never experienced it, so I'm not trying to hate on it)
Lol!
It was such a disaster that it caused a disaster.
Totally an Accident
Or someone finally had an attack of artistic integrity, I don’t know. 😉
I remember when I was in middle school, we hadn't seen Tiki Room in a hot minute, and decided to check it out. We sat in like 15 minutes of pure hell. I was so glad they took it out!
Iago at least brought humor to the attraction 😂
And thankfully, the end of it lol
🌟Sydney Young! He even did in the Aladdin Disney movies
This would be more funny for one day as a joke or something. But 13 fricking years. Wow
Imagine if this actually happened at Disneyland in Anaheim instead of Disney World... everyone would be unhinged!
It s funny to see how much people are attached to the old Tikki's room attraction.
For a european who just recently discovered it at disney world Orlando (so the original one). I find it very boring, old and full of cliche on the music, the jokes and not funny. (No one were laughing during the show.)
Most of your argument are based on nostalgia.
A update version of it is very welcomed...
I'm glad they kept the Enchanted Tiki Room in Walt Disney World untouched
that zazu and iago point is really weak. its called comedic foils and had it been written better, it would have worked /because/ they're completely opposites.
Amazing your edit skills have gotten better and better over the years, been here since 2017 but so much has changed for the best
I know. I’m sad I missed this attraction
The Worst Disney Ride Show Ever Made Is Mess People Don’t Like Bird Annoying Zazu And Lago Yelling Everyone
Aladdin and lion king is in the tiki room
Funny thing is, I was born in 1994 and The Lion King and Alladin were my two favorite disney movies all throughout my childhood. I was also (and still am) really into birds. I have three now actually lol. However, this version of the show never resonated with me and I remember really not liking it and really feeling bad for the other birds as a kid. Later when the show was reverted back to its original state, I became obsessed with it and the enchanted tiki room is now one of my absolute favorite attractions! I am so happy that this version of the show ended, because I honestly wouldve never loved the attraction as much as I do.
Am i the only one who thinks they shouldve had the zazu animatronic entertain guests in the queue of tge new theater for festival of the lion king?
One of the MANY ways Eisner nearly destroyed Disney altogether.
Robert J. Holtz To many it’s one of the many reasons Eisner made the Disney company into an international sensation
I started to hate Bob Iger after he closed The Great Movie Ride
Hey you got to admit that stitch was an impressive animatronic figure!
TheOneWithDoggo //Duanesil2 dua absolutely it was an amazing animatronic, unfortunately the attraction was a disaster
@@fastpassfacts Yes I know but I wish Disney just recycled the animatronic instead of just murdering it if you know what I mean by "Murder."
I remember loving this as a kid with zazu and Iago, it gave the animatronics a personality. I will never understand where people get this hate from.
Walt disney : "Ok im burning this down. *Burns it down*
