I work at a movie theater and I specifically remember a day when a large day camp for the disabled came in hoping to watch 'Harold and the Purple Crayon.' The age range of the group was from like 10 to 35. Apparently after a few mix ups they wound up watching the wrong movie, so their theater played the Ryan's World Movie instead. And they never came out to tell us for some reasons. Everyone left that theater looking like they had their souls sucked out of them, they were all miserable and unhappy. To this day I still feel kinda guilty about it, even if it was the manager's fault.
Did they get a refund. Also I know every theater works differently but were there any posters promoting movie. If so, were they place in a common area? I never saw a trailer or poster at my local theater. Not saying I would watch it but it’s not being promoted then it might be one of the reasons the movie flopped so hard. It was called Dash Tag and it wasn't even a ryan game, it was an animal jam game. the whole premise was a basic subway surfers style game, but you sometimes saw other skins and you had to tag them to play as them. young me was OBSESSED with that game. i was searching for that game since i got a new cellphone, and GUESS WHAT?? it was GONE. and what replaced it? TAG WITH RYAN.

The animated segment is giving me such emotional whiplash, because it feels so weird to see anime so competently and authentically made for a toy unboxing TH-cam brand. Granted, it's around the same quality as budget TV anime, so it's not anything ground-breaking... But it's still way higher than what you'd expect, given the source material.
They could honestly make a sequel about the villain, except it would be more violent, not for children and give actual character development from how it went from destroying Ryan’s world to taking over it and planning to find a way to trap Ryan in his world, alone and ageless for eternity. Which ends off with the villain returning to the world to finally reconvene with his sister, only to find out that she was dead due to some reason.
and the villain that wanted to save his sister was never found alive in the real world.....and his parents have gave up to find it and his sister still is addicted to the ipad..... also my favorite scene: 7:03 i think they were supposed to be the daleks oh his universe.

It was playing in my area but there was only like a handful of people in the theater. Only reason I knew it even existed was seeing the trailer during a screening of My Penguin Friend. I don’t think there was any real marketing.
I feel that this movie had the lowest marketing I’ve ever seen besides the Chuck E Cheese Triple Pepperoni pizza, and this movie only lasted for 6 days at my local AMC. I REALLY wanted to see and diss on this movie, so I took to Facebook to shame pocket watch for such a mess of a franchise.

i remember playing a past version of the game. It was called Dash Tag and it wasn't even a ryan game, it was an animal jam game. the whole premise was a basic subway surfers style game, but you sometimes saw other skins and you had to tag them to play as them. young me was OBSESSED with that game.

The animated segment is giving me such emotional whiplash, because it feels so weird to see anime so competently and authentically made for a toy unboxing TH-cam brand.

They could honestly make a sequel about the villain, except it would be more violent, not for children and give actual character development from how it went from destroying Ryan’s world to taking over it and planning to find a way to trap Ryan in his world, alone and ageless for eternity. Which ends off with the villain returning to the world to finally reconvene with his sister, only to find out that she was dead due to some reason.
and the villain that wanted to save his sister was never found alive in the real world.....and his parents have gave up to find it and his sister still is addicted to the ipad.....
