  • @LekaLEL

    Fantastic video as always. I followed your day night for outside.
    Now I want to do this Diy for my corridor.
    Is or advisable to put the motion detector with pir ontop of the door frame.
    With a led light in the centre?
    (Corridor is 4 m long thus light is in the centre at 2 m).
    Should I also use a 360 or 180 degree wall motion sensor with day night ???
    I appreciate your exceptional videos as always.
    From Gauteng

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks. If you put the PIR on top of door frame the light will remain off for a short time when someone walks through the door under the PIR until the person is in view of the PIR. If the PIR is 180 degrees and mounted on the wall, it should pick up from both sides of the corridor as soon as someone walks through the door on each side.

      @@ecologicaltime thank you so much, j went ahead and got an O Lite 360 surface mount pir. Works like a charm except the day night...might just be a faulty unit or my wiring .

    can i use one of these sensors to turn on and off my patio heaters ? thanks

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes as long as your heater wattage is lower than the maximum wattage that the sensor can take. Small heater is fine but high power heater, you will need a more powerful relay inside the sensor

    • @24zelock
      @24zelock 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ecologicaltime thanks for the reply , my sensor is max 2000w and my heater is 2000w , that be ok ?

    in case that i need the switch on option, meaning that i switch on the light manually for a period of time, what do i have to do?

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      there is an override on some sensors. This one you can adjust the time to longer but does not give full manual control. Others have a manual override. Get one with manual override.

    Do you know if you can do this on a 3pole switch ?

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      it can work if you set the switch to the one pole that you are connecting the detector. When you move the switch tot he other pole, the detector will be offline.

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      if its a high quality and reliable detector, you could bypass the one pole as it will be always on and the detector can be used as the switch going on only when person is in vicinity.

    Very odd that the watt rating is different for incandescent and led/fluorescent.

    You don't have to tape the entire length of the wire, just the ends.

      @meharnisha5889 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      He did that for differentiating the INPUT and OUTPUT of sensor control.
