Even though I've tried, I haven't really found a way to show how a shock performs better than another. I have compared the E-Storia to the Aria and it was meh... Seems like you've found a better way to do so.
Nice video. Can I ask what frame size you're riding on this video? Looks like a small frame? What is your height in cm? I'm kinda into this bike. Just could not decide whether to go small or medium.
Thanks for the review. I have a Super Deluxe Ultimate air on my Stumpy Evo. Considering this shock, but worried the bike won't be as poppy and playful on most trails here in SoCal. Since you've tried both shocks, do you feel that the Vivid is less poppy or can be tuned to be poppy with volume spacers and rebound without making it too harsh?
I honestly think the Super Deluxe has more of a poppy/ playful feel. The Vivid feels more planted to the ground; I tried to make it feel slightly more playful by adding a click of rebound faster and the compression one click softer. I think the Vivid will do better for racing and continuous big compressions. And Super Deluxe has a better place for being an all arounder.
I put a Vivid on my Stumpy Evo and there's two important questions I think you should answer before considering it. Do you wish your bike would calm down when you blast through chunky terrain? And how much do you value your bike having lots of pop? If you don't notice your bike getting squirrelly at speed then there's no reason to put a Vivid on your bike. If you do but value having a really poppy bike then you may still want to stick to the SDU. Effectively what the Vivid does to the stumpy is you trade a little bit of pop for a huge amount of confidence over chunky terrain. It is also worth mentioning you can put up to 6 volume spacer in the Stumpy Vivid so you could theoretically make it as progressive as the SDU (The air spring will still feel different but that's a different discussion). I ride a lot of rocky terrain so this was a worthwhile upgrade for me but I don't feel like someone who rides mellower stuff or values a lot of pop would benefit from it.
@@devindebruhl it’s a little noisy but I have i9 hubs and am used to loud things have loud motorcycles to so to me it’s not noisy but If you have silent hubs I could see how you could hear the noise
I put an ultimate coil on mine w/hydraulic bottom out and everyone said the same thing but didn't take long to tune and after setting hydraulic bottom out it feels amazing. But I'm looking at this shock for my super Enduro
They definitely don't suck. I have had both the '24 dhx2 coil and float x2 and float x and bunch of other air shocks, and the coil does some things better but it definitely has its disadvantages
The Giant looks sick
Yes boy . Great review
29% sag with +1 LSC is the sweet spot. ✌️
Ok what bike? How many Volume spacers?
You should try throwing in some volume spacers to dial in the mid stroke support

May need to add a few volume spacers for mid stroke support
I may end up putting a second spacer in there. Gonna ride it at a few different places before then.
That is my dream bike right there
Favorite enduro I’ve ridden.. Only two or three big travel bikes I would ride and this is one of them.
Nice setup.👌
Hi there, what tune did you get the vivid in? Thinking about getting it too for my Reign.
You need a windslayer cover on your GoPro

Would a vivid fit into orbea wild 2023. Came with fox dps "custom tune". I would like to upgrade...?
Sick! What trail is that?
Avila Ridge! Super fun little loop.

@@devindebruhl awesome thank you!

@@azzy9532 Thank you, this is super helpful!
@@azzy9532 What settings did you land on with the vivid on your evo? And what's your weight?
Woah, you definetely need a wider fov on your camera and something to get rid of the wind sounds
and some stabilization
Agree, just learning this thing thanks for the advice. The stabilization is all set but need a new chest mount lol… Shes stretched out.
what bike is that?
Ext best ever
Heard good things. Is your shock noisey at all? My friends makes a weird compression noise. Just wondering if yours is like that too?
@@devindebruhl it’s a little noisy but I have i9 hubs and am used to loud things have loud motorcycles to so to me it’s not noisy but If you have silent hubs I could see how you could hear the noise
I’ll stick with my RockShox super Deluxe Ultimate coil RC2T with Sprindex adjustable coil
Facts! If I had that I wouldn’t change it.
Super Delutz
Norcal?
Central Coast. Pismo Beach/ Avila Beach!
A high air volume shock like the Vivid is sub optimal on a bike with a low progressive leverage rate like a Reign.
I put an ultimate coil on mine w/hydraulic bottom out and everyone said the same thing but didn't take long to tune and after setting hydraulic bottom out it feels amazing. But I'm looking at this shock for my super Enduro
that is propably why it felt soft in some situations
@@hannes6114that would make sense for a bike with high progression
still frame dependent though
mr content creator here
All I will be doing now.
i looks bad though...
so i will be hapy with my cheap marzocchi coil
He was comparing it to high end coils.
Ah yes a Fox Float X2 :p sure look like it
Very similar!
The Vivid is a giant piece of crap! Rocks box really shat the bed on this one.
Id never use a Air shock over A Coil ..... been on 2wheels 55yrs ..... guess why they DONT Use them for Racing ..... because they Suk

All your past EWS champs would disagree as well
I think no..another 4-5 years there's more new shock better than vivid
Of course!
There will always be a better shock in 5 years. Have fun on your blown dpx 2.
