I know wood need replacing especially if it's been wet for long period of time. A good watch and learn video.

Is there anything that normally supports the shell along the two cross members near the center or is the weight of the whole tub carried around the perimeter?
I have a 2007 piper glen which has had the wood replaced on the bottom, but the tub is 'floating' if you exclude whatever support the foam provides
