Thank you for this video. Walked by my tub today and found a small puddle of water. Slow drip from one of these (replaced the whole control unit a few years back so it isn't that old... same control unit as this video I think). But I'll probably just order a new pair of split nuts and gaskets from your site to make sure it's good to go. I don't have valves on mine so I have to drain the whole tub to do this repair :(

So is it a mirror effect, or are these reverse threads, left to tight?

Looks like Pool Putty. 2 part. Sticks to most things, seals, but removeable if you need to.
We use it in Pool Repair.

My spa is less than a year old and it was dripping/weeping from these. I just tried tightening them because of you video and was able to start snugging them up by hand. Thanks! If I do end up having to replace the gaskets, will those pipes be full of water if I don’t drain the tub?

I have an american standard whirlpool tub. The heater is an american standard ezheat 100 model ct100. The nuts have cracked and i cant find the replacements. I called american standard and they gave me a part number for a kit with a heater blank and some spare bits. It cost more than a new heater. Im wondering if i can use these split nuts? Would i get 1 1/2" or 2"

Do you sell the gaskets alone? Link please. I do not need the unions. Just the gasksts

Can I use a couple drops of super glue to hold the black gasket in place ? Mine keeps falling out of place when putting back together.

Probably wont respond but I have the same setup I did this and it's still leaks. I believe I used the clear gaskets. Any clue how to fix?

Thanks for this video. What is the name of the tool/wrench you're using, and where can I buy one? Im not able to get it tight enough by hand.

Most likely did not get the heater connections tight it will damage the board.. You might be able to repair it depending on what type of board.. you can email parts@htpofa.com with pics so I can tell you..

@@spaguyhowto7417dear Spa guy, I've watched allot of your videos and learned so much. Thank you, I do have a problem though, I replaced the element in my heat tube, titanium 5.5 240v for my legend series ls850 masterspas hot tub, now my spa just sits off and goes into OHH or Dr and or Dry, any suggestions? Do the temperature sensors go bad?

DO YOU HAVE TO EMPTY THE SPA FIRST?

If you have slice valves you can close them and do the repair if you don;t you have to drain the tub..

These should be hand tight, if you have to tighten them that much the gasket may be pinched.

Why would they do that? Goto spa parts of America and get the split nut union and gaskets, I did.

I did auto repair. This was cake compared to what I have seen people do!

    It’s not a slice valve, it’s a sluice valve.
Pronounce like loose, with an S at the beginning.
There’s no such thing as a slice valve.
