It’s really funny to hear them talk about how it’s the bugs that are being influenced by propaganda.
That sounded a little treasonous there, bud.
It aint wrong aint it? they are influenced by a "Hive" network. That's a form of propaganda! Managed Democracy doesn't accept this.
I would love to just hear someone on board just wondering how the fuck dose a bug worship facism if its a bug

@@AlbertJ04😂😂😂
In a sense, the hivemind and pheomones they're using to control the drone bugs can be akin to propaganda.
Brain? Bug? Frankly, I find the idea that a bug could *think* offensive!
The fact they don't accept our freedom makes it more than enough of a confirmation that they don't have brains.
Starship Troopers
Well it doesnt!
*IT ABSORBS YOURS*
Every player has a slightly randomized crew. The voicework is all the same, but the names, skin tone, and sometimes the face meshes are different for each player's destroyer. Democracy officer will randomly have an eyepatch, too. It's a fun little touch.
So your saying my ship having a mission overseer guy looking identical to the one in the first game is luck?
Wait the democracy officer occasionally doesn’t have an eyepatch?
@@molassesman4066 Except that in the first game the bald guy is a technology and stratagem officer, and the black guy is your campaign overseer and the propaganda narrator, while in the second game the bald guy is your campaign overseer.

@@Laikafan02 Absolutely, that line about 'I only regret that I only have one ship worth of lives to sacrifice.' immediately brought him to mind.

Pretty sure everyone here is an indentured servant.
It's a facist government. The state owns everything. All "private property" is a thin illusion. You will own nothing and will be happy :)

You know that classic "Hive mind evil alien bug wants to destroy humans!" Trope that Starship Troopers and Helldivers is using? The bugs (Terminids) were ACTUALLY super peaceful during first contact and even managed to make a basic way to communicate. It was when humans started to get scared of the gigantic bugs was when all the fighting started, and AFTER when they learned of the bugs fossil fuel property, did it get ALOT worse...
That fits. All super earth's enemies are ones they created.
Sounds like dissident propaganda this will be documented and reported
Sorry mate but I'm calling the feds on you. Can't have false information on our site now can we.
HEY!

Wait Cyberstan is a real place and NOT just a joke my brother made up?
Yes, I was there among other old veteran divers during Cyberstan's Last Defense, you can watch the records here on TH-cam.
You can actually find the planet on galactic war map. Currently it’s under Super-Earth control, but it’s pretty close to where automatons are advancing. Would be cool if they took it and an event/video was posted by the devs about it.

Yep it's where first real uprising happened and was also swiftly put down
There was one line from bettman that you missed. It was binary code supposedly from the first ever transmission from the automatons. It was only two letters, but I can't confirm because remembering binary is difficult when it's spoken so fast and so suddenly.
I'm gonna have to assume the transmission said "Hi".
Yes it's 2 letters and supposedly says AH, but I can't get a screencap anywhere to confirm. My original guess was also "Hi"
You know, some of those lines from the service crew are actually... heartwarming in a way.
You should read the heartwarming letters the SS and Wehrmacht sent home. Talking about their pride in their work. Of course that work was genocide in death camps and Soviet villages, but those were just "commie robots".
It's actually the same now. Your soldiers harass and rob entire populations. Theft and rape are common. In real war zones like the Donbass and Palestine you're outright genocidal. Your tanks even have iron crosses and swastikas on them. But the letters sent home are all about pride and democracy.
Lol democracy where an algorithm chooses the candidate and chooses one for you, you dont "vote" but the program votes for you.

@@declicitous1763 nope its kinda confirmed that automatons are an AI of cyborgs, when cyborgs got caged they managed to send this AI out, so now automatons have a directive to get the cyborg leaders out of their prison on super earth.
Thers a whole theory going around that we gonna get cyborgs or something similar after automatons capture super earth (the first game was a cycle, sonetimes helldivers won and sane systems were kept, sonetimes they lost and super earth had to be left behind and new one was formed, I think its posible this game could have a similar thing.
Additionally it could be an interesting way to add a new faction, as when the devs are ready they could start a special event, like a large scale atack (similar to the defense even we have now but times 10) so automatons whould push us all the way to super earth, then if we as a comunity manage to somehow hold the onslought and protect it, they could easily say that during the fighting automatons relised the cyborgs or if we lose then just that the automatons victory alowed a new enemy to rise.
That whould be a great even and overall thing, as if they gave players a posibility to influence the history and lore of the game then even more people whould be interested in the game, althou I'm preatty sure the servers are suffering enought as it is hahaha
12:10 A strange twist on Nathan Hale's (supposed) final words, "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country."
Hale was a spy for the Continental Army in the American Revolution. He was caught and executed by the British in 1776.
I love how everyone is commenting on the lines and stuff, but are we going to ignore the fact that this gamer killed a bile titan with a frag grenade at 8:06? That is genuinely impressive.
Its really funny hearing them talk about their life while saying things like "Freedom savings time"
Why would they have Daylight savings time in space?? 😂
Just as idiotic as some Americans saying Freedom Fries, post 9/11, cause they disliked the French for not supporting their war.
It's honestly crazy that Super Earth has somehow turned Democracy into a religion.
Chesterton did say that to abolish God is to make Government God.
Some of the best parts of the game is in these lines
"...the cost of one stratagem is more than most citizens make in a year"
Oh...
Wow
It's like that IRL too
A single jet fighter is worth dozens of millions, guided missiles are often priced between tens of thousands to several million a piece
I love these crew!

Take a shot for everytime they say democracy
I, too, am tired of life
It's kind of a brainwashing type of speech if you think about it. They are shoving the political propaganda down your throat. Helldivers 2 cranked that up from the first game to 11.
0:40 "freedom saving time", 😂 good one.
As veteran, what the Service tech employer said about bug evolving into the Terminids in the war today is very accurate. The body cams (Videos) I see today doesn't have the tentacle boss bug anymore, the chargers are faster and more ferocious, and the small infantry bugs doesn't have as much shell-ish cover anymore.
i want the tentacle bug boss back since its the first big enemy you face in the bugs

There's something so satisfying about adding the word "Super" to everything. Super Earth, super citizen, super credits, super destroyer. Im almost surprised they don't call it super democracy rather than managed democracy.
eriksson has to be lilith from bl2
I wouldn't worry too much about the names, because I'm pretty sure they alternate from a list.
Whoever wrote these lines deserves an award
I like to imagine even the hire ups in government are being effected by the constant freedom propaganda too..: so much so they might have actually tried to make bugs and automatons do freedom. Just watching them do what ever
I have a theory that the algorithm does actually work and is selecting what people are asking for and super earth is actually the result of everyone's choices. Example
I want to know the truth
Easy way to do that is to put a bunch of people in charge who decide what the truth is

The sad thing is I do genuinely think that Super Earth's prop machine is the only way to have a galactic government like that. Warhammer 40K is a great example of how dissent inside an empire, even a small amount, can lead to an absolute fracture of leadership and unity, leading to trillions of deaths. A unified Imperium would be far stronger, the galaxy wouldn't stand a chance. The Imperium would be able to handle everything because half of their time is spent chasing down traitors. If we had the same issue on Super Earth, Helldivers would be dispatched to kill off dissidents too much to be able to spread Democracy to the bots and the bugs.
Idk if mine was bugged but once I talked to the service tech, the only other Npc with a white talk icon was the person against the wall hard right of the armory where the computers are. Obviously I can’t get down there to talk to them but it’s weird that npc even has a talk icon
