This is true. It’s actually how people make change in therapy. They take an idea that means something to them. Then they reflect on it until they understand it.

    • @rtmordecai1

So true!!!! But you also have to live by it, that’s the important part. If you turn away from truths you already know, it’s torturing yourself. A lot of people know what to do, but don’t have the strength to do it.

Literally just read 33 Laws of War earlier at my local B&N and I must admit that the book is addictive to read. I barely like many books. I resonate with the line “Being attacked is a sign that you’re important enough to be a target”. Take it how you want it, but this single sentence will give me more power over any enemy or hater I come across. It’s a very powerful book if you’re able to use your own wisdom to form ideals within the book. I gotta finish the book.

I’ve came to this realization in just studying people who are book smart. They read the books to KNOW the information basically to only regurgitate it while others read the books and apply said knowledge. The ability to understand that any given moment is a teaching moment is a superpower. While many just want to be the teacher but they have never applied the knowledge.

50 and Robert would likely have never interacted with each other organically, nor saw the value in each others perspective, going off their appearance or status in life.

Not only do you have to remain open to what others are saying and doing but be open to all kinds of people around you, great wisdom can come from people you would not expect to hold such knowledge.

Fif always references Robert Greene. His books are powerful. The craziest part is, Greene is a calm and laid back dude that doesn't use most of his rules or try to gain power. I find his books are very useful for your own protection. Rather than a weapon, it's a defense against these things.

I find 50 cent so impressive. The background, sure impressive. I mean though, his consistent presentation of wisdom and I guess, the way he boils concepa to their essence so often. I know here he discusses the application of things taught or we teach ourself. But just the humility, politeness, blend of masculinity and gentleness. I just admire 50 cent all day long, and I don’t even listen to his first successful art form. Just love that dude. I have never expressed myself as well as he seems to so easily, in my entire life. Good on you 50cent - thank you.

Remember the people that got this advice that gave it to others, were the ones that were looking for things that were valuable and figuring out what were the most valuable so they could focus on them…
You're either going to be that kind of person or you're not, You could read all the books you want and memorize quotes or you could understand them yourself and put them in your own words.

I taught myself how to talk to people which turned into learning how people think. Now I’m descent with psychology without ever taking a class and I can manipulate any situation to favor my own. People just want to feel validated, cared for, and listened to while having their ego stroked.

Dya knows what's weird? As soon as I saw the title of the book I jumped off this app, went and searched the book on audible and added it to my library because I could tell with the title of the book and 50's appreciation that it would bang. Turns out he's telling us to take time with information given to us and I did exactly that before I even got the full message. Popped my head a bit ayy.
