Poor Koda never gets much sleep because he is up and down all night checking out every sound. When you wake up, he feels his night time job is done. Then he naps all day. Now I understand. Good job Koda.

He doesn't like the stairs, not just because they are open but they are wood and slippery for dogs claws and paws. If they had carpet treads it wouldn't be so bad.

That is just his breed. I have a great Pyrenees named Koda too and they bark at every little noise. They are nocturnal also.

@T M yes they are livestock guardian dogs. mainly during the night is when they get serious and stay on alert protecting the home, property, owners, livestock, etc

Well, at least we finally know why he is always feeling tired. He is just always up protecting from the scary noises, and gets barely any sleep. Great Video guys!!!
A lot of people don't realize that Pyrenees are naturally nocturnal. They are "made" to guard sheep/livestock at night. They sleep during the day, its their way. People buy them, and try and fix this, not realizing they are not broken.. Love them Pyrenees,but definitely keep mine outside,in his element.

At my beach house/association, the stairs to get up and down are see through and my dogs have a very hard time going up them, doing down them is fine but I think because they can see through them they dont like the idea of going up them
So, my dog scratches the floor too. I learned it either means that they are marking their territory, or they are just trying to get comfy.
