My daughter is 4… has been cat whisperer (all animals) since birth.. so now, I’m a cat person. We don’t have one yet. How lovely to watch this video and I wake up in the night. So cute!!!
I’ve raised cats for twenty years (I have a dog too) and cats are extremely social and loving. It’s likely that she was looking for Koda and Cooper when she went in Koda’s bed and the toy box. Four days is a long time to leave a cat without company. She was getting extremely anxious and sad without you guys, which was so clear when she was crying. Excessive grooming is also a sign of anxiety. Please have a sitter stop by and spend time with her if you leave her alone again. Cats can get depressed and traumatized without their families, and it can be worse if they don’t have anyone to interact with at all.
A lot of people don’t realize that cats get separation anxiety just as much as dogs do. She probably missed Cooper and Koda just as much as she missed the humans. It’s a misconception that you can just leave a cat for a few days without anyone checking on them. Our vet recommends not leaving them completely alone for no more than two days/nights. Any longer and they can get really lonely and need human interaction. Not to mention you never know what they could get into and need to be taken to the vet.
@hahaimanidiot we went on a cruise one time and even though we had someone checking in on our cats (4 at the time), we could tell they were mad that we left but also that they missed us. My calico doesn’t always sleep with me at night, but after we got back she followed me around like a little shadow and came to bed every night for two weeks. It’s hard leaving them. When my parents lived closer, I would drive up at least once a month, especially on longer weekends, but I would take my calico with me because it was hard to leave her home even with some one there.
This is a fact. A former boss of mine who lived next door, her cat was the same way. He wasn't a people person and he got sick due to the stress of being alone. However, like day two he came running up to me purring and rubbing. He was just happy I kept checking on him and making sure he was ok.
At least Chelsea can pick up and hold Bella now without being scratched. Bella was not so much security patroling while you were gone. She was waiting for you to get back. She was lonely and crying for you. Your little black panther looks identical to my little panther girl. The resemblance is uncanny. I absolutely loved this video. It is sad people think cats don't miss them. I have heard stories about cats who refuse to eat and drink when their family is gone, so you guys are very lucky Bella is not that kind of cat. Luckily cats rest/sleep for around 16 hours a day and spend 1/3 of their time awake grooming, though it was very clear that Bella had some indications of boredom and was unsure about what to do (hence the long time staring at her balltower). When she is awake, she is looking around for you guys also, and waiting at the door for you. She loves you guys, but please get someone to come by daily and play with her / hang out with her for an hour or two everyday, when you guys are away for more than a day. It will really help her, and make sure she is fine and hasn't gotten stuck somewhere. Someone I know were gone for 2 days, and when they came back their cat had died because they got stuck somewhere.
Bella's parade with the cockroach cracked me up! Cats do love showing off to their humans what they've killed (be a cockroach, a catnip mouse, a leaf, etc). I had a cat when I was growing up who loved to bring home his kills and line them up next to the front door. Almost every day, I could walk out and find headless (it was always headless, too) mice, birds, squirrels and rabbits. I never appreciated those 'gifts', but it didn't stop the cat from giving them!
Love this kind of footage! What I hear from my neighbors is that my cat is waiting in front of the window upstairs for me to come home all day, so sad! They can be very social

Aw love Bella & the entire fam! My neighbors cat always threw up when they would go away. Some cats will get separation anxiety or when there is a change in their routine or environment it causes them to be stressed and they’ll act sick. It’s super common but goes to show she really does love and miss you guys 🥺
You can tell a cat not to jump up onto the counters, but they're smart enough to know that the only reason why they can't do it is because you're there. Love this video, been wanting one for a while where Bella is the main focus. Would really love to see another video like this where it's just the three of them.

Cats actually shouldn’t be left home alone for that long. They get lonely. If you have multiple cats you can leave the home unattended for longer but it’s always good to have a pet sitter stop by every other day or so. Bella is used to company and constant companionship, four days alone is too much for her.
Bella definitely missed you guys, next time you is going away for a long time have somebody coming to see here.. Here, in Sweden, it's mandatory to have someone to come and watch your cat for two times everyday you are gone..
That should be mandatory everywhere. There's this assumption (even mentioned in the beginning of this video) that cats can be left alone for a week or two but that's not true, they need someone to come play with them and spend time with them and feed them.
@@sophwitchproject I think its a common misconception because cats can survive for longer periods of time alone, but that doesnt mean they enjoy or should be alone as they actually are social animals. No shade to Chels or Trev tho as a lot of people believe this is okay, just hope they will have someone check in on her next time they are away :)

I think she was missing you all and felt abandoned as her behaviour is restless. Puking was revenge as our cat did the same if we were away for any reason (usually partially digested food on the 3rd step down our stairs overnight to register her displeasure!) Cats do need company, especially if usually around family members. We started putting our cat in a cattery when we went away and she seemed better for it. Before that one of our friends would come in daily to put food out and change her water, clean the litter tray etc plus took time to be with her. Sadly, our little puss crossed the rainbow bridge last December aged 18 and we miss her badly.

She was always calm with my hubby and never vomited with him, but just had to register her displeasure with her other minion when I would be absent. @@heathertaylor-nicholson9387 I think some cats tend to find comfortable spots to vomit, as it's not a pleasant feeling for them. It could be that that spot gave her comfort for some reason. As for why she does it when you're away but not your husband... Is it possible that you were usually the one who was home the most? It could be that she got used to you being around more often, and not having you around was more stress-inducing and a more noticeable change in her routine. Or maybe she simply was more attached to you. It's hard to really know without knowing all the details. I think I remember Jackson Galaxy mentioning in one of the My Cat from Hell episodes that cats turn their back to you when they're upset. They need some time to get over it before they're ready to interact again. Some people are like that too. But you probably wanted to cheer her up when she did that by giving her a can of tuna, and it eventually became a learned behaviour that turning back to you = tuna. But these are just my guesses as I don't know you or your cat personally. All the research I've done says that cats don't do things out of spite or vengeance, but cats do get stressed out easily and when they do, they tend to do things that are comfortable to them but seem spiteful to us.

I think the reason she reacts to Chels like that is her eyes are big. It my sound weird but for cats half closed eyes are indication of friendly feelings. Chels has huge eyes with darker pupils. If she tries to half close her eyes when she approaches her, she might get a better reception. Also when holding her make sure she feels secure and not dangling at all. Firm, secure. Not half frightened and hesitating. All in all, she is a star. You all are.

She doesn't do zoomies because she always have stimulus.. when you guys and the dogs were away she lost the stimulation, hence the zoomies to get the energy out.. next time get a cat sitter to play with her instead of just putting out the feeder.. she is very well behaved because she got on the counter and didn't knock out anything..
Very interesting to see what Bella did all by herself in the house. We went on vacation for two weeks and had a sitter come by every day to feed our cat and to clean the litter box. When we got back and opened the door we were greeted with the loudest and longest meeeeeow that we ever heard. I guess we were missed.
As much as I love Cooper and Koda and dogs in general, I’m all for these sort of videos with just Bella. And also seeing Bella and Chels being all loved up, is wholesome. Another awesome Video Trev.
Talk about crying. After getting my camera I discovered my guy cries for me every time I leave. It is absolutely heartbreaking. Thankfully he is very smart and I can ( eventually) calm him by talking to him via the camera audio, assuring him everything is ok -a phrase he understands. Now if I’m just checking the mail he doesntworry or cry. He knows the phrase. Knows I will be right back. Or if taking out recycling I can just tell him. I have been babysitting lately and gone for long hours and my poor baby cries and cries -oh it hurts So much. So Be grateful My guy wails!! And takes several minutes and reassuring to calm him. I could never leave him overnight. Yeah you had a little bit of crying -could be so much worse. Fun to watch👍😽🐾

Cats groom to sooth their selves. The frequent bathing indicates she was suffering from anxiety. You should really have a house sitter come in during the day for a couple of hours when you are gone for days at a time. Cats really love their routines, it gives them security. They get freaked a bit when their routines s messed up.
Please do more videos like this and please do more Bella videos! I love her so much. She looks just like my cat down to the white. on her tummy but yellow eyes. I got her from a rescue center. She had been there 3 months! And she is the best loving cat I've ever had. It is important for our black cats to be presented in a good light cause unfortunately they are the least adopted and the whole internet selfie thing hasn't helped. Bella is certainly warming up to Chelsea except the bite on the goodbye. Cats explore everywhere when alone....nothing is sacred. She's been on all counters & every inch of the house. We had brother and sister cats for 13 years. During the entire time, the sister was quite mean to her brother, didn't like snuggling, would occasionally clout him as he walked by etc. He unfortunately passed away, and for the first week or so, she was constantly crying, which she never really did. These awful, pitiful meows. We knew she was calling out for him. She still did it every now and then up until she passed away a couple years later. Even the hard-hearted, aloof kitties miss their family!
Brilliant video, I have 2 cats, one is very adventures and a outdoor cat and he is forever bringing into the house animal sights that I do not want to see. Cats are so smart and quick and the cockroach incident just shows how amazing cats actually are.
As a cat owner I can only say don't underestimate Bellas love for you, cats are very social animals, they are hunting alone but they do not live alone

100% agree. I had 2 cats. I felt guilty leaving them for even one night. They were so attached to me and my husband.

Talk about crying. After getting my camera I discovered my guy cries for me every time I leave. It is absolutely heartbreaking. Thankfully he is very smart and I can ( eventually) calm him by talking to him via the camera audio, assuring him everything is ok -a phrase he understands. Now if I’m just checking the mail he doesntworry or cry. He knows the phrase. Knows I will be right back. Or if taking out recycling I can just tell him. I have been babysitting lately and gone for long hours and my poor baby cries and cries -oh it hurts So much. So Be grateful My guy wails!! And takes several minutes and reassuring to calm him. I could never leave him overnight. Yeah you had a little bit of crying -could be so much worse. Fun to watch👍😽🐾
My Kitty makes those loud Meows when he's gonna throw up. Their poor little tummys probably hurt before they get it up. 🐈 😻 😺 🐱 😸 Take Care.

I often wonder what my cats do at night. I know they are naughty little SOBs because they are not allowed on the counter either and I've come down in the morning and heard one jump down. They love to wait until we leave!!!!

Cats groom to sooth their selves. The frequent bathing indicates she was suffering from anxiety. You should really have a house sitter come in during the day for a couple of hours when you are gone for days at a time. Cats really love their routines, it gives them security. They get freaked a bit when their routines s messed up.

She had been there 3 months! And she is the best loving cat I've ever had. It is important for our black cats to be presented in a good light cause unfortunately they are the least adopted and the whole internet selfie thing hasn't helped. I believe Bella came to your house with a mission! Love you guys, so happy to see Bella more of a part of the family and videos, thank you!

Bella is certainly warming up to Chelsea except the bite on the goodbye. Cats explore everywhere when alone....nothing is sacred. She's been on all counters & every inch of the house. It's her space....you two & doggos share it with her. Bella the black panther queen...& she knows it.

We had brother and sister cats for 13 years. During the entire time, the sister was quite mean to her brother, didn't like snuggling, would occasionally clout him as he walked by etc.
He unfortunately passed away, and for the first week or so, she was constantly crying, which she never really did. These awful, pitiful meows.
We knew she was calling out for him.
She still did it every now and then up until she passed away a couple years later.
Even the hard-hearted, aloof kitties miss their family!

Brilliant video, I have 2 cats, one is very adventures and a outdoor cat and he is forever bringing into the house animal sights that I do not want to see. Cats are so smart and quick and the cockroach incident just shows how amazing cats actually are.
