The only reason the Supreme Hunter/Hunter-Cancer parasite obeyed greene was bc he feared her. I mean, it only took her SECONDS to adapt to and reject the parasite whereas Alex needed Dr Ragland.
yeah but Greene doesn't have arm powers like Mercer or Heller, she's content with just infecting people.
He didn't need ragland. His body was fighting it, however, the virus wasn't fully able to reject it. Eventually he was able to get rid of it with what ragland told him and then he became immune to any such infections.

The first prototype was an absolute gem. You could tell it was underfunded for what they probably wanted but goddam they made a beautiful game and thrilling world
when one carefully observes Alex surroundings yeah, they really invested so many stuff in Prototype 1.
As you progress you can see the pedestrians walking like they were very sick (a sign that they were soon to become infected)
And amidst all of that, a few civilians still healthy and rude when you bump into them.
I saw a mod where the devs added all unused stuff (porcupine back shield, Heavy Rifle, Jets, extra missions, etc.)

You forgot to mention that even the Blood Tox was becoming irrelevant twards the end of the game with the mutations growing immune.
My theory is that Blacklight had so much food available in the city that it felt no need to evolve for the sea, and would of once things started to become harder for it to continue.
Prototypes like James and Alex might be able to swim after they go fishing.
They're just too dense to swim, that's really it.
@Jesse Cook. So they are so heavy that they fall to the bottom of any body of water? Well part of the story said the whole virus in general cannot cross large bodies of water so only NewYork is infected. Infected beings,Mercer,or even the virus outside a host,none of these can get past the ocean. The virus even outside of beings like Mercer and Heller just seems to have a water weakness but the body weight makes it even harder for Mercer and Heller to try swimming.

@@zombiedemon1762 That's only how Redlight works, not Blacklight. The Redlight virus is what is covering the city. The Blacklight Virus on the other hand doesn't actually show any weakness to water, and we can actually see this in the game as well. Mercer can walk around shallow water fine, and when he leaps out of deep water he does not actually take any damage.
I really want a remake of this game for the new consoles, imagine the gore and powers with the new tech!

You could technically survive it with help, or be very very lucky like Alex. Alex was a 0.01% chance case. But Alex can manipulate the virus and create others like him, just like Heller and lesser versions like Alex's Evolved. The only question is, would he? :P

I want:
Story: The story would be about heller 2 or 3 years after the second game, he finds himself getting visions and weird spasms in his body for some reason. But these reactions are actually mercer that is trying to wrestle controll of the body for himself, he was never really absorbed, Mercer just made Heller absorb a trojan horse in a way as the Mercer he killed was just a clone Mercer created before he was killed (a new power he made in case of defeat).
If you remember the battle between the two, Heller throws away mercers muscle mass arms during their fight, so Mercer could have changed bodies at that second.
Mercer will begin to speak in a way to Heller as he gains more controll of his body and his mind, while his real body (or clone depending how you look at it) are trying to create more infected in diferrent areas of the world.

I think my favorite is when Heller told Mercer he will skull fuck him and drain his memories out the hole.
Well, if you want to survive you have to become an Evolved yourself. You can fight against Juggernauts, Brawlers, Walkers etc. Hell, if you consume them, you can get stronger as Mercer stated it to Heller. You can also survive a freaking nuclear attack (assuming a chunk of your body survive and can consume a biomass to regenerate your body) YOU CAN EVEN ABSORB PEOPLE'S MEMORIES! Holy hell.

after beating prototype 2 I feel mercer lost his vengeance path near the end, he gathered all the evolved into one spot where they could all be consumed and found someone strong enough to take him down basically gathering all the biomass into one spot. I am convinced this was intentional.

Most people can't even survive the game.

Xcom unknown even on hard is kind of easy. Once you get past the early stages and get lasers or even if only 2 of your soldiers have plasma weapons, and if you can keep the deaths to about one every 3rd or 4th mission it just becomes kind of monotonous. I loved the game, but once you get the game plan of advancing down the middle, pushing on the left with maybe one on the right (maybe most of the time not really necessary) for crashes. Getting research projects and resources becomes easy, which in turn means better equipment and easier encounters over all.
Because we don't have xcom memetic reverse engineering capabilities

Okay I think the best route to go is to get dna from the “prototype” like Alex or James, and make super soldiers like the Orion project... after that there’s only trying to making sure that a deal can be struck with said “prototype”

You wouldn't survive though. Ferals, Juggernauts, Bloaters, Screamers, Blood Plague and the fact that simply drinking contaminated water or being bitten would infect you and more.
Bloaters will burn you alive with their stomach acid, ferals are fast and more resistant to firepower but not by much, they can outrun humans and rip you apart..Juggernauts are extremely resistance to firepower and explosives and are very strong, with the ability to literally chug vehicles around like balls they can also rip people apart easily while your guns do little to them. Screamers will shriek loud enough to disorient you while luring all nearby zombies to swarm you and thats just ignoring the blood plague which hints towards intelligence and a possible hive mind.
Its definitely possible though but not likely since the goverment are just experimenting with it rather than fully trying to stop it and even hints towards all the special infected being made by the government
@@soulofcinder4748 a lot of those have been done before though. Zombies aren't unique enough for my taste. And the people in the game world seem to be doing pretty damn fine. Well not really since they need to radio for assistance 24/7.
Yes the specials, but in State of Decay 2, theres an option to not have specials in your world; So there's a possibility you could be in a place without those special zombies

@@nota444tm2 If I'm not mistaken, in the level before you go to the lighthouse, and where you return to The Hound Pits Pub, You can either choose to Save Sokolov and Piero through an optional mission which involves taking out all of the Watchmen and The Tall boys in the area or just go To Emily's room and Fire the Flare which signals for Samuel to come and pick you up.

If this was made in 2020 he would know people would think its no big deal and attempt to tame hunters and say blackwatch is infringing on their freedom
The odd thing about that statement, was that was exactly what Blackwatch was doing with abducting civilians to be used as either test subjects for experiments or as fodder to feed their already infected specimens.

They resemble HL2 Combine soldiers more: glowing visors and gas masks.
Likely because of "soldiers VS monsters VS protagonist" scenario. And they're visually similar to both HECU and Black Ops. And there's also the second protagonist from a earlier hostile faction who is also happen to having the similar situation as the first protagonist. Duh.

Mercer knew he was a reanimated corpes and he still choose to act good. Such a shame he suddenly became a bad guy in the second game

Actually in the story of the game,many civilians actually joined the fight against the virus and against the military who was responsible for the infections.
It was those normal ppls who used their scientific knowledge to aid Alex mercer to become the strongest infected,and they was sadly killed by the military.

Becoming an evolved made by Mercer would be amazing, you are nearly bullet proof, stronger than captain american (you can throw cars at flying helicopters) and can consume all the knowlege in the world.

You forgot that normal infected also have super variants that can climb walls and jump multiple stories, and take even more damage than their normal counterparts.

I still have this little headcanon on me that,
Alex let himself be defeated when he realized that he can become even more stronger by taking control of James's body from the inside.
Prototype 3 could just be a new protagonist dealing with a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde scenario with Heller & Mercer

DUDE this was my FAVORITE game of all time!!! I was probably 7 when I first played this, and I played it OVER and OVER and OVER again. 10/10 would reccomend to ANYONE!
20:45 Not gonna lie. Since Heller consumed Mercer, he basically became the same thing he did try to stop. It won't really take long until he will become the next threat.
Perhaps, but even before he was infected, Mercer was already a sociopath who mostly secluded himself to his work, only asking Dana for help when he started becoming suspicious of Blackwatch’s true goal for Project Blacklight. Plus the fact he lost his memories probably helped Mercer/Zeus with distancing himself from his past humanity so it was easy for his prior sociopathic tendencies to re-emerge while he was travelling the world & silently judging humanity before going full bad.
At least with Heller, he didn’t end up losing his memories & while he may have had some real anger issues after being infected, he was still a family man at heart, so with his daughter Amaya still alive, his main goal post-NYZ would probably be to go into hiding to keep them both safe from Blackwatch and whoever’s running Project Pariah (since Agent Griffin & his fellow suits had higher clearance than even Rooks & Blackwatch).

Alex Mercer! The main protagonist of the first game, antagonist of the second, and to many the very spirit of the Prototype series; because he _is._
Anyhow, he was a scientist employed by Gentek, a company loosely controlled by the U.S. - more so operated by higher authority than the president. During his time there he took a great interest in the Redlight virus, and in merely 3 years managed to genetically engineer it to raise it's already insane mortality rate. He did so both for his fascination and borderline obsession over Redlight, and to hand of to Blackwatch and its leaders, who would use it to target certain ethnic groups and undesirable populations. In his last months he figured out that there was a conspiracy within the company to wipe out entire groups of scientists studying the disease to keep it's existence unknown. One night he took a vial containing his modified virus: Blacklight, as insurance and tried to flee the city to save himself. He was caught, and in a sociopathic rage threw the virus down, releasing it in Penn Station, killing thousands, and was gunned down by Blackwatch. His body fell onto the virus, and it consumed him, copied his DNA as a template, and completely absorbed his memories to a point where it thought it was Mercer...
So the original Alex Mercer died in Penn Station. Blacklight used him as a disguise and fooled even itself into thinking he was Mercer. I could go on, but I'd be here for ages! There's a good recap video on youtube if you wanna get a better grasp of the story!

I remember playing Prototype 2 when i was little and just running around killing people for HOURS. Also has he done a video on State of Decay? If not then that would be really cool

Man prototype 2 was fun.
I always loved stealing choppers and tanks weapons and destroy everything or just take someone turn them into a bio-bomb and throw them in the most crowded area i could find

aww I like when you do the full lore of the game, I learned a lot about this game from this video. Guess as a kid I didn't pay that much attention to the story over all the high action. Also really any shape object can pierce Kevlar vest . They spread the area of the force of a bullet so it does less damage and stopping the bullet but sharp objects can easily pierce it so their hands arent that sharp lol
