    Really do enjoy your videos sir. Like your methods. Great explanation why and how your doing things too. Very educational. Different types of equipment too. Things I've never seen before.

    Trev , thank you for this video ! I am so excited about bees for 2020. Did you paint them or do they come that way?
    Loving what I see here! Looking forward to more and I liked it and subscribed.

    Where did you put the queen cell before insert into the box? What kind of carrier (blue plastic box with white top?) did you use? Don't they reject the queen? Actually the queen is in the brooding box 1 at the bottom?

    Good video! After the queen emerging from the cell and after mating, do you let the queen lay the frames full of eggs and then remove the queen? After removing the queen you simultaneously place a new queen cell into nuc or when? Problem is, the bees might rear the new cell by their own from existing eggs....

    How do you know you didn’t shake the queen in the Nic?

      I did think that but I think you should let new bee keepers know you had separated her,thanks for letting me know.

    Trev, can you add a second nuc sized box to make it two high for overwintering??

      Awesome! They do not really say if you can stack the nuc bodies two high in the product pages, nice to know! Thanks Trev, and I really have enjoyed your videos.

    Hi Trev, I just purchased my First Paradise Honey bee box and coming from a timber box beginning i have a problem. The polystyrene boxes are obviously a lot thicker than the timber equivalents and my old stainless steel frame holder doesn't fit the new Polystyrene hive boxes. I see you have one in this video, where did you get it? Hoping i can find one her in Australia. Cheers

    From Coromandel where do you get those sliding queen marking cages

  • @Westernwilson
    @Westernwilson 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Trev, did you slide a protector on the queen cells just before you put them in?

    Where did you get the yellow queen excluder between 2nd and 3rd box? Is it called queen trap by "Paradise." Also inner cover right below the top cover?

    Have you had problems with silent robbing

    • @beehinde
      @beehinde 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Silent robbing occurs after the introduction of bees from the parent to the nucs. The older bees fly back to the parent colony and inform the others of a food source, they can go back and forth unchallenged by the guard bees in the nucs because their odour is the same. After 2 to 3 days the odour changes.
