What a life saver. I've been looking everywhere for a vid like this. You're a star. So the forks are only held in by a single lower clamp, not the traditional upper and lower clamps? A dealer told me all the plastics had to come off! Was that 150ml of fork oil. Thanks again.

Have you ever happened to replace the rear suspension? Is it easy at all?

Hiya, do you know if these fork springs are available for the 2018 Forza 300? I am in the UK and can find lots accessories such as rear springs for the SH300 from Italy. I think the SH300 is similar. Glad I found your channel!

If u know how to open the top cap, its easy. If u are insecure, take pictures of everything, so u can easily reverse it.

in the official manual it says clear filling with sae 20 to 100mm from the top edge of the fork, you are talking about 90mm.

thank you. yes, thats correct. but for finetuning the fork and any shock, you can not only use different oil but also play with the so called "air spring" in the fork, which is also an important element with progressive function for the damping.
see for instance oehlins manuals, they show a graph bit.ly/2CFAInW
      Air spring:
A change in oil level will effect the damping forces, not in the early stage of fork
travel but a great deal in the later stage.
When the oil level is raised
The air-spring in the later half of travel is strong, and thus the front fork hard.
When the oil level is lowered
The air-spring in the later half of travel is soft, and thus the front fork soft.
Oil level adjustment As the air trapped between the oil and the top nut acts as an air-spring, a change in oil level will effect the damping forces. Not in the early stage of fork travel, but a great deal in the later stage. A general description of how the oil level/airspring effects the damping forces are shown in Fig.4. The air-spring gives the Öhlins USD fork a progressive spring rate, preventing it from bottoming out hard.

Thank you for your answer, so if I understand correctly, if the front fork is filled up to 100mm from the top, the fork is too soft because there is too much air above the oil level, or am I wrong?
Unbelievable that they don't know that in the Bitubo factory!

      Hello sir,
I have attached a tie wrap to one of the front fork legs and the used spring distance is measured exactly 80mm from the top of the dust cover, the maximum spring distance according to Honda is 102mm, what do you think? Good or not?
      thanks.
