everyone is talking about how the editing is really good but no one is really talking about how Jacks entire verse is 1 long shot like how in The shining alot of the best were just 1 long shot that never ended. Its just genius. Props to you Dustin!

1. Why did you say their name without any spaces?
2. You misspelt ERB's name.
3. ERB doesn't own the concept of rap battles. Anyone is free and able to make their own.
4. Freshy's use of faster flows, built up track progression, huge variety of battles (live-action, 2D animated, 3D animated, Cartoon, etc...) and mostly fictional characters instead of non-fictional people from history help him stand out from ERB.

after watching this i watched the shining for the 1st time and these are all the things ive noticed while im rewatching this:
1. in the end of norman's 1st verse he disses jack over how he froze to death, stuck in a maze during winter.
2. Jack talking about how he "corrected the disturbance" is a reference to what brady said about how he "corrected" his family.
3. "im gonna have to let the storm in" is a reference to how most of the shining takes place in "the storm"
4. not sure about the ball being a reference to the ball that got dropped outside of room 237 but the "fucking play with me norman" is a reference to the infamous "play with us" scene.
5. after this point Jack's facial expressions look a lot like the facial expressions he made when he went insane. this isnt really a reference its just that they really did a good job on the acting.
6. in Norman's 2nd verse they make a reference to the popular "redrum" scenes.
7 "or did i get a dull boy excited" is a reference to the "all work and no play makes jack a dull boy" scene.
8. after 7, Norman makes a roast about how jack is trying to drink alchohol in the last part of the movie because he couldnt take it anymore.
9. RIGHT as Jack's 2nd verse starts he makes a reference to the "here's johnny!" scene. which is honestly such a cool way to start his 2nd verse.
and 10. the last part of the rap battle is in the Hedgemaze. and Jack ends it off with saying that Normans mind is his own maze, and how he will never find the exit. this is such a cool way to end it since not many times do you see someone using their own death to benefit them in rap battle's. even before i watched the movie i thought Jack won but now i REALLY think he won.
3 Also, Psycho starts with a woman seeking shelter from a storm and ends up in Bates Motel.

I love how elements of both The Shining theme and Psycho's theme are part of the track
This is actually not bad. I really, really like the characterization of Jack. Whoever voiced him was spot on. Low, quiet intensity with bursts of rage and passion. I also preferred his overall flow to Bates, although Bates' second verse was quick, vicious and on point. I'd give this to Torrance, but not by a whole lot. It was looking a little one-sided after the first verse, but Norman made a comeback.
Man, I still remember how happy I was listening to the audio of this battle for the first time, in 2019, and I believe I have been waiting for it since I joined the community. Happy to see such an impeccable result, really, thank you for never letting down in what you do, this is GODDAMN amazing

Both face ridicule from members of the police department they are assigned to work with and can go against their given objectives (Connor by showing compassion to deviants, Norman by helping Ethan escape police custody if he is arrested once). Connor's reconstruction and analytical capabilities are also similar to the ARI. David Cage has since confirmed that Norman was an inspiration for Connor's character.
Actually, Detroit Become Human and Heavy Rain are great for opposing rap battles.

My favorite thing about this battle has to be the editing, especially when the iconic carpet pattern from The Shining is basically being drawn around tiny Jacks at 0:54. So cool!
