  • This is a summary of my experience with the past authoring program by J.B. Peterson. By carefully following the exercises and investing time into completing the program, I got rid of the leftovers of my (complex) PTSD, nightmares, panic attacks and gained a substantially better insight of my past and present.
    To be fair, I have already come a long way before I started the program, but it definitely served huge benefits and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to improve their life quality and mental health.
    lots of love!

    I think the flack JBP receives is undeserved. He's done way more good than bad. People misconstrue his points because they want a bogeyman to fight. Listening to his lectures has really helped me get my act together and gave me a better perspective of how I can shape my life.
    I just can't believe people who accuse him of being a hateful person, he just appears so genuinely compassionate and patient. Especially with how he holds himself against people who antagonize him.

      @AnnaFitz  6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I agree - he's extremely smart and seems genuine and kind. I also swallowed his 3 lecture series and it definitely changed my perspective on many things and taught me a lot about myself. I try to separate politics from everything else, so I deliberately don't watch this part of him being represented on the internet.
      But the amount (and intensity) of people who idealise him also kind of scares me. So I try to stay as neutral as possible. He's really cool though :)

      All 'opposition' to him is politically based, and not relevant to his psychotherapy consult. He is clearly one of the most compassionate and intelligent people alive today offering any practical advice for managing a real life in real time. If people you know don't like that he is unwavering in his positions on gender politics, compelled speech, anti-Marxism and other 'woke' social issues of today, that should tell you something about them that you should take very wary note of. Anyone thinking for themselves will see he is a blessing and boon, but deluded excuse makers and destructive dark dwellers find him unbearable. Dr. Peterson has sacrificed a lot in his own life for the sake of truth, what are his opposition sacrificing? Only you and your children's futures. Glad you are being helped by the good doctor's work, he is really making sense in my life, too.

    Great stuff, I came across a video a while back about Jordan Peterson talking about what it requires to heal PTSD and I feel he is spot on when he talks about it's being able to put the traumatic memory into a cohesive narrative whereby meaning can be extracted from the event, whether it be a fundamental life lessons, or practical aspects. Once you understand the trauma then the flip side is that you understand how a) you ommit to having a part/responsibility b) if you had a part to play then you were sort of in control.. Leading to c) In the past I had a part to play but was unaware of the consequences but now I am aware of the consequences then now I can take appropriate action in the present. Now I am safe. Now I am wiser.
    I feel only until you find an honest meaning from the traumatic events can your mind feel it is able to clearly understand what happened and how it doesn't have to happen again, as now you can control the scenario.. You are aware of that previously unknown danger.
    We can't change the past but we can change how we perceive the past, and through that perceiving we can set ourselves free now.
    I love JP he's helped me so much.
    Thanks for the video please keep us updated as I'm interested in trying the suite myself in a month or so.

      I really really enjoyed his take on PTSD. It really pushed me to understand how to avoid it in the future and how to deal with the past. nd also that we as humans are much tougher than we think we are :)
      I will definitely update on the progress, hopefully it will motivate me to go a bit faster :)

    Yes please, make more :) I will take a look at this. I'm a bit lost of figuring out the hard triggers for my childhood issues that had led me to be this 'troubled soul' not fitting anywhere. I remember some things that still make me feel hurt but they are still quite minor memories. Hey, i'm with you; my earliest memories are when I was about 2-3 years old. Most people don't remember that far and don't actually believe you when you say that but it's true. And they are clear as day still.
    Good to see you have gotten your energy levels up again. You look radiant actually, Anna. *hugs*

      I will definitely make more since people seem interested! And cool that you remember yourself from such a young age too! Sometimes people don't believe me either.
      Hope this sort of self reflection helps you if you decide to do it! Just stay safe and take a pace that will be tolerable, it's easy to overdo this :)

    I came across Jordan Peterson via his daughter Mikhaila and her journey with arthritis. I’m considering the self authoring course and came across your video here. I also have complex ptsd, and my past trauma was also not really dealt with in therapy. It always felt like if I tried to bring up and issue they would side step it and then not help me with it later. What is therapy for? Anyway, I’m left to deal with my issues on my own. I do journal a lot already, but wondering if this will help deal with specific past issues. Thank you for sharing your experience.

    • @AnnaFitz
      @AnnaFitz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Totally. This changed everything for me. I think you don't necessarily need the program if you are super self disciplined, but just writing down all of your traumatic experiences definitely HELPS A LOT. It's like shining light on something you don't want to see, but need to deal with to go on. It takes it's power away from it. Good luck :)

    I think the roadblock I hit with the past authoring is that I don't remember everything that happened to me clearly enough (for some things I was very young and I got gasslit A LOT), it's all a haze of negativity with an occasional semi-clear memory.

    • @AnnaFitz
      @AnnaFitz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am sorry this is the case for you! I would write down anything you can remember as you remember it and wouldnt care if you think it might not be 100% correct. In the end what matters if HOW you remember it, what "really" happend is anyway interpretad differently by each one. Good luck! 🙃

    • @JKtheSlacker
      @JKtheSlacker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Vladimyrful Anna is 100% on this. The thing about writing it down as you remember it, is that once you have it in writing, you can take what you know now to perhaps add missing context, or you can learn something new to help you interpret it in a way that's helpful. In one of the stories in 12 Rules for Life, Dr. P talks about a female patient of his who came in and talked about how she was abused by her brother when she was younger. It came out during the discussion that she was 4 and he was 6. It seems that it helped a lot when she realized that they were both too young to understand what was happening, which she hadn't been able to do before examining the memory. That's one of the ways that self-authoring can help out, by changing something with malevolence behind it into mere tragedy.

  • @letsgoBrandon204
    @letsgoBrandon204 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm finding past authoring extremely difficult. I don't feel like I can remember enough memories to fill it out.
    I've been at it for weeks and I'm still trying to think of things that happened to me. The memories that I do have I can't recall in enough detail to write very much about them.
    There are only a couple of memories that regularly come to mind that upset me. Am I missing something or do I just have a bad memory?

Надеюсь у вас получиться шодить на одну из этих лекций. To be honest I wonder if he ever makes it to Germany. I have heard German government enacted some sort of "hate speech laws" . Considering the way he has been missrepresented in regarts to Bill C-16 they might shut him down. Those "Trans" individuals had a samll protest yesturday in front of a theatre. Theater workers were wearing intersex signs next to their work ID's . Pathetic!!!
