    African Tigrsss, I commend you for showing some of the transportation system in Trinidad. What a great idea. Don't forget to show off our beautiful ferry service when you go to Tobago. I have a feeling that you will return to Trinidad and Tobago many times to cover both islands. You are a Trini already. I hope some of the government ministers are watching this video. My observation on my last trip was that there is a bit of neglect in refreshing outside walls and their upkeep on properties. They should have an island wide week campaign dedicated to repainting walls. It does not do justice to the appearance of the place when the walls are left with a lot of grime and unpainted. There could be a week dedicated to that every year, and people could even volunteer to help. It will be a nice way to improve the appearance of the place. Although the walls were backing the properties along the route, they could have them looking cleaner with a coat of paint.

    The "Piority" only takes up about a little over a 1/3 of the Northern half of the Island of Trinidad from Arima to Port of Spain. From Port of Spain to Chagauramas and from Arima to Toco there isn't any Piroity just normal roads on both sides. So Port of Spain to Arima is 29 km and the furtherst point East to West of the Northern half of the Island is about is a drive of 109km but straight line distance of about 80km.

    Enjoy your trip in Sweet T&T. I am a Trinidadian living in Canada and working as an Instructor in Canada and I teach many studenrs from all over Africa when they resettle in Canada 🇨🇦. The African people appreciate me sooooo very much when they encounter my personality and the Caribbean culture. Every student take my personal phone number and stay in touch hoping I can bring them to visitthe Islands in the Sun, 🇹🇹 Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 .

    I am 48 and half Trinidadian; never been to the country and this is my first journey seeing how public transport is there. It reminds a little of transport in London. I'm surprised they have lanes for buses and cars separate and traffic lights and no bus conductors. Looks very organized. I guess I will have to look for vlogs as this video just popped up to my surprise with the title. Thanks a lot..🥰

    TIP: Never cross a road in front of a maxi even if the driver stops for you. Most pedestrian involved accidents happened that way.
    FUN FACT: Maxis weren't always that quiet. Until the ban around the mid 90s, you could hear music from maxis long before you would see them. In fact, some didn't have backseats, only cushions on speakers! And the fare was $1 TTD!

    The country needs a proper land transportation system to ease congestion on other roads during peak periods. Too many productive hours are loss in traffic.
    Would a modern Railway Network be the solution?

    It's um very good to see high opening team like there's a more buses. Then people on that road. That's supposed us what you get when you rich with oil that can afford to deploy. Lots and lots.
    I'd like to transfer some money from my current account to my savings accident. of buses, whether they are people or not, that's my observation. Yes, it's a good idea about it seemed to be overly populated with buses one every few minutes. There's literally like a train one behind another behind another beyond another, but a nice and clean. It's very good

      Maxis are privately owned and tax exempt to purchase. There are also many big Government owned buses that come off this route and go to more specific areas @12:44 Some new ones are actually in the works also..

    • @Trinavara
      @Trinavara 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      WRT to the maxi taxis the color of the stripe tells you their route and it's usually point A to point B and you could hop on and off everywhere in between. All those people you see coming off may have to get a car to take them to their final destination or take a walk, kinda like a subway ..The red band you see here are East-West Corridor .
      The big Govt buses are more area specific that's why you don't see many on the bus route as they get off and head to more specific areas all over the country . They have the routes/destinations digitally displayed on the fronts etc..there are also luxury coaches that make longer direct runs.
      But you will also find maxis of the relevant locale of different color stripes also operating on main roads and highways too between POS and those areas..so for instance if you're in POS and you want to head to Central or anywhere on the way you look for a green band, if you want to head West or anywhere on the way you look for a yellow band, and you'll also find ones that just operate in their local area with their relevant band that don't necessarily come to POS. (Port of Spain) .

    • @charmainskeete5983
      @charmainskeete5983 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      It's by color

    • @cmarp066
      @cmarp066 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is no other direction for the red band maxis. East to Pory of Spain the city only. The Yellow band which you will not see here serves POS to the Western towns. The Green Band Maxis serve the Central areas. The Brown and serve the Southern areas, and the Blue band serves the sister Islands Tobago.
