First Day in KERALA 🇮🇳 Fort Kochi, Mattancherry, Jew Town India Travel Vlog

- In this India Travel Vlog, I finally made it down to Kerala! I took an overnight sleeper bus from Pondicherry to Kochi where I made my way to my hostel in the Fort Kochi area. I was shocked by how cute Fort Kochi is!!! I started my day at the Kashi Art Cafe with a smoothie bowl and coffee. Then I headed to the street market by Jawahar Park where I saw tons of foreigners as well as the famous Chinese Fishing Nets. It was a really cool experience to see them actually using the nets to fish and then selling the fish on the side of the road. The fishing nets are located right next to Bastian Bungalow, so I headed to the museum next. The museum is inside a gorgeous Dutch colonial style building with amazing views of the ocean through the big windows! It was a nice stop to learn some of the history of Fort Kochi. After Bastian Bungalow, it's just another few minutes walk over to the St. Francis CSI Church - the first European church in all of India! After seeing inside the church I headed across the street to the Dutch Cemetery - it's famous as it's the oldest cemetery of its kind in India as well as the resting place of many old Dutch and British explorers. While it was closed when I was there, you can walk around inside sometimes. The cemetery is located right next to Fort Kochi Beach which is a great spot for sunset! I decided to check out the beach as I was already there, which was extremely empty during the daytime. After the beach I walked past some cool graffiti before seeing the amazing Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica! Outside of the basilica I saw a flyer for the Kathakali dances which are famous in Kochi as well. I then jumped in an autorickshaw to head over to the Mattancherry part of Kochi. My first stop was the Mattancherry Palace which has lots of info about the royal families as well as gorgeous old murals! From the palace I walked down the streets of Jew Town to the famous Paradesi Synagogue. This was one of the most adorable streets in Kochi! I decided to walk the whole way back to Pandhal Cafe so I could pass by more adorable buildings and churches. Fort Kochi is such an amazing, walkable place!! I had a really good salad at Pandhal Cafe before heading back to Fort Kochi beach for the most gorgeous sunset!!! Unfortunately I had the wrong times for the Kathakali show so I missed it. However I'm sure it also would've been a great experience!

North India and south india is entirely a different world,, especially kerala🌴❤️.. So good 🙌🏻
Yes that’s why south world people are ⬛️
India is so different everywhere I went! 😱
Kerala is clean and beautiful other States should learn from Kerala.
Kerala is really nice! 😍
See the first half of the video clearly... Lots of garbage 😶🌫️ especially in market area near beach. Unless you are blind, those streets were filthy 🤧
You've really not seen Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.... 3 of the most beautiful places in India.
U need to stop commenting like this. I am also from Kerala. But stop comparing. All it does is make Kerala seperate from the other states.
Kerala has garbage issue yes not like north indian states. Ppl throw garbage into others property here
This video brought back great memories from the time I was in India and I took my best friend to Kochi for her birthday. I was surprised to see a town named Jew town, old synagogue and a Jewish cemetery. Being a Jew, I felt a more special connection to India. It’s a very calm and beautiful city❤
I was also so surprised about the Jew Town area! I’m sure that was amazing for you to run into! 😍😍
What an incredible first day in Kerala! Thanks for sharing this amazing journey through Fort Kochi. The vibrant sights, rich history, and beautiful sunset made it feel like I was right there with you. Can't wait to see more! 🌟❤😀👍
Thanks for watching 🥰

Most foreigners mostly prefer to visit kochi but kerala has very diverse landscapes such as forests, animal reserve parks, mountains, waterfalls, hill stations, backwaters, paddy fields, many farming fields, beautiful villages, and mostly a vast stretch of costline (there are many beautiful beaches in kerala but foreigners mostly visit kochi which is a populated city so usually the beach would not be clean or hygienic but as they only visits kochi beach they typecast kerala beach as so small and unhygienic )
I really liked kochi! Then went up to Munnar for a few days which was gorgeousss. But then when I got to Varkala I stayed for almost a week because I found a good gym so I could just go to the gym and beach everyday and it was amazing! 😍
I am surprised how clean everything looks
There are so many amazing places to visit in India! 😍
@@NataliesPassport wow personal comment. Thx. What country are you from?
Welcome to India 😊
Thank you 🥰
700 for the bowl and coffee?? 😲😲 I guess I will avoid that place. Going to Kochi in a couple of months and I'm super excited. Love the video, by the way!
Ohhhh you’re gonna love kochi and India in general!! You can still get really cheap Indian food there, but western food is considerably more expensive 😬 but after 3 months I was okay with it 🙈🤣
Also so cool as I watched a bunch of your videos from Eastern Europe I feel like a couple years ago?!? Keep it up! 🎉🫶
Yeah. Iam from kerala and if you are visiting kerala you could get cheap to expensive food most street food are cheap but i would prefer you to try food from were locals would prefer but if you need a bit more hygienic i would prefer a cafe which is foreigners free as the cafe which expects foreigners are bit expensive. But it would satisfy all your needs and also even though the people in kerala is nice, no place in the world is 100% safe so always be aware of scammers.
Kochi looks really cute! 🇮🇳🪷 Thank you for sharing 💖
Thanks for watching 🥰
You should visit Andaman and Nicobar islands-of India . It is much more closer to Indonesia than India. Beautiful beaches with turquoise water.
So actually I live in Thailand! And I’ve seen it’s not too far away. I’d love to visit one day! 😍
Your personality is really amazing. You really emit a positive vibe.Glad that you were able to enjoy our country. There are many places you can visit in the future like the extreme north or northaest part of the country.Best of luck.
Actually when I return to India I was to go to both the NE and the north north! But it’s crazy how long it takes to see all of India!!! There are sooo many amazing places to see! 😱
Welcome to Kerala, Natalie!!
Thank you 🥰
This video is like a tranquil escape to a vibrant aviary-so soothing and colorful! 🦜🌈 Thank you!
Thanks for watching 🥰
I really like your videos u show everything with a smile and walking and exploring by yourself is what i really like...
Aww thank you 🥰 I love seeing new places by just walking around and encountering everything naturally ❤️
@NataliesPassport christainity reached in india before it reached in Europe. The first church in kerala build in 52AD... the guy who said bad comment about Christianity is probably a north Indian. We people of kerala never say that.. because Christanity is part of kerala history... there are many syrian Christian churchs in Kerala which is more than 1000s years old. So please dont blindly believe the hate comment by that north indians.. they always spread hatred towards minorities like Christians and Muslims. If you google it you will understand prosecution of minorities in north india... Kerala is a state of religous harmony we have hindhus 50%, muslims 30%Christians 20%.. we live happily in kerala since 1000 years... unfortunately some people from north india want to destroy the religious harmony of Kerala..
Nope they ain’t minority now ancy! Most of the conversion done by muslim and christianity was due to the opression during caste system and mainly dude to economic reasons! Your ancestors just converted and because of them you are still following it. Caste is not part of Sanatana dharma and it is the best religion in the world unlike christianity which wants to destroy other cultures and spread their own culture and religions using evangelisation and do you want me to quote bible where it says good people who are non believers will go to hell cause they dont believe in jesus!? The priests openly diss hindu dieties and calls them demons! I just want to say that this abhrahamic religions only want to divide people. Dont get me started with muslims. Look and germany and europe jihadis want sharia law in the world and christians want evangelisation of the world. Stop being a hater! North indian faced a lot of cruelties from muslims and christian invaders so shet ep😂😂. Pinnne nee adyam poyi ninte bible padipikkunna mattu mathangale athikshepikunna alukalodu para. Ancy ninte history aanu bharatathinte sanatana dharmam. Athu kaaranam mathram aanu inn ivide muslims um christians um free aayi jeevikunne! Ellathilum oru grey shade ondu! Hindusim thil caste olla pole christianity il hate soeech ondu❤ and talking about religious harmony what yall mean is that side line conversion of hindus and destroying faith and muslims are just breeding like pigs so they can take over! Thats the truth. We hindus have realized it now and are joining hands! If you can believe in some dude who got nailed on a cross and make a book on it we have much more scientifically inclined teachings and its our personal choice to believe in our gods and you and you lil christians have no authority to call our gods nephilims and demons
Aww I love that everyone gets along there together! I wish everywhere was like that! 😍
We don't spread hate towards Christians. You better worry about your so called Islamic state of kerala.
@@NikhilPanchal-ct3cv Kerala has 54% of Hindus. which means more than Half. And yet you are calling Islami....😀
Kerala Hindus don't have any problem with Muslims and Christians. Why are you guys worrying about us???..😂
Especially in rural parts of Malappuram and Calicut. Eerattupetta as well. Joseph mash is a living example of religious harmony and tolerance.
Thank you so much for visiting India! Your visit has truly left a positive mark on everyone who watched this video. Your constant smile and joyful spirit throughout the entire video were contagious, spreading warmth and happiness to everyone. It's clear that you're a kind-hearted and genuine person. Please don't let any negative comments get to you; you're doing an amazing job. Keep shining and spreading positivity wherever you go. Bless you buddy and may your smile never fade!
Aww thanks so much 🥰🥰 negative comments are really annoying, but also a part of TH-cam 😩 I feel like usually I can ignore them pretty well.. 🤞 but I had a really great time in India! 😍
Was literally waiting for your vlog. Hope there are more coming soon.
So after here I made a quick stop in Munnar (didn’t do a video as I was just taking a break and chilling 😅). Then I went to Varkala for a week (also just chilled and went to the gym and beach everyday 😅😅). I’m hoping I can make a Varkala vlog! But I haven’t seen the footage yet.. otherwise I think the next one is Hampi 😱❤️❤️
The sunset part was amazing how did you do it. Put the camera stable for about 3 to 4 hours😮. 👍🏻👍🏻
I used my GoPro on Timelapse 🥰 it actually didn’t take that long tho! Once the sun actually sets the color can change really quickly 😍
Happy that i am coming to Kochi soon for my studies in Cochin University.Any way it is a wonderful video

I actually did go to Jaipur and a few other places in Rajasthan! Hopefully I’ll get the videos edited soon 🙈
Thankyou visit again ❤
I love to see videos of fort kochi. This is where I grew up. It has a special place in my heart. I hope to retire and die here
Such a cool places to grow up! I loved walking around the streets in fort kochi 😍
@@NataliesPassport yes, indeed. We used to have a much bigger beach during my childhood though. But the town wasn't as developed as it is now. Still was a very cool place. The art and culture scene has always been awesome! The celebrations during Christmas and New year's are like none other. The temple festivals are truly nostalgic. But most times of the year, it's just a peaceful, calm and quaint town.
In India, GOA is the place to be! You HAVE TO visit Goa! Its so amazing and cool! (If you have not already lol) Your videos are amazing btw :)
Aww thank you 🥰 I actually did go to Goa for a few days! Although I didn’t vlog it cuz I met up with a friend and just wanted to have fun! Lol

Kochi is so beautiful but a lot of walking 😅 . Take care Natalie. Enjoy your trip in India. Visit Arunachal Pradesh or one of the north eastern states (Sikkim, Meghalaya etc) you'll absolutely enjoy it.
Please Avoid Kolkata, Bihar, jharkhand, chattisgarh.
To be fair, Chattisgarh outside the main city is one giant national park and its really beautiful. Agree with the rest tho

Good day Nat ! Just having my breakfast - saw your new video available and grabbed it straight up... Great way to start my day... that Kochi place looks great too...how do you travel from A to B in India, is it mainly trains ? What is your source to find accommodation ? What are your sources to determine which cities or places to visit etc....? Did you encounter problems as a single female ? How do you avoid them and get out of them ? I am a man...
Awwww thanks for watching 🥰🥰
Honestly trains in India are kind of rough because they book up SO fast! 😱 so usually I would try to do a train….but if the A2/A3 train classes were full, I’d usually take a night bus (I took a night bus here to kochi from Pondicherry).
For accommodation I would usually check on booking…once I found somewhere there I’d spend time reading the reviews and then cross reference on Google maps to make sure it was a legit and up to date place.
As far as where to visit, I’m a mess 🤣 one of my favorite things to do when I’m bored is just scroll around Google maps, looking at pictures of places and stuff. Whenever somewhere looks cool I bookmark it and try to go (the same with TH-cam comments - whenever someone mentions a place I look up ALL of them! 😍)
In 3 months solo in India I honestly didn’t really have any issues! There was just one small thing that I might make a video about later (the issue/amazing police response/how I felt in general as a solo female)🤔 BUT overall I LOVED my time in India and I might be back again in October 😅🤗
@@NataliesPassport Many thanks for your comprehensive response. I like your approach to videos, your attitude appears to be so positive in general... I live in Germany.. if you ever plan to visit please let me know. I would love to show you some beautiful places .. stay safe and sound Nat...lg

Come on Kid ... Grow up.
Now people like your's propaganda won't work .. as it's the age of social media and people all over the world are seeing the truth and travelling to India and posting their travel vlogs.. as their own testimonials. Her reply to your comment itself is sufficient to expose you.
So it's high time that you stop these kind of propoganda promoted by jealous western media and fanatic jihadis .. or get ready to be exposed and shamed .. like Pakistanis ( Not all Pakistanis.. but those fanatic extremist evil lovers who do shameful acts in the name of religion. )
Stay alert in the Indonesia, you'd better say 💀
Kerala is very safe brother.. don't worry
