Thank you for this wonderful video. I had been dying my hair with regular hair dye for the past 20 years to cover my grays, but I wanted something safe and natural. In August 2020, I discovered this video. Because of the pandemic, and since I was stuck at home, I decided to give your procedure a try. I'm a brunette, so those pesky grays were driving me crazy. Well, I love the results. My hair is now soft, healthy looking, and a dark chocolate brown. Bless you both for sharing this with the public.

I love this! I dye my hair black almost every month. I cut off my long ends and needed a healthy and natural way to dye my gray hair. I tried it and worked great! My hair looks super soft and very shiny. Thank you!

Your mum is so beautiful - and that colour becomes her so well. I'm 54, a dark brunette, and like your mum I started turning grey early on, so I have been using chemical colours for many years, but I hate the chemicals. I didn't think henna could give such a full coverage of dark colour, but now I know, so thanks for these tips - very much appreciated!

Years ago I used "Sunset Glo" henna and my hair was simply gorgeous. Then gray began to set in and the orange your mom's scalp looked like, was how MY hair began to look so I quit using it. WISH we had video's like this then because today I'm going to go buy 2 Hennas...one to turn my gray orange and the other to turn my hair to the red I use with dye. SO HAPPY you have been sharing this and that I found it today.

I’m recovering from cancer and my hair is growing back. It’s about 1/2 inch long and apparently is 100% gray! I knew it was pretty gray, but it is 100% gray and I’m only 46! Since I just had cancer, I no longer want to use regular hair color due to chemicals. During my research, I found light mountain color the gray. I purchased the dark brown one because my natural hair used to be dark brown and that is the color I have dyed it for many years. However, I did the strand test on a spot on the back of my head since I don’t really have strands yet LOL. It looks really light though and almost orangish. I left step one on for 30 minutes because it looked orange after 30 minutes like the instructions said. I left step two on for the three hour maximum because I wanted to get the best/darkest possible color and instructions said browns take 2-3 hours. I didn’t see anything in the instructions about keeping it damp. I wonder if that is why it isn’t dark OR If it is lighter because it’s covering 100% gray. I’m planning on waiting the 72 hours before covering my whole head like the instructions say. But I’m kinda scared that it will be orange. I don’t want to go from gray to orange. I’d rather keep the gray! I Please help!

Thanks for the tutorial, I found that using all indigo after the henna application, left for 2 hours was more effective. also mixing some henna with the indigo gives a dark shade but not black, seems the more henna mixed with the indigo the lighter brown (but not light brown) it leaves the hair. I was advised to use a teaspoon of salt with the indigo to help it release its colour.

As a newbie to henna this video was super helpful along with your other video, complete guide to henna! I have run into an issue with coverage of my gray hair. I don’t have too much gray hair (mostly near my forehead and up on top) so I started with the 1 step process. The gray did not cover at all. Then I tried the 2 step process and the gray turned a bronze color. I used Chestnut color both times which is close to my actual hair color. I kept the henna on for the time suggested in the box directions (25 min for step 1 and 3 hours for step 2). Any suggestions would be appreciated!

the Indopak hennas in my opinion are more orange tones . The most popular Rajasthani, or red raj.
The Afro Arab hennas ie Moroccan and Yemeni are more fiery red and fade to copper .
The former indian ones have to sit longer before use min 4 hours or over night .
The Moroccan only needs 30 mins before use for hair. But if take up to an hour to apply it you can just begin applying immediately.
Whichever you purchase make sure it’s just henna as the ingredient nothing else : lawsonia inermis.
Organic is better but people tell me the non organic stains better . But for health organic is superior

My geay hair would get this brassy color, which contrasted with my dark hair, which was too noticeable and not too attractive. Now that I saw your video i wonder maybe i was doing it wrong.
Can you please make a video of applying henna for gray hair but for red haired results. Not for dark brown. I would like to get a result like your hair. Or maybe you can direct me to another video which you already have about this. Thank you 🙏

Hi, I really need advice on henna dye-ing with stubborn greys. I have dyed 2 times on separate occasions. The first time, I mixed around 5 tablespoons of henna powder (I have short hair) with 1 tablespoon of vinegar, followed by warm water (not distilled). Then I proceed to leave the henna solution for 12hrs before applying. I washed my hair before applying and saturated the area with white hairs. I left it on for 3.5hrs with a shower cap. However, only my brown hairs were dyed to reddish.Yet, my whites seem to be not dyed at all. The second time, I replaced 1 tablespoon of vinegar to 1.5, and this time I used coffee water instead of just warm water alone, to create acidic environment. This time I only left the solution for 8hrs before dye-ing. Similarly after applying, I left it on for 3hrs with shower cap on. However, this time I decided to use a heat source( hair dryer) but only for 2-3mins as it was to hot. ( I attempted to submerge the towel in warm water and wrap around the head to keep the henna warm, however after squeezing out the excess water from towel and wrapping it arnd my head, I realised it was not warm at all. Hence, I gave out on the idea).
1)Does anyone has a better idea to keep constant warmth on the head? 2) Does anyone has advice on how to effectively dye stubborn greys? (Since the henna did dye my brown hair to reddish but not my whites, I assume the issue lies with stubborn greys and not with the product itself? Also, I dipped my finger into henna & my finger was a deep orange. Hence, I do not need to change a different henna product?) ( Also please note that I may not be able to extend my leave-on period from 3.5hrs to longer as it starts to feel uncomfortable at that 3.5hrs mark.)

After a month of shampooing, conditioning and styling, did your mother notice a major difference in her gray hair? Did it fade to orange, gray or any other color? Also, her hair is about as thick as yours, but is down to her waist. Will she need two (or more) boxes?

Toriiii!!! Please post videos more frequently, you were my inspiration to start using henna, did it three times so far and it's amazing! My hair feels so much healthier and thicker. I was wondering if you have any tips on getting a more prominent natural red color though, like yours, cause my hair was medium brown but now it just has a faint red tint. And which shade should I get next, bright red, light red, or just red? I'm thinking before doing so maybe try dying my hair with an ammonia free dye without bleach, just to lighten up the color, then using henna to treat my hair. What do you think about that, keeping in mind that I never dyed my hair before using henna? Any advice as a henna expert? Btw you look so adorable 😭❤️

I've been getting white hair since I was 12. Now I'm 28 and I am getting them so much more often. My hair is naturally straight and some of my white hair is new hair so it sticks straight up as it grows which so noticeable in my dark hair.

Tori -- I colored my hair for the first time 3 weeks ago with Light Mountain Color the Gray. Thanks for the videos! Question: If I used a clarifying shampoo the first time to get all products out -- do I need to do that again with subsequent colorings? It seems excessive and it really dries out the hair... thanks for the help!

I just completed my hair with Henna for the sixth time over the last three years and every single time, my hair has turned either green or purple. I have done every step that you’ve done. Everywhere my hair was still dark, it done good but everywhere my hair was grey has turned green. I also put two shower caps on my hair to keep my hair moist. Please give me a suggestion. I even used the entire bag with no luck

Hello. I'm wondering if you've tried a mix of henna and indigo as first step (70% henna 30% indigo) and then pure indigo as second step? And if you have, did you think the results were inferior to your process (of pure henna first, and then pure indigo second)? I ask because all the other tutorials I've seen for black hair with grays have always been henna+indigo first, then pure indigo second. You are the only one to not mix the two in the first step. I'd like your second opinion, as your mom's results are also impressive. Thank you.

I use henna but it should be apply on wet and warm hair , the red one for 30 minutes and the black for 3 or 4 hours. And no shampoing or conditionning for 3 or 4 days. Only rinse with water.

We have done this method too! It generally works well even without all those exact steps, but that is how we originally started doing it. For best results, I always say to go by the specific instructions included with Light Mountain Natural henna products, but I have been doing it many years and found that I can get satisfactory results with variations in the steps.

Hi, thanks for the great tutorial. I used to have medium golden brown hair naturally. I got my first greys at 16 and totally white by 30. I was using indigo and henna for ten years, but it got so dark with repeated dying and the roots always looked different from the rest. I cut it all off and wore a wig for 9 months to get back to my natural colour. Im all natural now, about 95% white, have been for 10 years, I still have a bit of grey at the back. Im only 50, so Im thinking of going back to henna. Id love to get a natural looking copper blond colour. Could you possibly do a clip on how to cover 80- 100% white hair and get a nice natural-ish looking coppery gol? I would really appreciate it, you seem to know what you are doing, Ive watched so many henna clips from others, trying to find the answer to this question. Thankyou!!!! Please answer, I'd love to get some colour back into my face and brighten things up. xxx

I would love to do something like this! If I can find a model I will try to film something for people with mostly white/gray hair. I would say that since your hair is so light you can probably choose a light shade that you like from Light Mountain Natural or their Color the Gray line. I have a link in the description box and a discount code if you’d like to try it. Best of luck!

@@torinoelle7215 Thanks so much for your reply!!😊💗 Thanks for the link, Yes, I will order a colour that I like and I had a thought that I can try it out on a sample of my hair next time I get it cut. If I get up enough courage to do it, I'll send you a before and after! Thanks again for your channel and for answering. If I did do it, would I have to pre colour the roots as you did on your mum? I never thought of doing that before. The biggest reason that I have against using henna is the difference in root coverage... Thanks! Suzanne xx

I see that you used hair clips when you were doing the first part of the process, I've always been told that even the tiny metal clips on the plastic would affect the color. Have you experienced this or do you think using the clips to section off hair is actually fine?

Hi Tori. Do you still use Henna? If not, I'd love to know why you're no longer using it. I have black hair like your Mom, and am graying quite a bit. I tried the Light Mountain cover the gray in Noir. I noticed you showed both the cover the gray and the regular black in this video. I've done one attempt a few months ago and my gray / white hairs turned very copper. The black didn't last long. Any suggestions for me? Thanks so much for your time.
