As a new Snagit user, I've been trying to make panoramic work like this! While the automatic panoramic capture works just fine, sometimes I only want some of the screen and scrolling content. This video was Exactly what I've been looking around for and happy that it came in from a TechSmith features email.
Have you tried using Snagit instead? It's way easier and more user-friendly than the built-in OS tools, and the free trial should help you accomplish what you need to do.
I'm sorry but looks like you don't understand the title of the video which made me come here in the first place "scrolling". I have an issue capturing a page with with scrolling bar so the rest of the page is hidden. Before, it was working and once I click the arrows it moves the page, now no more. thump down
Not sure what arrows you're referring to when you click, but scrolling capture is typically something done only with the mouse. If you select what you wish to capture from the All-in-One capture option, then click the Panoramic button (as Erin shows in the video above) you'll be able to scroll anything through your capturing window and get one big image. Give it another shot and see if you're able to make it work!
Well this sounds like a different issue now. If one browser doesn't work but the other does, there is something else going on entirely. I just tested with Snagit 2019 in Chrome and it worked as expected. You may want to reach out to our tech support team to see why yours is acting up. The video above is correct in how the functionality operates though, so if it's not doing that for you, feel free to reach out to our support team for assistance. bit.ly/ts-gethelp
There are definite limitations to vertical and horizontal simultaneous scrolling. For example, if anything on the screen stays still while the rest of the screen moves, it will cause a problem. If you scroll too fast it will cause a problem. I recorded a short video to try and clear it up: app.screencast.com/TKOav1R5bq9fo
I don't know the interface of Google ads specifically that you're referring to, but I can tell you that Scrolling Screen capture ONLY works if you JUST select the area that scrolls. Sometimes, people select too much screen area and if it's part of the screen that doesn't move, it won't work. Hopefully that helps, but if not, you can get a support tech to help you directly by going here: bit.ly/ts-gethelp
This appears misleading. I wanted a screen shot that is 8.5 x 11 full size. However, this only allows me to video or panoramic capture. Because I must decrease size to 75% to get a full page on one screen to create a pdf to send to my printer when they enlarge it to 100% a tiny amount of clean edges is lost. Is there a way to use Snagit to get a full size Microsoft word document into a true screen shot (1 picture.)
A panoramic screen shot (the camera with the arrows coming out of it) is the way to go. Line up your edges around the entire word document, click the panoramic button (your must use Snagit's "All-in-one" tab) and then scroll down the document and it will capture the entire page. Just click stop when you're done.
This simply does not work. When selecting All in One, I have to select scrolling window in profile setting. then clicking anywhere it selects a region and does NOTgive the menu-bar to select camera with arrows.it shows an up-down arrow at the bottom, but moving the mouse to click it, makes the arrowhead go away. It's like a game of frustration. Thank you Snagit, I guarantee I will never snag your app again. Ever!
Hmmm, it sounds like you are experiencing something very differently than the standard workflow. From All-in-one all you should have to do is click the red capture button, then drag out your region selection where you want it and the camera/video/scrolling menu pops up. Click the scrolling option, press start, and voila. However, if your frustration is that the mouse moves, yes, the mouse would not stay put on a scrolling image, but you can easily add a cursor back in from the stamps or use an arrow from the markups. If however it is technically NOT allowing scrolling capture, then something appears damaged on your copy and I'd encourage you to open a support ticket because it should absolutely be working: bit.ly/ts-gethelp
I am after freeware that allows scrolling capture. Snagit is unfortunately not free. I used it in the office, and it does work well, but I hesitate to shell out for something I use only occasionally.
We understand that, not everyone needs screen capture on a daily basis. For that we made our free tool, TechSmith Capture, but it doesn't have scrolling capture with it. It's screen capture, webcam and screen recording, but you can still download it and see if you could stitch multiple images together with it if that would help. Just head to screencast.com and click "Launch Recorder." Again, if you're looking for scrolling capture, that's a paid feature. Best of luck!
