The way you explain is extraordinary. And loved to watch your vedios. Please do keep posting vedios on building management system. Your vedios are best source for us to learn. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us♥️
Hiii Sir , super video series, completed all the video series so far u posted in the channel keep it up and expecting more. I have a query regarding this video, could you tell me when AHU is already supply fresh air and takes back the dirty air why fan coil unit is given. I hope the AHU supply air would be properly cooled, then why one more cooling unit is required.
Hi Akhil, thanks a lot for your feedback and support. Please share and subscribe. In case of an AHU serving many areas and rooms, it is not possible to achieve certain temperature for a particular room. For example if there is an electrical room which require certain temperature with the AHU supply, it is not feasible to achieve proper cooling considering the heat dissipation from the electrical panels. Providing FCU helps to achieve proper cooling in that particular room. Also it is cost efficient as you dont have to do bigger ducting all over the building and that will increase the AHU load & size. Hope this helps.
Hi Derrick.. FCU is like a cooling unit which will have cooling coil to cool the air. But VAV as thr name says its a variable air volume unit. It only varies the volume of air and does not cool the air. It take air from the AHU and regulates the airflow to provide cooling to the room. But FCU, take air from the room and cool it before sending to the space. Hope this clarifies your query. Let me know if you need any other information. Please support by sharing and subscribing. Thank you
Hi Sir, thanks for the reply. That means can I say the VAV System is a stand alone system in which chilled water supply from the chillers is not required, whereas the FCU cool the air from the cooling coil which is connected to the CHW pipes from the chillers.
Hi Derrick.. please watch my other videos which will help u to understand BMS. Flor valves control please see my video “th-cam.com/video/ZxmvvZuzxhA/w-d-xo.html”
Hi Sumath, please let me know what exactly you are looking for. Accordingly i can include it in my upcoming videos. Please support us by sharing and subscribing to our channel. Thank you
You said the valve opens and closes if room cooling is needed or not. So the valve is 100% open if cooling is needed and instantly 100% closed if it’s not. It’s never 50% open etc? Also, you said the fan keeps going 10 mins after it hits the set point. Do the valves shut off the second it hits the set point? If so, wouldn’t the fans just be blowing the same untreated air right back into the room? Why wait 10 mins to shut off the fans if they’re doing nothing in theory?
Hi will.. if the valves are modulating type, then the amount of valve opening is decided by the PID controller.. see my video on PID controller.. the fan just recirculates the cold air in the space when the valve is closer. There are some cases the fan can be shut off completely. It depends on the region of use and power saving configurations. Hope this helps
Dear Sir
You taught about FCU in an outstanding way.
Thank you so much for making the video.

@@engineeringautomation Well explained, thanks a lot. I request you to continue the series
Thanks
Can you make a video on ERU, chilled water system & hot water system
Hi Sohail.. Sure will do. Please share and subscribe to the channel.
Sir hall k hisaab se kaise pata chalega ki kitne paani thanda karna h for AHU
Hi vishal.. please see my AHU sequence of operation video.. its clearly explained there. Thanks
Hi Sir , may i know the main difference between a FCU System and VAV System.

Yes.. u could say that. But VAV’s require AHU which cools the air since it only varies the air flow.
Hi sir thanks for the reply. I am new to facilities management. I am keen to know how are motorized valves for the AHU works together with the DDC .
